UK, Ireland / Poles to stay or not to stay [in Ireland] - is there a question? [25]

u seem to have forgotten very quickly how poor you were in the past. in fact, plenty of the Irish were immigrating to the US of were dying or hunger...

(BTW-thats not a question but a statement)

not at all - we remember, its the knowledge of the past set us up for the future. dying or hunger, that was more than 100 years ago... the emigration Ireland had in the 20th C was economic and not poverty to that degree. rather along the same lines as Poland today - its economic.

I am very disappointed to see lazy Irish youngsters not willing to go ahead with their education....

(BTW-thats not a question either but a statement, no matter)

despite the fact there are more people in third level education in Ireland than ever - that Irelands PRIMARY industry is the service sector, a highly skilled sector of educated people.

How are things in Wroclaw that you accuse the Irish of all nationalities in the world?

I have several questions to the Irish:

turns out you only had statements - but ive responded to them nonetheless
slainte!

Life / Homosexuals in Poland / Hands off (PETITION) [797]

and he said he was sorry folks - its under the bridge now

though i disagree with you calling us intolerant as were the one's who are not out against homosexuals thereby - making us the tolerant ones and the people who are against it de facto intolerant - a simple point of order and nothing personal G

well my friends made that remark about dublin suburbs (signage)
and i said, well the signs in the suburbs are at the begining of streets and not at every single lane entrance - they still refused to take that as acceptable - though i later pointed out - polish suburbs were just as bad :D

its just one of those little quirks

2 cents

experience suggests that nothing the vatican proclaims should be taken as gospel

ain't that the truth! RE the tolerance march - the church could stand to be a bit more tolerant in its stances towards homosexuality. they dont need to promote it but they dont need to attack it either.

I know some wont agree with that statement but again i say that we all have the right to privacy in the bedroom and not to impose our standards of what a persons sexuality should be.

RE the parades - ive posted my views already in this thread

Quoting: Admin
it is not possible that 100% of all users approve something.

The salient point

Some topics go so long and so far that its not on the original topic and its only right to create an appropriate topic for it. So that people who stumble on the thread can talk about it and not something way off.

There was always 'policing' it just became more apparant as more posts are being made the last 3 months than 2006.

This forum has more posts this month than any previous month in the forums history.

IT is not possible that 100% of all users approve something.

Hm, Daffy, so would you back a fascist parade?

your trying to make me a hypocrite puzzler :D id allow any democratic parade that was peaceful, law-abiding and not hostile to the people and state as is laid down in the laws

if you meet those sociatal criteria, id even let you march an anti daffy parade.
We life in a democratic society and the fascists would love nothing MORE than to be denied a parade to claim it is UNdemocratic etc.

I just wouldnt attend such a parade - ignoring them is more hurtful to them than giving them what they want - attention. and if you deny them a parage based on there politics alone - you give them that attention.

however - there are valid concerns that the people and law can democratically object to and usually are upheld that such a parade is incitement of hate and the chances of violence etc is high and on those grounds such a parade cannot happen as they breach the requirements.

Love / What kind of person did your parents or guardians tell you to find? [38]

if i loved them, i love them. I wouldnt be so shallow as to deny my love for money
it just means i must work

It is disgusting and disgraceful to marry only for money and not love. heaven forbid you'd have children in a loveless marraige, pity the children.

Money is not the deciding factor in love and marraige. if you love - you find a way to make it work.

Love / What kind of person did your parents or guardians tell you to find? [38]

she is my bestfriend too AE ;) i think this is why i love her to level i wouldnt attempt to describe id do it so much injustice!

witek, yes, you need money, but it doesnt buy you happieness or love. i would not be with a person for money. id be with them if i loved them.

love is not common sense

News / Poland's overall view on the US? [38]

i gotta say fisz, ive nothing to add to it. its a topic i am not able to add to in any meaningful way. sorry bud.

to be on topic id have to say id have thought that polands view would be the same as ireland as so many of us both emmigrated there and share an affinity to the states and vice versa.

however like ireland today - i can see how our views have been strained by the foreign policy of the last 8 years.
