Language / I want to learn Polish. Where to start? [180]

Czesc im enjoyed reading on how other people have learnt or are trying to learn Polish.Ive been with my Polish girlfiend for over 3years and have tried all sorts of methods of learning from books Cd's polish tv and numerous holidays with her family and her none her family speak English apart from her sister and her boyfriend so I have found a good way to learn was be thrown in the deep end.I still get post it notes on items round the house in Polish to remind me.I think unless you use it on a regular basis it is very hard.Oh im still learning but im must say my the best word has to be Przyczepa kemingowa. And NEVER play a Pole at scrabble you have been warned!

UK, Ireland / WHAT IS SO SPECIAL LIVING IN U.K [90]

Personally I think the place has gone to the wall.Maybe people think its special as its known a treasure island. The land of hand outs.

A plus point there is no another place on the planet like a traditional English pub with a good selection of real ale.

UK, Ireland / WHAT IS SO SPECIAL LIVING IN U.K [90]

Not for much longer at the rate pubs are shutting down.

Very true. Its a sad time for publicans

does not sound like there is much to do,except for drinking ale is that all.O how about work market.

There is plenty to do.I live on the coast so plenty of water-sports to do or lazing on the beach, when and if the sun comes out! This is also a short drive away thenewforest.co.uk. There is plenty to do in most places it depends what you are into.

As for the work market ive been lucky even after being made redundant last Christmas I was working the next day.So the work is out there.
