Travel / Requirements for bringing a Dog into Poland [30]

Merged:

Bringing dog to Poland

I'm thinking about spending next summer in Poland. I have 2 dogs one being a puppy at 10 months old and the other just turned 3. My 3 year old flies with me all over the U.S. Shes done search and rescue training as a pup and is an emotional support animal. The dog has done 20+ flights now and shes damn amazing just sleeps and chews on her antler. I've done some quick research and it looks like that there inst any quarantine required for dogs. Is this true?? Does she really just have to pass the rabies shot and thats it? Also how dog friendly is Poland?? She comes to work every night with me and to restaurants seating outside of course but I take her almost everywhere with me. Are apartments dog friendly?

Thank you

USA, Canada / Poles in Buffalo, NY [16]

If any of you have actually been to Buffalo for dyngus day then one would know that there are not many true Polish people. No one actually knows more than maybe 5 words. If you ask around if people are from Poland or of Polish decent many will say no, they are just there to drink. While it was fun, especially getting free drinks for actually being from Poland. Its not like everyone in buffalo is polish, yes a larger community than in Rochester.

Jardinero, i definitely agree with what you said many nth generation poles there.

Travel / Recommendations for a stay in Krakow? January, winter. [5]

Merged: Going to Poland in January!!!! NEED Ideas

Hello,

I have been on this site for years, and over the past year or so I haven't really been on much since chat was removed. So I'm sure some of ya'll will know me but many may not haha

Anyway i'm FINALLY going back to Poland!!!! I'll be graduating from University in December and as a graduation gift i'm getting a trip to Europe. I'll be going with a friend for two weeks everywhere we hope haha. And then for a week maybe 2 haha my mom will be meeting me in Poland for us to be together there. Me and my friend will quickly go to Poland as she is part Polish but I don't want to drag her on my trip down memory lane. I know about the crooked tree forest and we want to go there. I'm from Krakow so I'll be spending most of my week to two weeks with my mom there. But I want to know of other cool spots and places to check out. Things that I may not find on travel sites.

Anyway I'm super excited to finally be going back and just cant wait. I've got to brush up and keep learning my Polish. But any advice and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Mocha, I might have some good ideas for you - is your heart set on Kraków, or would you consider elsewhere?I can give you a potential contact if you want one?

I would LOVE that!! NO I'm not set on Krakow you know i'm from there that was all. But I mean anywhere in Poland I could still go visit there.

But very glad to see you back on here!!! I haven't been on in like forever haha so good to come back and see you unsuspended LOL :)

Hell Delph I'm not even set on Poland...... I'm applying for a few jobs in Austria for Red Bull, a bunch in Germany and the U.K. I'm applying all over the world and I'll even start to apply in the U.S. But if I could get a job in Poland and it was a good job I would choose to go there over somewhere else.

Classifieds / Seeking Business jobs in Poland for a soon to be University Grad!! [5]

Graduating from University in December. I'm starting to apply for jobs and think about where I'll be in a few months. I'm graduating with a Business Management degree with an International Concentration and then a Supply Chain Minor. I'm currently applying to a few companies in Poland like Google. I was just wondering what other companies you could suggest I look at. My Polish is not that good, beginner really haha mowie bardzo troche po polsku haha But anyway I'm applying to jobs all over the world but would really like to find one in Poland. My preference would be Krakow but am fine with other places. Hell I just want a good job haha

And or if you know of any specific jobs, I have a great resume or so I'm told ;) I have worked in a hospital and a few other jobs. So I have some experience.

So thank you for any advice that you can give me

Study / Free higher education in Poland? [8]

Merged: What are the requirements for free education in Poland and Europe? MBA program for an American Student.

If you have Polish citizenship you get free education in Poland right??
If you have Polish citizenship do you get free education anywhere in Europe?
I'm not sure if I still have my citizenship but it wouldn't be hard to get back, are their any other requirements other than just the citizenship to be eligible for the free education?

I'll be graduating from University in the U.S next December and then am looking at going to Poland for my MBA. I'm currently studying International Business Management.

Also so far I'm unable to find many universities in Poland that offer MBA programs in International Business or really in Business Management at all. Is there some site that I should be using?? I will have to do the program in English so that may be why i'm getting such low results. Would doing the program in Poland cost me? Or do they assume that those who want to take it in English don't have citizenship.

I really want to go abroad for my MBA, I haven't exactly decided where. I've also been looking at Dubai.

I'm sure i'll have more questions to come, but thank you for now!

News / Krakow, Poland considers co-hosting the Winter Olympic in 2022 with Slovakia (UPDATE) [30]

So what? Where is the money going to come from any why should it be wasted on winter Olympic games when there are so many better things to spend it on?

If done in the right way though you can make money. Even the London Olympics made money, Vancouver broke ever, China made money, Salt Lake made money, Sochi most def had to of lost money cause of security costs,. So whats wrong with it???

The only negative that I can see if the aftermath of what happens to these buildings, London did a great job unlike that of Athens, Moscow or Beijing, who did not think about the after effects of holding the games. So if Poland were to make it happen the right way I think it could definitely be something great.

News / Krakow, Poland considers co-hosting the Winter Olympic in 2022 with Slovakia (UPDATE) [30]

Not very cool, since many schools and hospitals are falling down, public sector wages are appalling, old age pensions minimal and any main road not upgraded with EU money dangerous.

But dont forget this is 8 years out, plenty of time and maybe the motivation needed to upgrade the surrounding area.

Being the only country in Europe that didn't bother to show the Paralympics

..... Why is that bad, does anyone even watch it when its on hahaaha I dont know anyone who watches that lol

2022 Olympic Winter Games in Krakow?

Would be cool to see Krakow host the 2022 Olympics what do you think?? Does Poland actually have a shot at doing this? And would they be able to pull it off?

The Applicant Cities of Krakow (Poland), Oslo (Norway), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Lviv (Ukraine) and Beijing (China)* all met the 14 March 2014 deadline for submission to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) of their Application Files to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

If you want 2 basic rules for the nominative that will mean you make a lot of errors but probably you can get away with it -

NOOO really lol damn I was hoping for a nice rule, guess i'll just have to work on memorizing them all. Rather learn the right way with no mistakes than form bad habits
