St george you mentioned only if you are willing to sweat blood work overtime then agencys will take on brits, well if all brits did sweat blood at there work then agencies might not need to take on migrant workers, just a thought mind you!
In an agency you get laid off if you decline one bit of overtime no what reason it is. I once worked for an agency. I was very rarely ill. Even now I'm very rarely ill. I've only taken about 3 days sick since 2001+. As I said, I fell ill once and took ONE day off. My agency continously rang me on that day despite me already informing them and then at the end of the day they said that I had been laid off and I should report to the head office for another job which could take days to get me another. I then decided to get a proper job, and what a great decision it turned out to be. My wage is much much higher than an agency job and the good thing about a permanent job is I HAVE RIGHTS.
In agency work you do NOT have rights. You are treated like a piece of dirt for very little pay. You are looked down on in workplaces due to yourself being an agency. Agency staff are "nothing." They want you to bust your balls for as little as £180 for 42hrs a week. £180? Bloody hell, I wouldn't even get out of bed for that now.
Advice for anyone looking for a job. Agency should be the VERY last resort.
Migrant workers can take all the agency jobs if they like. I wouldn't envy them.
