Yep.

Well, than it's your problem. No way we can understand each other.

Well, than it's your problem.

No, it's my way of avoiding them.

No way we can understand each other.

Not if we don't try...
The situation is, men fight and justify their fights on the basis of their manhood, something I don't profess to understand. But out of observation, it's usually something very trivial that sets guys off (in most cases) and I imagine they wouldn't be able to explain why they get so agro anyway...

Of course women fight too, but for the purposes of this discussion I am talking about men having it out with each other as they do, most commonly, after a few beers and when the dark side takes over...

I would never (anymore) step in when that is taking place... unless I really felt that both guys were so drunk as to not be able to exact any sort of damage to me.

I try not to defend or get involved in any sort of violence... Because it makes everyone a victim.

Hey, if it'll make you feel any better, it happens to Dutch people too.

you don't need to make me feel any better A J. If you read my other posts, you will find that I enjoyed the rest of my stay in Rotterdam.

since Rotterdam *is* a big city

thanks for telling me, I didn't notice when lived there...

The aim of my post was to show that what happened to Maxine can happen anywhere, that's it.

The difference being that the OP was attacked due to being different, and you were robbed. It seems like everyone that looks different has a racist story to tell in Poland. Is that to say that all Poles are racist? Of course not, but there is a very vocal (and violent) minority that tends to rear it's head pretty often.

Really? As I had said, I was attacked by 3 black girls and I am Polish. I could as well say they attacked me because I'm blond with blue eyes, hence different then them.

Also, I wasn't robbed, I was attacked. The aim of these girls was to beat me up for fun, I'm 100% sure about that, they stole my bag just "by the way".

I actually very much enjoyed my stay in Rotterdam, it's one of my favourite cities.

Then you must know very few cities. Rottendam is by far the worst city in the Netherlands.
It's ugly, dirty, smelly, criminal, has many muslims and blacks and most of the remaining whites belong to the lowest classes of society. It's basically a dump place for black and white trash.

I regret having lived there.

The worst Polish city probably has more nice people than Rotten-dam, Netherlands.

I was sure someone would say that, but I really had a good time in Rotterdam. I met a lot of great people, I went out and had loads of fun, one of my best friends live there...

I didn't say Rotterdam was one of the most beautiful cities, but one of my favourite ones, mam sentyment do Rotterdamu (don't know how to say it in eng).

I would never (anymore) step in when that is taking place.. Because it makes everyone a victim.

You didn't think that I was talking about defending PL men with my own body, did you Ashley? Cause I was just talking about defending them in a discussion, on a forum etc.

I've never been robbed ;) but if i were gay enough to carry a handbag i would feel more safe to walk in any Polish city at night then in a random multicultural city in Western Europe.

i was just walking in the street last summer and i got beaten by 3 NORMAL guys they started with swearing punshing and kicking my face and head

Man, that's every country, you sound like that's the first time you got in a fight. You can't show that you're scared. Next time you see they're getting ready to attack you go at them first attack the biggest one.

You certainly don't need to be in paradise to have fun... quite the opposite.

Hmm, well either way it's taking sides and condoning violence. There's no sides when both parties are acting out of stupidity.

I'm glad you survived your mugging incident and can put it behind you... Do you still hold grudges?

Then, maybe it's because our men are more tough and actually know how to fight? Hence Polisih men get in fight rather than get beaten up, while the delicate foreigners rather get their fragile butts kicked?

No dude its just because they are to much , if champ of poland will walk by his own in the street by his own without group he will be like mouse even if he is walking in his own street so imagine what he would do in other country ... its enough that i still live in poland and i am brave enough to walk in the street with raised head !!! and when i came back to my country for a while i saw too many polish guys and i didnt even try to touch them thats honor of a men

And please be honest.

hahaha, I hope there is more than 10% of nice ppl left in Rotterdam, and no, they were not students. I was a student at the time, and worked in a factory in Barendrecht to make some money during summer holidays. The nice ppl worked in the factory with me :)

Nah i don't think so there's some big crazy guys in Poland, especially from the rougher neighborhoods.

I agree (for the first time with Ashley) :)

It's been a long time now, so I did put it behind me, but for quite a long time, I was pretty scared to walk the streets alone.

I don't hold grudges anymore and I never thought that black ppl were violent or thieves or anything like that.

Generally Poles are always right since they are Slavs. So when they beat you they are probably right. Here they are popular since they are cousins of the glorious Serbs and the mighty Russians.

Krakow, has benefitted from the stag parties and many businesses are generating income, employing people and paying taxes. You promote your city in this manner and the above is the fallout. Get real Nika.

Krakow is an international student town, that promotes itself as a stag party destination and budget holiday destination. Prague, Amsterdam and other European cities had the same problem. So its time to clean up the city or shut up. But don't complain and expect to take the money.

Budget being the predominant factor, the only time ive felt uneasy in Poland was in Krakow, i popped into a bar on my own and in there were the dregs of English society, about 15 of them - p1ssed and extremely loud. Frankly i was ashamed of them. Usually i chat with stag guys but these were different you can tell the trouble makers.

It doesn't hurt to try.

If you read my other posts, you will find that I enjoyed the rest of my stay in Rotterdam.

I can't always read everything. I'm sure you've frequented PF long enough to understand that there are always a few fanatics here who will take any comment and blow it out of proportions, so that's why I felt like speaking my mind.

Then, maybe it's because our men are more tough and actually know how to fight? Hence Polisih men get in fight rather than get beaten up, while the delicate foreigners rather get their fragile butts kicked?

Haha! Well, in that case, I'm happy to tell you that I've never seen a Polish guy win from a Dutch guy.

thanks for telling me, I didn't notice when lived there...

I'm sure you realize there are people from all over who read this forum, and since far from everyone lives there..

;)

The situation is, men fight and justify their fights on the basis of their manhood, something I don't profess to understand.

Well, I'll help you understand. If a man doesn't defend himself, he'll be viewed as a weakling, and more guys (Usually cowards.) will come along to take advantage of that whenever they feel like they have to prove something. Also, he'll be viewed as a weakling or a complete doormat by most girls and women if he doesn't respond. (Don't even try to deny it!) So whatever you call trivial, the consequences of not responding to a guy who's trying to make you look like a homo aren't always so trivial. (Especially not in the smaller communities, where everyone knows everyone.)

But out of observation, it's usually something very trivial that sets guys off (in most cases) and I imagine they wouldn't be able to explain why they get so agro anyway...

You could say that in most cases, men are trying to dominate or to compete with eachother to make themselves look better in front of the girls, and since most of the girls do everything they can to keep it this way, men will stay this way. (Congratulations!)

;P

Budget being the predominant factor

Exactly, the figure I had thrown at me was an estimated 500 bars, restaurants in the stare miasto of krakow. Now thats a lot of booze to shift in order to pay the overheads and Krakow is not a cheap place to run a business. Its not the students that are keeping these places in business...

Stop the stags and the budget tourists who is going to replace them?

The Krakow tourist authority better have a plan.

I completely agree with this way of reasoning.
Only the big premise is missing , and we know it all here ;)
