Hey all,
I'm a bit nervous and am hoping some of you could provide direction.
I'm 28 years old and a US Citizen living in Warsaw, teaching English. I have a 27 year old Polish girlfriend. I'd like for her to come visit my family with me this summer for a month. We live together and would both be returning to Poland at the end of July. We both have full time jobs. She has been at her current job for 2 years.
She has a B2 visa interview scheduled for Thursday, April 3.
I'm unsure if she should say that I'm her boyfriend or not, or just a friend. I've read the opinion of some people that saying being in a relationship with an American (even one living in Poland) will hinder her chances of getting approved as the officer will see this as reason for her to stay.
I see two routes:
1. Provide a letter of invitation from me and my family, saying that she'll stay with us but will return with me at the end of July as we're in a relationship and I have a job in Poland as well as her. I would provide a copy of my contract with my employer. This would hopefully show with her own letter of employment from her Polish employer that she is tied to Poland. While she also has ties to me, I have ties to Poland so she's obviously be coming back.
2. Don't mention me at all. Have a letter of invitation from my family saying she is simply a family friend. If asked about me she say I am a friend and will be showing her around Buffalo, NYC, and DC.
I'm completely at a loss as what to do here. Please provide your experiences/opinions
