Best yet - figured out the family tree - Polish Jews that put Russian as their nationality. So I have just found out that I am not 1/2 Russian, but 1/2 Polish. That makes more sense because my family is friendlier and happier than most of the Russians I've ever met.
The rest genetically, 1/4 black, 1/8 Irish, 1/8 Cherokee Indian
I'm 1/4 Polish, 1/4 Irish and 1/2 English.....yet I've always seemed to identify more with my Irish & Polish roots....lol
I went to Poland for the first time last August on a whirlwind trip to meet some family and plan on going back many more times. It was such a wonderful country....and the people couldn't be more awesome =)
Hey there Polish_Chick14! I am Mr. Grunwald From my mother side im 50% Norwegian no doubt From my father side I am partly, German, Lithuanian, Polish (Maybe even Ukrainian since my grand granddad lived in Kiev o_O) I officially say to everyone I am 1/2 Norwegian and 1/2 Polish some even consider me 100% Polish here in Norway! xD Very ironic truely yeah. I consider myself a patriot of both Norway and Poland, since I don't meet many anti-Norwegians in Norway I have no big need of battling anti-Norwegians :=)
More problems with the Polish thing! And yeah I know Polish :=) Dad taught me it since I was little kid (Huge family on Polish side so it was important)
Also I have anscestry from a noble family "Szlachta" the knight kinda part :=) Had some areas but the communists stole it yaargh! Also my family participated in 2 Polish uprisings! (1 in 19th century another one in 1944-1945)
my ma was born in poland, shes polish, my pops was born in canada his parents were both polish, i was also born a canuck so i have 2 citezenships (polish and canadian) but the one i really want is american citizenship (ive been living here in usa for 12 years) so idk i consider myself to be polish raised, canadian born, and american at heart!

Both parents were Polish, but although my name is unusual in Poland, it is virtually unknown outside Poland. I can't find many close matches with other names, but the closest match appears to be Serbian. I've also found my actual name in Hungarian texts (but it didn't appear to be surname, just a Hungarian word - I found a translation). So there's a possibility that I may have some ancestry from one of those parts of Europe too (which would explain why I don't really look Polish, lol), but it must have been a very long time ago, and on my father's side.
