History / Question about Post WW2 Polish Jews etc [42]

Really? In my opinion this just plays into the hands of the many that believe another archetypeal stereotype— that all Poles are anit-Semitic.

I don't see anything wrong in keeping paintings with Jews for good luck... and If somebody is really desperately looking for "Polish anti-semitism", he will "find" It no matter what we do.

History / Polish Anti-semitism - origins? [186]

One of the chapters posits that while poles commonly broke various rules imposed by the germans.

Nonsense. In most of Europe collaboration governments were helping Gerries to fuck up Jews in organized way, so anybody, who is pointing out Polish antisemitism/Polish collaboration etc. (except specialistic publications devoted to that subject alone) is either a fucking moron or a Polonophobe or both.

History / Prussian History [29]

Post their names and location where they lived before emigrating and we can tell you with +95% probability If they were Polish or German. About the census - maybe she didn't know enough English, so somebody just wrote what was in immigration papers - came from Prussia, so must be "Prussian".

History / Prussian History [29]

I have found that Prussia was kind of a mixed race country...

Orginally Prussians were a Baltic tribe (like Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians) but their country (located where is now Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and Russian Kaliningrad region) was conquered by Teutonic Knights in the Middle Ages and they were exterminated/Germanized. Later Prussia became the name of the largest and most influencial of German states (as there were many of them before unification in 1870) which occupied parts of Poland as Poland between late 18th century and 1918 didn't exist as an independent country - was partitioned between Russia, Austria-Hungary and Prussia... Most of people living in Prussia were Germans, most of the rest were Poles as some Polish lands belonged to that state...

History / Question about Post WW2 Polish Jews etc [42]

Not sure what he relevance of posting this picture is?

Many people here believe that having this kind of stuff brings good luck in finances. Here are some more: obrazy-galeria.pl/p,pl,40,zyd+liczacy+pieniadze.html

up until 2001 almost 1,200 books (mainly Polish language) were published just about the Warsaw Rising 1944 alone.......

And how many of them are well known abroad now ? One. Wrote by Davis.

but sadly there is no money for a film

GDP of Poland is a few hundred billion $ a year and Poles abroad have billions more. There is no money (either public or private) for such things because few people find It important enough and that's exactly my point.

News / SHOULD POLAND/EUROPE BE WORRIED ABOUT RUSSIA?? [90]

Than you don't have right to tell us whether we can put our defence system in Kaliningrad region or not. Certainly we can and we should.

Go for It. Put there a thousand nuclear warheads. The more often you make idiots out of yourselves, the better.

History / Question about Post WW2 Polish Jews etc [42]

the Jewish survivors of the Holocaust appear to have had a greater voice and been better compensated by the German state than other victim groups such as non-Jewish Poles

That's true but Jews worked hard to make that happen. Poles did very little, so now we shouldn't be surprised that others usually don't give a shit about our history. Just look, who is the best known "Polish" historian abroad - Norman Davis, a Welsh guy, that fact alone shows that something is a damn wrong here.

History / Question about Post WW2 Polish Jews etc [42]

I could never figure out how Jews gain so much wealth post World War II.

What do you mean ? Generally most of Jew wealth was generated in America. They dominated some very profitable branches of economy like finances, media or Hollywood and as America was getting richer, so they did. Russia is a different case - many of the richest people in Russia are of Jew origin and generally they just stole ex-state owned assets but they aren't rather treated like "one of their own" by other Jews, so I don't think that their money should be included in the global Jew wealth.

Work / Teaching English in Lublin. [23]

Hi.

What would be the best way to go about finding clients for private lessons?

Easy and quite good way should be local editions of ads sites like gumtree, which looks like doesn't have Lublin section yet but there are similar like: lublin.olx.pl/about.php or electronic edition of newspapers or local ads sites - It took me about 5s to find something like this: lubliniak.pl

What is the going rate for private lessons? I would prefer to teach 1-4 people.

It depends If you are a native speaker, on your teaching experience etc. but I think 30-70PLN for 1h of 1:1 lessons and let's say 10-25PLN from each person If there was a group of 4 people.

Where would be a good location for lessons.

Your place or client's home. The first one should be a bit cheaper.

Life / Illegal drugs enjoyed by many of the young male Poles. Availability? [24]

Countries that have managed to reduce the use of street heroin have done it with draconian laws (Singapore, Malaysia) or a very expensive programme

There's the "third way" and that's what I think is happening here - don't look at ddicted with compassion, don't help them, spit at them, they will die quickly and others will think twice.

News / another proof that Poland is a confessional state [18]

do you have any comments about this message?

Yes. Usual sensational bullshits spread by stupid bolsheviks, who think that Vatican do nothing else than think how to make Poland its colony.

Life / Illegal drugs enjoyed by many of the young male Poles. Availability? [24]

It is my belief that has many return to Poland they will take their desire to use drugs with them

Drugs have been in Poland in large quantities since a really long time, so that's really not a new thing. Poland is also one of the biggest producers of synthetic drugs in the whole world, most is for export but a lot for domestic consumption.

Real Estate / Real Estate hits a new low in Poland [86]

Please advise how you have come to this conclusion Grzegorz

Well, in short words I hear and read that this is what smart people think and I don't see any reason why I shouldn't agree with them... But that's 2009 alone, later we may only guess.

Life / Kashubia, Kashebe and Kashubians. . . [23]

Kashubs were one of groups, which created Poland but later for long time were outside of the mainstream and also under Germanic influence, so now have a bit different culture, customs and seriously different language. Vast majority think about themselves as a sub-group of Poles but some as a separated nationality...

Life / Kashubia, Kashebe and Kashubians. . . [23]

But Gunter Grass seems a true German to me, doesn`t he? Did he ever consider himself Kashub?

I noticed that some Gerries hide their Gerrism and call themselves Kashubian, Pommeranian, Silesian etc.

How many people actually speak it though?

50-100k but It's hard to say for how many of them that's really the main language. Even in Kashubia It is something like Irish in Ireland.

They should have some representative in the government.

? They vote like any other citizens. Why should they have any special rights ?
