History / Poland between 1989 - 2008... [7]

2000 a month is plenty for you to have a good life.
It's spending money for ya and many professional jobs pay only 2000pln a month.

Love / Soldier born in Poland / living in England. Fiance going away for ages. Complicated... [205]

1. if he could get better pay as a fire man, well then?

Most soldiers, or infantry even, take this life because they don't have other options, and some take it because they want to do their part. I dont see whats wrong with being a soldier.

2. It does depend on which side of the fence you are on? unjust wars happen.

Wars happen yes, illegal ones too i agree, but without an army, what would happen? shall we speak french or spanish?

3. I do not disagree most of the time with backing.

These are often young men, i might not agree with the political focus, but these men fight for what(true or not) believe in. They deserve our support because its their lives at risk, not ours.

Do you support the army in Iraq? I will probably get crucified for this one.

No you wont be crucified, you have a right to an opinion like the rest. I don't support this war, but ihave 2 key fact of what we should do...

1. we went in there, took over, shouldnt we be responsible for what will happen there?

2. No matter where our soldiers are, they do th worst job ever, for shockingly low pay. 11k a year...fireman 36k a year?

Therefore, those men in places they dont deserve to be, could atleast have our backing.

Financial aspects are far from his mind, Justysias, you will have our backing and company through such a difficult time....it will fly by;)

Explain to me how it is duty for a Scottish guy to have bought a car and the only way he can see of paying it back is through leaving his, wife to be, to go to Iraq for 6 months?
Ok even if it has nothing to do with the car, he is going to Iraq for six months, he is leaving his wife to be, for what?

I know your point exactly, but should a soldier strike because of his standard of living?....yes, if it was possible, i agree.

Should a soldier die in a needless war? I think you should ask the soldier. We can work as teachers, nurses, ect...but who would put their lives on the line to serve in Iraq.

This guy has, and i wish him well, and a steady return. Good Luck.

I couldnt imagine my life without her. I guess i was young at the time, but being away from her was hardest thing i have ever done. But she was stronger than me(which im not embarrassed to admit). and she told me to go do my duty, knowing that made me work harder, because she would be so proud of me. It wasnt as bad as i thought. Each week i had a video call with her, we talked on the phone whenever i could, but having her support meant i could do my job properly.

I went throught the same thing. Though it was my gf who persuaded me to go, and i hated the fact of going:( i tried Pm'ing about what things you can do and think about. There are still many more options in the army your bf can consider. Im guessing he "feels" he needs to do this, though trust me on one thing. He doesn't love you any less, it will break his heart as much as yours.

Food / Polish (but can be just any other) recipes for chicken dishes anyone? [23]

Oh! The Cheese! Mmmmmm! Cheese!

Another idea is to stuff with a good brie, and roasted red peppers(sun dried tomoato's are fine, but used less as they can overpower the chicken). Of course you can wrap in a good smoked steaky bacon, or leave the skin on and baste with goose fat.

Another combo is blue cheese and leaks.

Life / How do you Poles feel about the fact that so many Poles work abroad? [145]

The british are a very tolerant people, the vast majority have no problem with other cultures. They do have a problem with millions of immigrants oming to our country and changing our way of living, culture, society and infrastructure. etc.

Then you're in the minority then....who would have figured that out!
