Can anyone help in directing my search for information relating to my mother's
past as a underground courier-soldier for the Polish Home Army. The only fact i know is that
she was taken to Stalag V1 C camp in Oberlangen in 1944 and stayed until liberation in April 1945. Her name was Marina Leonarda Woroniecka.

Hi Fred and welcome to the forum.

Have you seen this article? polishresistance-ak.org/16%20Article.htm

If she was decorated for her service would there be any form of service record ?

Respect to her and her colleagues.

Thank you for the article. Yes, i have seen it. Do you have any ideas how one finds out about a military service record? She was 17 when she was decorated with the vertuti militari. There must be some way of uncovering information on this.

There are some members here who I am sure would only be too happy to help, unfortunately I dont have the skills.

Barney, Sjam and a few others have written a good posts in this thread.

Your Mother was a hero, if there are any stories that you would like to pass on we would love to hear them. It is understandable if she didnt talk about it much tho.

Good Luck.

Polish Order of the Virtuti Militari Recipients

I had a search for Marina Woroniecka (also Woroniecki just in case) but couldnt find her, I also searched for Grabowska and nothing, some Grabowski though and finally I searched for Viets, again nothing.

All I could find was This Obituary.

You can do a search Here but it costs 5 dollars
