Life / What should Poland and Poles do, after first day of nuclear war? [133]

How many of them work? I know Russia has thousands of warheads but how many of them are in working condition? How many of them are installed on working missilies? How many of them are stockpiled?

What difference does it make? No matter whether they can fly over the whole planet or 5 meters and explode (or rust and then explode ;0), it will mean the distruction of the world and no more radioactive suntan for both nations. I think we should build more tan-salons in case they'll blow up all the nukes. ;) Seanus, what do you think?

Realy, what should Poles and official Poland do, after first day of eventual nuclear conflict between world powers? Let`s say, in this hipothetical situation, that Poland represent target for nuclear weapons of all kind... so, what you people of this forum say?

I think Polish should suntan with Ukrainians on radioactive rays while the rest of the world ends itself up :)

Polish cavalry was arguably the best in the world and definitely superior to anything in Europe, Turkey or Russia

Except when it had to deal with Ukrainian Cossacks' defense and attack :), but otherwise it was definately the best, I wouldn't argue.

History / Stolen hero of the forgotten war. [52]

I just what to pinpoint an important thing: Russians spent half a billion of their currency and three years of work, thousands actors involved just to depict a historical moment of Ukrainian and Polish confrontation + put words of ass-licking into Cossacks' mouths. It is not their history, but they spend so much in order to do their "job". Now, if they waste so much money on cultural front, can you imagine what they do on political and economical plains? They throw billions to influence thoughts, to bribe politicians, to undermine countries in the eyes of others, to bring hostility among nations etc.

I am hoping US movie industry makes a movie about Iraq and Iran and their confrontation and then at the end Iraqis will yell: "US is our only savior and tsar. Come, O America, our king!" What a nice movie! I bet they will also spend billions on it like Russians.

Let's call him Earthian.

Chechnia and most of people raised there are merely beast

they still hate us and Russian minority there feel oppressed all the time.

Do you think this hatred is not based on historical and political factors. In 1840s Russia conquered this territory killing people, suppresing culture and language. Do you think it is that easy to forget, especially when they declared independance and where bombarded in 1990s. Any agressor is being hated, this is as natural as mother's milk you are talking about.

disability of your government

I wouldn't disagree on disability, but Russia-wise and inflexibility was a good choice.

but I can say that my president is an assho** and I wouldn't end up tortured or imprisoned

When you are in a bathroom with a pillow in your mouth. Yes, I know.

To Nathan: We can say that your president is an ass°°le also! Nobody will torture us for this.

Of course, in Russia you may even become a mayor of Moskow for that or NATO representative of Russia. I think you should do it more often, it is a well-paid job.

Democracy doesn't exist in Ukraine either.

You can say virtually whatever you want, print whatever you like without fear. It is not perfect, I agree, but I can say that my president is an assho** and I wouldn't end up tortured or imprisoned like will be the case with Russia. I listened to politicians from Russia saying in Ukranian media that we are so lucky being able to express our thoughts freely compared to the situation of free speech in Russia.

So please tell me how undemocratic regime of Russia (the thought I thoroughly share separately) affects you?

Sasha, it affects me as a neighbor of your country. The more democratic and open your country is, the less painful our economic and political relations are. And politics and economy affects me as well. Don't you think that it is not ok to hear Putin, Luzhkov and other hard balls of your politics constantly disturbing Ukrainian inner politics, coming over and claiming lands, "saving Russians who are under threat" etc.? Does it affect me? Of course it does.

We don't kill people on their own land

And Chechens? And what is the deal with Abkhasia region of Georgia? When there is one Russian in a foreign country and his rights are "threatened" (give me a break), you immediately put everything up side down.

Thank you, Sokrates, for ability to see that....
I think it's postings like that Sasha objects to...understandable..

Russia as it is right now is a huge threat. Democracy is non-existant, but this is only half of the problem. Its foreign policy is as outrageous as US'.

Btw, BB, I am not painting my country goody-goody and monsterize Russia. I want it to be a country with which a normal political relations are possible. But as it is right now, it is dangerous. And be silent to that is not care about the future. I do and I speak out. More on that read my post #19.

Afghanistan was 30 years ago for them. Chechnya maybe.

19 years to be correct. What about Georgia?

2 to Cossacks

Should we laugh together, Sokrates, or you like to do that alone? 2 battles? hahahah

Ukraine and Germany had fascist regimes and thats it for the relationship. Germans used Ukrainians and Ukrainians allowed themselves to be used and thats it.

Some Ukrainians cooperated with Germans to fight Poles and Russians in order to gain independance. When they realized that Germans aren't willing to help out, but on the other hand suppressed that movement, they began fighting against Germans as well. That's one of the reasons why BB's opas couldn't "march on the hostile territory" for too long. :)

Love / I can't trust Polish women any longer - where to meet a foreign girl? [123]

a big fat diet

I would rather say - big-BS-in-food-preventive diet

because cheap food has the fattening ingredients, little nutrients and "empty calories".

It just depends how lazy you are in the kitchen. I make my own food every day which is healthy, delicious and nourishing and is cheap. But when you eat out, it is a whole new story. To eat healthy, you would have to pay a bit (for rich that's exactly why they are in shape), otherwise, McDonalds and family will make you "super size".

"deeply intertwined history"

I said about wars which are part of our common history, isn't it? I am not trying to establish any relationship whatsoever with the Germany. All I said was that I comment on the Germanic pipe and its history only when there is a connection to Ukraine. That's all. If you are looking for suck-ups, search for someone else. Maybe, word "deeply" I used incorrectly, but the only reason I applied it was devastation it brought to both, nothing else. So, stop looking for s***.

you best get back to the physchologist mate.

I have to agree with you , Wroclaw. Tresmi, you are too wired. Take it easy. I was rejected too - so what? But the ladies that rejected you were, probably, stricken by your controlly and demanding personality even though you say you are not. Yes, you are. Fight your emotions a bit and you will find true love.

while I'm a romantic who could have even a very poverty-stricken girlfriend if she was arousing

Wow, you are deep!

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

I've read it too, Torq, but what it means is that name "Slav" comes much earlier from "slowo" or "slawa" and word "slave" appears only at the end of the 13th century as derivative from "Slav". So Slav doesn't come from "slave" , but vice versa.

And no...being the marching territory of foreign armies is not enough to earn a "special" place because of "deeply intertwined history"...nope...

How long did you march? ;) "Special" hahah. You think of all as trying to suck up to the Germany. Haha. Cool.

Of course I would be...

Normal person would be angry when something is stolen from him/her. Jealous is when YOU DON'T HAVE what OTHERS POSSESS.

As compared to the successful Ukraine, right!

No, it is not successful, but I don't see success of my country in being part of EU.

You mean as in "broke"?

Nope, I mean when it will be on its feet and normal economical relations are established. Being a part of EU is not what I see a key to Ukraine's success.

Really!

Well, ask your opas und omas.

Well...it's the US who is your biggest ally and who wants you in...most Europeans won't.
You are blaming the wrong guy here

They want to build a shield for their armor by my country. What is wrong with your notion of the world as allies? If you are an ally (which it is really not), does it mean you have to bent over? I think it is a policy of the Germany , not Ukraine.

slave (n.) Look up slave at Dictionary.com
c.1290, "person who is the property of another," from O.Fr. esclave, from M.L. Sclavus "slave" (cf. It. schiavo, Fr. esclave, Sp. esclavo), originally "Slav" (see Slav), so called because of the many Slavs sold into slavery by conquering peoples

I don't argue, Foreigner4, about the etymology.

Foreigner4:
Ever notice the connection between the words "slave" and "slavic?

Yes, and I noticed the connection between "German" and "germs" and "Italy" with "italics" as well as "Greece" with "grease".

I don't know Nat.

I know, it is a deep psychological factor and profound knowledge of psychiatric treatments is necessary.
Sasha, it is useless, you defend your country's policy no matter how unfair it is to others and I can understand that and on my part, I am not interested in mixing words as I did a second ago. I just want you to understand that I am for normal lives of all. Please, as a citizen of a country you love, be patriotic within your country's boundaries as I am and the world we live in will be beautiful.

Tell me more about it...when was the Ukraine ever something "special" to Germany???

"Special"? Hhahah. When the Germany was "special" to Ukraine? What are talking about? You want to say the the Germany wasn't in WW1 and WW2 which where part of my country's history as well. That's all I am saying. "Special" ?!! Hhahaha.

Jealous???

If I take something from you and give it to somebody else, would you be jealous?

But I can understand if youre miffed about Ossis...it's our Ossi chancellor after all who don't want either in the EU nor in the NATO you because she knows you mean only trouble!

I hope my country is not in EU ever. I don't want Ukraine to be part of it at all. And NATO, what is it? It is a joke fighting in Afghanistan, nothing more. I believe my country has enough military force to defend itself, if not, an alliance with some other countries would be ok as well. NATO is not reliable as many will absolutely support me in that. It follows US policy and nothing else. If it is in US interests to give off a country , it will. EU?! You are a rich conglomerate and I wish you good luck, but keeping independance of economical decisions and normal economical relations is enough for Ukraine than be part of something where you are a small piece called "Nothing".

Well, he wrote in German too...:)

I write in English, am I English? Well, it is a debate about who will have more heroes. At the end of the day we all gonna die and wild dogs with rabies will be pissing on our graves.

This "phenomenon" arose in your mind whereas the reality is somewhat different.

How? Is it called "inferiority syndrome" or "outskirts disease" in reality?

...as far as I remember we ended up in East Germany was because some nutters treated the Russians as "Untermenschen"...

Rafal is 100% correct - you, BB, is a semi-communistic nostalgic guy, who misses Bratwurst and easy life of before 1989. Whatever you say about Untermenschen and s*** is simply BS. If there were not forces on the west side of Berlin, Russian satelites would have ended in Portugal and Iceland. Soviet Union treated East Germany like a new-born child sucking the resorces from other countries and you probably enjoyed it. But not anymore, have to work now. This is where you come from.

How is your german again? You seem to know all about us....

I studied German, though I wouldn't say I remeber much now. But the only thing that I say about Germany is the pipe-line, not your history, which is deeply intertwined with Ukrainian in 20th century and I have some knowledge of as well. Where do I comment on anything else about your country?

History / Stolen hero of the forgotten war. [52]

Absolutely. If I am a Colombian and write a book about mountains in Chile in my native language, am I Spanish or Colombian? When someone is born in a country and writes about it - there should be no doubt of the part of literature contribution that person makes to. Gogol was born in Sorochinci, Ukraine and he wrote extensively about Ukraine, its people, culture and traditions. It is like to say that Copernicus was Roman for writing in Latin.

Sokrates

I like your "only 2 lost battles with Cossacks". You are hilarious. I think Communist propaganda would pay you loads of money if you became a historian :)

nation were invented by Polish imperialism."

disagree, Ukrainians are Polish property.

You are correct, Borka, in saying that retards will never get cured by traditional medecine.
They have no respect to themselves, they are not sure of themselves. I think that Russians have "complex of provinciality". They think that they live on the outskirts of nowhere and this is why they are constantly trying to depress the situation around them. I don't think so, but I am not Russian. Hope Sasha can explain that phenomenon. The other dude is a Polish kid , so I don't even comment.

Russia is the single greatest threat to civilization and European order

Thank you, Sokrates, for ability to see that. Germans will never appreciate it because it will never concern them before our own concerns.

I would definitely put Islam first...

Because you have not a slightest idea of threat, living in the heart of Europe, tidy and cosy. When you don't know the language, you can't understand mentality of these people. You don't listen to the news, neither read newspaper etc. All you get is "easy on Russia" reports by Western journalists and mass-media scared like Merkel to say anything against. Your ideas are built on romantic books of Dostoyewski and Pushkin were all is pretty or if not than pity-demanding - nothing else. And I don't see you will realize it ever like Sokrates or me do.

You have dependency on Russian oil and you continue to defend the project. Why don't you diversify? I am tired of repeating that and you never answer this question.

But during the next years we can't change the facts as they are and one better acts on them!

How long will you build the Nord Stream? 6 months? a year? two years? No - more than that. Invest in something that will make Germany and Poland not dependant on Russia. Though from what I saw you are defending all the time, it smells fishy whether you are truly German ;)

even unable to care for the pipelines, we have to repair them for ourselves...thank you!

It is not done for free, EU will receive discount through gas transportation that will cover all your expenses + interest, BB - you are welcome!

If your "enemy" is essential for your "wellbeing" isn't it crazy to call him "enemy" in the first place?

THAT is crazy and irrational, so polish!

What is irrational about it? If your enemy has air for breathing and you need it to survive, but he demands to sit and sh*t on your head in exchange, is he a friend? This is so German - inability to think through!
