UK, Ireland / Homeless Poles living on barbecued rats and alcoholic handwash? [62]

I am extremely worried for my friends in Silesia who'll soon be going to Holland to pluck flowers. I hope they don't end up on the street begging for food. They are very excited cause they are going to make 5 Euro/h (their daily wage in poland)

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people importing a new wave of ancient racism into the UK? [402]

The poles actually come TO WORK!The blacks and asians have not contributed half of what the poles have, even though they've been in your country for 10 times the amount of time.

What an arrogant and unsubstantiated statement. What exactly do Poles contribute to Britain again. I believe those Asian Billionaires paid more taxes to Britain than all the polish migrants in the UK combined. Britain was doing just fine before polish mass migration and it will be OK without you and your racist folks.

News / Newsweek's The World's Best Countries (Poland ranked 29) [128]

best country rank

Poland is ranked 29, and did very well in education with a ranking of 17, but lags behind in everything else.

US leads the world in Economy but lags in Education and Health Care (Amazingly US has 16/20 best universities in the world and unrivalled healthcare and medical technology for those who can afford).

Poland's arch rival Slovakia is ranked behind Poland at 31, followed by Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia. Meanwhile perennial bottom feeder Bulgaria and Romania closed the pecking order among EU countries ranking 38 and 39.

Among G7 countries US did exceptionally well, ahead of all European powerhouse, but behind Canada and Japan. Wannabe superpowers Russia and China are put in their rightful place ranking 51 and 56 respectively.

On a more serious note while Israel has its high spots i dont see how it got the place, all others i pretty much agree with except with US, the life of an average Joe in US is not much better than in Poland.

If you set a side your anti-semitism you'll notice Israel is light years ahead of many EU countries in technology, innovation and healthcare. its not surprising millions of Arabs are dying to get in there.

Average Joe in US can afford to eat 3 big mac meals aday, average Pawel cannot afford one big mac meals a week. Yes, I've been to Poland and I know how poor the people are (no offense there).

Home cooking is more expensive and time consuming, but healthier. Not many young people in Poland with multiple "rolls" on their stomachs.

Certainly NOT in Poland. A big mac meal cost around 15 Zloty in Poland, and my Polish friend said they can feed at least 3 or 4 people by cooking at home with that amount of money based on their income. I am not surprised they never wanted to eat at any Polish restaurant cause they love mc Donalds and KFC more than anything else.

I think Mc Donalds meals are probably healthier than those pig fat, sausages and processed meat eaten by average poles. Just my opinion, feel free to offer the calories count if you got the facts.

UK, Ireland / Why English do not like Polish? [417]

Just like many of you poles hate negroes and pakis for no apparent reason other than their skin colour.

News / Newsweek's The World's Best Countries (Poland ranked 29) [128]

I saw four young men sharing a cup of pepsi refill at KFC in Danzig, without eating anything. Using my friend as a translator I offered them a bucket of chicken which they gladly accepted. They were from eastern Poland, didn't speak a word of english but had a friendly conversation using hand gesture, random words and my friend as a translator. We went back to their place YHA right next to Danzig library to have a drink. That mean and devillish woman at the reception kicked us out after someone reported to her that we were drinking a can of beer. Oh what a country.

Imagine how much better it would be if they ate junk food.

Amazingly, we are apparently the 2nd fattest nation in the world after the US, and we are right behind US in fast food consumption. We love our Mc Donald's Big Macs, Hungry Jacks Ultimate Double Whoopers and we gorge on our KFC Bucket of Chicken. Yet we are healthier, sexier, sportier, wealthier and live longer than all eurotrash countries except Iceland and Switzerland. ne ne ne ne

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

The kind of fridges used by most household in Poland are mostly those cheap and nasty one door fridge with small freezer compartment. To make ice cubes you have to fill a tray with water and taking ice cube out is always a mess as you have to wriggle them out, and most of them will end up on the floor. Here in Australia most people use fridge with separate ice maker, and we get ice either crushed or cubes by just pressing a button.

I noticed that AC in your home or car is still considered a luxury accessory in most of Europe. The only thing they have is room heater, mostly those 19th century style old radiator heater. Even many of their 3-4 stars rated hotels have no A/C.

Life / How can Polish immigrants complain about other immigrants? [65]

Conservative gov't just allowed local councils to bypass immigrants in favour of british citizens for council houses. Which means those dark jamaicans and paki british will jump the queue in front of eastern europeans immigrants. Poetic justice methinks.

Life / POLISH YOUTH compared to the youth in other Western countries? [57]

Most Polish youth are hopeless in life, their only lifeline is finding jobs in western Europe or immigration to the new world, in order of preference USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

They see, smell and taste consumerism and affluent lifestyle in the west, yet it's out of reach for many of them. Which can be reflected in their bitterness towards foreigners, especially coloured people who are supposed to be beneath them based on their skin colours.

They pretend to be religious, proud of Jana Pawla (but can't explain why), yet constantly cirticise Americans as religious nuts.

Obsessed with the perception of their country, food, culture and lifestyle, constantly compares with their neighbours like Slovakia, Czech, Ukraine etc etc. If negative feedback is given, they'll start vicious arguments blaming Germans for invading their country, Britain for not saving them and America for not liberating them.

Life / Poland, maybe the world's last bastion of faith [67]

The last bastion of faith for Christianity comes with the duty and responsibility of protecting the chosen people Jews and the Holy land (Israel) from Muslims, currently shouldered by USA, Canada and Australia. Poland should contribute its fairshare and should be more vocal in supporting Israel at the UN and international affairs.

Polonia / What About The Poles In The Netherlands? [102]

My friends are currently working in holland and are not very happy because they were promised Euro 5 an hour but they are paid only 3.21 Euro after tax + free accommodation (for 18 yrs old) and 4.01 Euros for others (without a room). They work 10-12 hours most of the time, 5 days a week (extremely hard work requiring heavy lifting of goods weighing 10-20 kg).

Any person doing the same work here in Australia will be paid minimum $20+ /hr + 9% superannuation (around 15 Euros).

It seems like slavery is alive and well in the old Europe.

Polonia / What About The Poles In The Netherlands? [102]

minimum wage for such unskilled casual work in a transport, logistic and retail environment is $ 20.59 before taxes (such as stacking shelf, packing, loading, cleaning floors, check out chick, trolly collector etc) . The first $ 6000 is tax free and the rest are taxed at 15 cent per dollar up to $ 35,000. 18 yrs old get 70% of adult wage (21 yrs and over). My friend is NOT lying, this kind of abuse must stop!

UK, Ireland / Ed Miliband, new Labour leader, talking about Polish immigrants yesterday [62]

Labour govt let everyone in the UK cause most immigrants always vote for labour. It was their hidden agenda of flooding UK with immigrants which could put them into power forever. I hope the conservative shut this open door policy except for us with historical, cultural and ethnic ties to the UK.

Life / Gypies/Indian-looking women with kids beg for money in Poland [143]

hmm those communist style apartment blocks looks alot like most towns in Poland. I wonder why most eastern europeans live in such decrepit buildings which look more like prison blocks than habitable apartments, considering they have plenty of lands to build houses.

Food / No Vernor's ginger ale in Poland? [29]

scotch and ginger ale mixed is my favourite drink, but no pubs in Poland serve whiskey which was disappointing (a friend told me they are expensive so they don't have them) . I ended up drinking Tyskie mixed with red bull most of the time. Drinking outdoors sucks too cause there's heaps of mozzies which is also strange as Poland is in temperate zone, not tropical areas.

USA, Canada / EMPIRE STATE BUILDING IN NYC DISRESPECTS POLISH AMERICANS! [88]

Considering the hatred of jewish people by some Polish people (as clearly eveidenced by many members of this forum), I do not blame the owner of Empire State Building for refusing to honour him.

Study / Admitted To Warsaw University Of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska) [69]

There's nothing in the Czech Republic that isn't here - in fact, given how Catholic Poland is, you'd think it would be an easier life there.

They chose Poland over Czech Republic because they can, just like polish migrants chose UK over Germany or Italy. You should be grateful that someone from the arsehole of the world choose to study in your country, regardless of their ulterior motive. Millions of Polish people study, live and work elsewhere in the west, in a place better than Poland. Poland is surely better than Pakistan, Bangladesh or Nigeria, hence they use it as stepping stone for their career and a better future.

It is hypocritical of you people to disparage these people when you are doing EXACTLY the same in Western Europe, Americas, Australia and NZ.

Because there are no restrictions..Shows what you know.

There is no restrictions on Bangladeshi on whether they should study in Poland or Czech Republic, as long as they folow the Law of the land. They have a freedom of choice and they chose Poland.

Millions of Polish people moved to the west, and many of them settled in America, UK, Canada and Australia. Bangladeshis or Pakistanis have the right to study and settle in Poland, as long as they follow the immigration rules, whether you like it or not.
