Ham stringbean green bean soup

Looking for polish soup recipe pronounced FOSS made by my nana. It is made from ham bone, string (green) beans, sour cream, vinegar and ??? The main spices are salt pepper and margoram. Please give Polish spelling and recipe? And whatever else you know?

it could actually be grochówka or possibly fasolowa but first is made of peas and the latter is of white beans. look throught he forums.. both recipes and more can be found here.

I think you mean kwas, aka kwaśna zupa, once popular in the peasant cookery of the Wielkopolska region. Is that where your ancestors are from?

If this is the same soup I am thinking of, I encountered it for the first time amongst the descdendants of late 19th/early20th century immigrants from Wielkopolska in Michigan. Perhaps it is still prepared somewhere in Poland.
