News / 10 year prison sentence for Polish lorry driver who killed 4 people while driving and using his mobile phone [90]

My brother was killed in Wales by a Polish guy who was looking at pictures on his phone as he was travelling 60 MPH. He hit my brothers bicycle and just left the scene. In court he lied through his teeth, including the lie that he doesnt speak v good Eng and the excuse that its ok to look at your phone under Polish law, everyone does it. He was driving on a provisional UK licence as he had his Polish one taken off him.

He got 5 years in priaon and a 10 year driving ban which is stupid because when he comes out of prison he wiill be getting his Polish licence back and the police can do nothing if he is caught driving with it i n the UK.

Classifieds / Anyone with a van that can transport some stuff to Belgium for me? [8]

These are unprocessed tobacco leaves for making snuff which are classed almost as a food product. It is the processing of them that makes it illegal. I just need a man with a van. My associate in UK will meet the delivery in Zeebrugge and take it to the UK.

Law / EU grants to small business in Poland-advice needed [27]

Merged: Eu grants for opening a language school in Poland

Can anyone tell me how you go about getting an EU grant for opening a languge school here? I've heard that the EU can even subsidise lesson cost so one can offer cheaper lessons to students without losing out.

I'd be really grateful for anyone's help

Classifieds / New Poland's naturist FB page for expats and other English speakers [27]

Some people are so Ignorant. Naturism is not about walking around the streets naked, its not about exposing yourself to others. As dougpol said, we have our own designated places where we don't expect to see any 'Textiles'. If Textiles go there, its usually to perve and guess what, its usually single men. My wife has learned to just shrug it off and see those perverts as people with problems.

My kids are involved in the naturist scene in Poland too, every year they go for a camp with other kids. Lo and behold they are normal and have a healther attitude to the human body than their classmates. I dont even encourage them to go, they are always asking me when the next camp is. My daughter hates clothes and she plays up when she has to wear them.

I think it is much healthier than the Religious attitude that prevails in Poland at the moment, the bigots of PiS who are putting Poland back 20 years

Classifieds / New Poland's naturist FB page for expats and other English speakers [27]

I have just started a FB page for expats and other English speakers who would like to become involved in naturism in Poland. It is a page which will provide information about where one can take part in naturism and how to get your foot into the Polish naturist scene. Look for English speaking naturists in FB and encourage all your friends to join.

Law / Mr. Men and Little Miss series - trying to bring it onto the Polish market [20]

People here missing the poit again. Harry was criticising her English purely because a project of this nature requires a perfect knowledge of English and what she wrote didnt cut the mustard. Ive no doubt she could hold her own in a conversation but wouldnt trust her to translate language this specific if she cant get the basics right

Travel / Best places to visit in Sopot in December [11]

Sopot is nuts, mental, insane, bonkers, mental

NOt really,

Its crap. If you want to party, go to Ibiza or Aiya Napa, there they really know how to party.

It is freezing cold at the moment in Sopot so find a warmer climate. If u want a mad one, go to zrce beach croatia, one of the maddest places ive been to.

Poles are not very crazy, rather conservative actually

Food / Christmas cookies for boyfriends Polish parents [8]

Try Welsh cookies. I often make them and my Polish friends just love them. They're also easy to stack for shipment, and pretty durable.

Sorry Dominic, theyre called welsh cakes not cookies.

News / Poland progresses in PISA ranking. 5th place in Europe and 14th in World [16]

Poland has moved up the PISA rankings to the 14th place".

None of this matters though as the countries that are lower seem to be the ones that are richer, produce more, invent more. Whats the point of being at the top of a table if the country doesn't use that.

Love / Polish girls hard in relationships [156]

There exists in Polish girls this 'Princess complex' which is instilled in them since birth. Polish men are compatible with Polish women beacuse they have been brought up to respect and obey this. Poilsh women and British/American guys are not compatible because this 'Princess complex' is not respected and the women have to be 'trained' to have a western mentality. My wife was nuts when we first met but eventually, when she saw i would not put up with her c*** she calmed down alot and now sees her friends' boyriends as complete doormats.

UK, Ireland / Learning Polish - Polish shops in England? [34]

Also, welshguyinpola, how is this a ridiculous question? I imagine the best place to ask would be here, and it saves me from going in there and making myself look like an ass.

You would look more like an ass if you go and strike up a conversation with the shopkeeper, the most ur gonna say is dziekuje. When Ive been in these shops before, the Poles themselves dont even strike up a converstaion with the assistant, they say very little actually, just hand over their overpriced snickers and pay.

UK, Ireland / wife wants to have baby in poland not ireland [52]

Pre-natal car is much better in the UK and Ireland too. We had our first child in the UK and the pre-natal classes were excellent. In Poland their attempt at these classes (szkola rodzenia) is pathetic.

Off-Topic / Modern parenting = bad parenting? [20]

You bit a child

Very very lightly to teach him the consequences of what he does. He never bit me again

Off-Topic / Modern parenting = bad parenting? [20]

My children went through a biting period, I bit him back and he never bit me again. I a lso pulled his hair when he started pulling mine, he never did it again. Kids have to realise there are consequences to their actions.
