Poland Parliamentary elections 2015

Whatever K's father did or didn't is irrelevant now.

I agree, but I have little time for witchhunts and political character assassinations.

Funny that the same guys get furious when Tusk's father service in Whermacht or genocide committed by Michnik-Schechter's bro are mentioned...

Sane people would rather move on than obsess over people's family histories. But if we're going to treat people badly because of their family connections, then it's only fair to demand the truth.

I'm not interested in family histories. I'm interested in policy. PiS are in proponents of big government and top down policies and appeal to people who want a Big Daddy to save them. I'm in favor long term bottom up change in society where people take responsibility for their lives rather than look to Big Daddy for an allowance and demand transparency in government.

Let's talk about that and not whose daddy misbehaved in what way.

Indeed. The thing with PiS is just how many of their policies involve more, not less regulation. An example - PiS want to make sure that only films that agree with their view of history are funded, with anything deemed "unpatriotic" not qualifying for funding regardless of artistic merit. Which means more garbage like "mgła" and not much else.

Likewise with public TV, where they plan to bring TVP and Polskie Radio directly under Governmental control, with it being used as a mouthpiece for the government - instead of what everyone wants, which is to completely free TVP/Polskie Radio from governmental interference.

I'm so glad that it's 11 more days and we will stop seeing your "amazing" political analysis :-)

Don't worry, we'll be too busy celebrating another anti-PiS victory :)

What has it got to do with you.? You don't live here. Delph does, and has to suffer the ****. The **** that your country produces in copious amounts. Still. Because it is still communist in thinking a lot of the time.
delphiandomine  86 | 17823

Well, what can you expect when the party leading in the polls takes their political philosophy straight from the PZPR "how to" manual.
Wulkan  - | 3136

Because it is still communist in thinking a lot of the time.

It's the left wing who are communist, not the right wing.

Don't worry, we'll be too busy celebrating

More like crying, but I don't want to see that either, I have empathy even for people like you.

leading in the polls

So leading in the polls is a flaw and fault? Did you say the same when POO were in teh lead?
delphiandomine  86 | 17823
15 Oct 2015 /  #550
It's the left wing who are communist, not the right wing.

Keep trying with that line, but we all know that the right wing in Poland is horrifically socialist in reality. Their desire to control everything from the top-down, their obsession with ensuring the "correct" narrative - it's all straight from the PZPR handbook on how to run a good Party.

More like crying, but I don't want to see that either, I have empathy even for people like you.

Crying? The only result that would make me cry would be a majority for PiS. Any other outcome is a victory. PiS+Kukiz would be hysterically amusing - we just need to sit back and watch them destroy themselves.

So leading in the polls is a flaw and fault?

What's wrong with leading in the polls?

The only problem is that they've taken a lot of their policies straight from the PZPR guide to making promises that you don't intend to keep.

I am not a fan of PIS or PO but PIS is clearly the lesser evil. PO would sell Polands soul for a few extra Euros.

Indeed, luckly most of people in Poland do realise that.

@Whocares: I tend to agree. I really hate PiS because of their relationship with the Church, because of their homophobia and more generally because of their backwards societal positions but I also think that PO would sell Poland's a..ss. to the devil for a few extra coins.

Personally I do not care about whom shall win on 10 days as my life won't change any bit and if I were Polish, I would vote NEITHER for PiS NOR for PO. Yet, I think that after a few years in ANY country, it's good to change as people start getting fed up with status quo.

Anyhow, any local goverment has very little power in EU so no sweat ;). No need to get emotional over an election! ;)

It's not about church, I don't care about church, it's about not letting PO making Poland another Sweden...

PO would fit me if they stopped "worrying" only about the rich and start "worrying" about the whole Polish population. What I like though about PO is that they don't bother us with religion.

Whereas PiS will just steal it for the sake of a few Euro.

The stench of sleaze and corruption around PiS is overwhelming.

sleaze and corruption around PiS

Only to horse-blinkered POO fanatics oblvious to POO's 500 scams, lies and unkept promises!

Poolonius 3, why do you want the Big Government party (PiS) to win?

Does Big Government bring less corruption?

Do you really like a party that presumes to tell people how to live their private lives?

Does Big Government bring less corruption?

Big government doesn't necessarily bring corruption; however, PIS brings corruption. Just look at the way their most senior elected official was promptly exposed as having defrauded the Polish tax-payer. And then look at the way PIS reacted to that exposure. The good thing is that I'm sure some voters will remember that reaction when voting.

Do you really believe that those voters will outnumber those who remember all the things done by PO?

Big Government party

Preferable is a Good Government Party -- one that gets rid of the POO bridge table of mafia oligarchs, former special service types, compliant media and corrupt officials. That's what RP IV was all about.

It's quite interesting those who shout the most on Polishforum seem to know the least.
The policies of PO and PIS on religion do not differ, it is just that PO have more atheists and agnostics in their midst. The world would be a sad and unhappy place if all you do is spend your time denouncing the beliefs of other.

The policies of PO and PIS on religion do not differ

Of course they differ. PO want rational, sensible policies towards religion, whereas PiS want a Franco-style social contract where the Church tells them which laws to pass and which laws not to pass.

PO want rational, sensible policies

You still haven't provided any evidence for that accusation.

Anyway, given that the current occupant of the Palace is someone that's known to have defrauded the public, shouldn't you be spending your time asking him to do the honourable thing and resign?

Good news! The latest survey gives PiS & associates a chance to go it alone:
ZP (United Right -- hip, hip, hurray!) 39% (239 seats)
PO 30
ZL (ex-commies & assorted scum) 7.9 (and out of the running!)
PSL & KORWIN each 5.5

Associates? PiS has no track record of working with anyone successfully. If PiS needs associates they will fail. Period.

Associates?

FYI PiS is running with Gowin and Ziobro both under separate party logos. Here is yet another survey:
ZP (PiS & allies) 40%
PO 24%
ZL (e-commies & libertine scum) 9%
KORWIN 7%
Kukiz and PSL 6% each

As election day approaches all the PO's anti-PiS smear tactics and Kopcz running in circles like a chicken with its head cut off are cutting little ice with voters. PiS support is inching it way up. The glorious 4th Republic is looming!

Polonius, you do realise that the poll posted above...

ZP (United Right -- hip, hip, hurray!) 39% (239 seats)
PO 30
ZL (ex-commies & assorted scum) 7.9 (and out of the running!)
PSL & KORWIN each 5.5

Means that a mere 1.5% swing from PiS to PO as well as a mere 0.1% to ZL would result in a loss for PiS? That's well within the margin of error.

The polls are far, far too close to tell, and more to the point...

FYI PiS is running with Gowin and Ziobro both under separate party logos.

... you honestly think Gowin (with his strong views on economics) is going to support a very socialist PiS? He's going to demand fiscal prudence as part of his support, and PiS will struggle to keep their promises as a result.

Kaczyński having to rely on Ziobro and Gowin sounds like comedy gold.

We all have to suffer the **** since 8 years.

Funnily enough, you were previously using insulting words towards PiS.

I think that the whole thing could be provoked by "ducks" to make Andrew more submissive.

Heck, while we're at it, another pro-PiS poster on here...

I like the other guy, shame he was from the socialist party (PiS).

It believes in the strong economic role of central government, high taxation, sucking up to the Silesian miners, as many subsidies for the poor as possible (while taxing them with the other hand).

Funny how these people are now pretending to be huge supporters of PiS.
