I have obviously missed something (due to my laptop being fed with some beer and dying in progress i haven't been online much) as i have only just noticed that all the translation threads that are not recent anymore disappeard. Plus the count of my posts had been significantly reduced as well cos i posted quite a lot in that area of PF... What's the crack now?? What goes next??

tell me about it, I lost +500 posts in one night, when the language subforums were re-organized :(

I lost +500 posts in one night

And they were high quality posts at that. Thanks for all your efforts!

I guess we're going to have more repetition of translation requests in the future - except we can't just tell someone to go to the search facility lol. All those translators' work - up for a new batch? ;p

I think its a hint to use Google more. lol

Soon it will be, Polish forums webpage. lol
With only what THEY want on it.
When they delete.. ( Sorry, I mean re-arrange ) Sections of the site.
You loose the quantity of posts you made. But it helps to keep things tidy.

The fact that 99.9.9999999% of the people coming for translations might be looking for the exact posts they rearranged.
Means nothing.

So expect multiple requests for re-translations.
Which will, In due course be Re-arranged also. Loosing the translator posts.
And wasting His/Her time.

I noticed this. I thought I was being punished by an angry mod but it appears as if they have been archived. Shame really because the old threads were a good source for translations. I'm sure a number of the new threads will be duplicates of the ones that are no longer...

No lol, I mean is it archived, because we'd have access then..? Maybe :/ I only know one other forum and they have archives available for viewing anyway [but not adding to etc.] .

Admin administered the snip hehe :)

I don't know. Maybe I just made that up. Either way, they are not there which is a shame but hey ho.

Maybe implement an importance sticky thing for posts. Not for every single translation, but a post in which there is an exceptional explanation of a concept, or if there is an very well written article on grammatical topics or Polish linguistics. The stickies won't bump the threads to the top, but just to mark so that it won't be deleted.

stickies do stick to the top though.. that is what that word means.

If admin wanted to free some space on the server he should've deleted all these ancient personal ads here that still after like 2 years attract all them weirdos to this forum. Why delete the entire translation section, the threads there covered about every sector of the Polish language!

totally agree, this is a polish forum, so surely the language becomes before the weirdo's :)

Why not make a lot of room on the server and scrap the singles section all together :) just a thought you know :)

I cant help but think. It defeats the Whole object of having a translation/Language section.
Why not just call it Americanforums.

scrap the singles section all together :)

yes we know how much you'd like that, you personal add hijacker and weirdo-marriage-seekers exterminator you ;)

It defeats the Whole object of having a translation/Language section.

maybe admin is going for quantity of people visiting the forum (weirdos looking for a wife and a visa) rather than the quality of posts (translations)??

actually the quality of posts has definatelly gotten better since I joined 2 years ago.

I am sure that ADM knows what they are doing.

I'm sure he does. But I'm not always sure he understands the consequences ;)

It says I post more in Introductions than anything else, although I rarely welcome new people these days (how mean is that?).
It says I don't post as much in the Off-Topic 'Dining Room', although I still think I use this far too much.

Worst of all, my favourite translation thread has been destoryed.

TRANSLATIONS FOR TREE AND SHRUB GROWERS.

Thanks to all the helpful people: JustysiaS, plk123, Polishgirltx, Krzysztof, z_darius, RJ_cdn, probably others whose names I can't remember off the top of my head. Your help was amazing. Unfortunately I hadn't finished working through everything you all helped me with, so much of your effort has benn, at least partly, WASTED.

I asked Admin and he said a mod probably deleted it accidentally.

Plenty of utter rubbish remains though.

Woohoo! That is not a problem then! They can restore the data from the backup.

Admin, you do regular backups, don't you?
