Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

Good Morning Y'all

I am a young brazilian that is thinking about invest in Poland around the end of 2015 +-.

And i am thinking about open an startup or something like that (not necessarly tech company).

I was in Poland for around 3 months in 2011 and then i could realize how many opportunities the country have to investment and growth, but i would like to know also the opinion of all of you about it.

What kind of business you think that would be better to start in cities like Poznan, Lodz or Wroclaw? With an initial amount around 50 or 60 thousand USD. How hard is to find financing or credit line for starting business in Poland?

In the country that i lived before (Chile) is not difficult to find investors to good ideas. But unfortunately a socialist government make all investors run away. How is it at Poland?

Thanks!

Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

Thanks guys! Very valuable advice!

Another hypotesis that i have is also open a physical business.

I Was thinking something like a Lounge Bar or something alike, in a city like Poznan or Warsaw.

Do you think that this amount is enough? Or would be better to find a polish partner to improve the investment amount?

How much would be needed to open the venue (not very big thing by the way) and also have some working capital for the first non-profitable months?

Love / Marriage of hidden reason - Why don't girls from Poland marry 'Nicaraguans'? [5]

Reasons because polish "girls" (Why people think that they can put all girls in the same bucket?) don't marry Nicaraguans:

1 - Maybe because you are boring

2 - Maybe because you are ugly

3 - Maybe because you are lame

4 - Maybe because you are not ambitious

5 - Maybe because she just doesn't liked YOU

Ohh, did you saw it? All things are related to YOU, not your passport ;)

So try to be a better person and good luck.

News / Poland scored 31 in THE 2014 LEGATUM PROSPERITY INDEX [6]

Interesting ranking... I agree that Poland is a prosperous country BUT i saw some weird things looking to another countries.

Example: My country (Brazil) is, at the ranking, considered safer than Israel. What a BS. Besides the tentatives of Hamas to drop some missiles there, i am pretty sure that almost any part of Brazil (exception to few cities at the south/southeast) is more violent than the more violent part of Israel.

Life / Polish people are beautiful and great [2]

Why no admin banned this pakistani yet?

It is not the first time that he tries to troll here.

He says that Poles are extremists (???) but he forget the honour killings, stoning of infidels, beheadings by Taliban and all the other things that happen at his country.

I am not pole but i ever felt extremelly welcome in Poland. Maybe since you probably some ugly weirdo, you had been dumped by all poles and now discharge your frustrations here.

(And this kind of idiot having access to internet is the downside of the digital inclusion of some countries...)

Anyone in this forum that answer this guy will collaborate with that!

I am not even Polish, but please my polish friends, protect your country against this kind of menace!

Love / Observations and experiences so far about Polish women [93]

Several things have come to my attention about the characteristics of Polish girls.

For me even the bad characteristics are not so bad. (Except for the pessimist.. My girlfriend is very pessimist with her country even with Poland being a country with such a bright future ahead).

She is also very understanding about some small cultural differences between us (like, unfortunately, my lack of punctuality).

I Think that the worst characteristics of polish girls is that there is a lot of indians and middle eastern guys stalking them, and some of them fell into their lies.

Love / Observations and experiences so far about Polish women [93]

I make decent money in America...."really good" in Poland.

There are many kinds of Polish girls, you cannot talk about all of them together. They are very different between themselves.

My girlfriend is highly independent, want to have her own company, build her own future, etc...
She never ever even asked about how much i earn. And she even said that i should not buy expensive gifts for her (That made me really impressed).

Some other polish girls, on the other hand, have more a 50's housewife mentality (and i also respect that).

So it depends more of the type of the girl that you like.

Love / Are women from Poland scared of good looking guys? [48]

unfortunately, he is true mate! if you are not white.. banging is easy here..ask myself! Chicks are not caught up with people talking about politics or war or beer or food

1 - I Don't need to ask a middle eastern human about how to talk to a woman, i am latin.

2 - Chicks? By the way you refer to girls i can imagine what kind of low level girl you hang out with.

Love / How many Polish girls are married to foreigners? / How many Polish boys to foreign girls? [104]

In Brazil there is a lot of Polish guys that married Brazilian woman.

Actually one of our biggest cities (Curitiba) is almost entirely made in that way:

Polish Male + Brazilian female (with Italian/German/Ukrainian background, which are the 3 biggest colonies in the south of Brazil)

So that is why everytime a Pole accuse me of "steal" (!!!) a polish girl (my gf) i say

- Come on... we (Brazil) are losing this game by something like 300 000 X 1.

:P

Life / Should I expect racism as a 'black' woman in Poland [149]

I lived in Lodz in the second semester of 2011, i have a latin american look, and i never felt even a small drop of racism (of course that i ever had a very good behaviour towards the natives, this is a sine qua non condition).

By the way, i don't know Lublin, but if you want to have a strong sensation of Poland as you told, Lodz is a city that i recommend. I just felt in love by their simplicity.

News / UK to send tanks to Poland. [36]

Putin is a Bluffer.

Russian economy is even smaller than Brazilian economy and he is struggling to appease the people there that is starving to death with his neo-communist policies.

More than the sanctions, Russia is suffering with the falling oil prices. Soon this utterly oppressive russian government will need to give up (AGAIN!) of their vicious bullying against small countries or they will lack basic resources.

And what a joke someone say that Russia have firepower enough to menace Britain or Nato HAHAHAHAHA.

Poland is more safe than it had even been before. It was an extremely wise movement be part of NATO.

News / Forbes: Boot Argentina from the G20 and include Poland [44]

I Agree! Argentina nowadays is a Joke.

Actually most south american (Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina, etc.. and unfortunately now my country also entered this BS) nations are a joke, they are following the retards from Venezuela in their freaky idea of build some kind of Latin Soviet Union, uniting all countries under the same regime (Bolivarianism, which means basically Communism).

Poland deserves much more than then to be part of G20. Let Kirchner be crying alone on her world.

Love / Learning a language solely for your partner [21]

My gf wants me to learn polish. I want to, but i remember when i lived in poland, AND it is incredibly, INCREDIBLY difficult language (even with a lot of sounds similar with Portuguese).

And actually i feel a bit guilty that i can't speak polish while she is learning portuguese so fast (Of course that Portuguese is WAY easier than Polish). Maybe in the coming years i will try.

Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

Hey guys! It is me again!

I Was looking for some cities that could host a small hostel (with something around 50 to 55 people capacity).

Until now, my favorite is Poznan (Close to Germany, well developed, touristic).

Which other places you suggest for me to prospect? This idea is not for the near future, but something that i will start to work on the second half of 2015 to finally open in 2016, so i am looking to cities with potential for the future and that doesn't need huge investments (Remember, i will have around 60 thousand dollars to invest :) + some extra money to support the first 4 months without profit)

Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

It seems to me that you actually do not know what you want to do, how to do it and where to do it. You have now gone from "Lounge Bar" to "Hostel".

The knowledge that i accumulated working in Chile, Qatar and Brazil on tourism revenue management can be used on both sectors (and also at the airline industry or at the entertainment area, but open an airline or a football stadium is... a bit complicated and more demanding haha).

Hi Levi, may i ask you what it is that makes you want to invest in Poland?

1 - Poland is one of the few countries in the world that have the 2 conditions that, together, make a good place to invest: It is a politically stable country, growing economy. Example: My previous country, Chile, for example, is growing but is no stable at all. On the other hands, stable countries like Uruguay doesn't show any economical growth.

2 - Quality of life (I live in the richest country in the world nowadays, but i can say that Poland have a better quality of life. Different than here, Poland allows you to drink, for example).

3 - The future of Poland is rather exciting. I see the country with a potential to be in the future what South Korea is today. A Huge well-educated population, a lot of remittances coming from expatriated poles financing the country and a market economy will make this country skyrocket into a high-income economy.

4 - My girlfriend is polish.

don't have access to cheap money as Korean firms have

European Union is, if not cheaper then the korean sources, at least in the same level.

But you are right when you say that (still) Poland doesn't have a big number of transnational corporations.

Particularly the fact that you have mentioned "opening an airline or a football stadium is too complicated and demanding"

It was just a joke actually, since it is impossible to open an airline with 60 thousand usd of own capital.

And also of course that open an airline in any UE country nowadays is almost suicide. High taxes and, most of all, labour unions, will rip you alive and chew your meat.

At this moment, and i hope you will not take this personal, it sounds like you have no idea as to what you really want to do

I Didn't took it as offense, don't worry. And you are right that i don't know EXACTLY what i want to do (Except that i want to use my knowledge about Tourism Revenue Management, since i am, modesty apart, very good at it). That is why i am gathering ideas, doing brainstorm, with such a huuuge antecipation (remember, all this is just for 2016).

I sent you a PM by the way to know more about this startup.

Love / Would Polish people mind dating someone from Mexico? [12]

I am Latin American also (Brazilian) and my girlfriend is Polish.

I Found interesting because i almost don't feel any major cultural shock (more like a weather shock? haha). Actually both cultures fit very well (maybe because poles also mass-emigrated to Brazil during the last century and helped to shape part of our culture).

The only Latin thing that i realized poles really don't like is unpunctuality... they take that a bit serious.
Also people there in Poland are a bit more conservative (more than Brazil, but probably not more than Mexico since Mexico is also much more conservative than Brazil). But this is not bad, since it is the way they found to preserve their way of life.

I Spent few months in Poland and i travel there on a monthly basis and until now i felt very welcome by absolutely everyone.

Joking apart I've been to Spain, However the Hispanics there are not as friendly as the Mexican Hispanics.

Haha totally not.

UK, Ireland / Pakis VS Poles in the UK [62]

yes it is :

You forget to say that under Sharia law, Catholics (and also any other non-muslim) need to pay Jizya, a amount of month every month just to exercise the right to have their own religion.

(Of course countries like Turkey doesn't apply that, since Turkey is not Sharia-ruled, yet).

Give Erdogan a few more years and he will take care of this. Then you can safely kiss Turkey goodbye and forget about it.

Exactly.

With Erdogan, soon Turkey will go to extremist fundamentalism.

I can bet that in the next 4 or at most 5 years he will launch some military operations against smaller countries (Cyprus?) to start to build his freaky idea of empire.

they were so happy about it if you can imagine. sicily? where is your hate came from realy ??

PLOT TWIST: I Live in an Arab country, i am not giving an opinion through CNN.
So i KNOW what happens with non-muslims here. Don't say that they are happy for their treatment.

Nobody is here because they are happy but because of money. Simple as that.
