Nawet użyłeś dzięki zamiast dziękuję <thumb up> :)

Love / Am I wasting my time with this Polish guy ? [18]

treasure he said in a relationship that he cannot manage.

It isn't that rare. I know at least two guys who prefer playing computer games at nights than to be in a relationship. Look at me. I don't want to be with woman because I love freedom and comfortable life. I'm not a family guy. Of course it would be nice to have a female friend who pick you up from hospital when you broke a leg but when she expects more than friendship alert lights turn on and it's time to take a tight turn over the left wing.

treasureit feels he was still looking for someone else. I am English. The dating site was polish.

Where do you live? I don't like UK (country, not people) maybe he doesn't like too. Are you ready to relocate? Probably not. Maybe he is practical.

These are only to show you that his behaviour isn't rare nowadays.

Life / Quiet Hours and Hot Water Supply [12]

I've rented 7 flats in Poland, arranged rentals for other people and rent one out now and have never ever heard of anything like this.

Some of big cooperatives set computers to reduce hot water temperature in the night (from 23oo to 4oo) but no one dare to turn the pumps off even that the electricity savings would be sizeable.

Life / Not possible to find a Hardware/DIY store near Mokotów, Warszawa? (Warsaw district) [10]

I find it hard to believe that there's nowhere close I can go to buy some screws - in my home country Belgium there's several hardware stores within 10 min biking. Is this a cultural thing? :)

Now I know that my destination is Belgium ;)

In return we have a lot of boutiques, pharmacies and perfume shops with preservatives for women. If parachute from a plane in a pitch black night and after landing you can see at least three pharmacies, you are in Poland.

Uncle Google says there are hardware stores in the Mokotów area: 1) ul. Modzelewskiego 58a 2) Bartycka 24/26 and 3) Puławska 74 / 10

Love / Does color or where you come from really matter for Polish people? [6]

for me love is the most important in a relationship

For girls the most important is practical side of relationship. What if someday I decide to return to Poland. It may be an obstacle.

but does color or where you come from really matter?

To me it is only information, that in 99,9% this person is not native Polish speaker and won't claim that he or she knows Polish language better than me.

Love / International/binational couples and communication problems [12]

Just wondering whether my English girlfriend would marry me eventually. I don't really speak the language, though I am learning it and wonder whether she would prefer an English boy really who speaks the same mother tongue. We have a lot in common but I wonder whether she misses speaking her own language :)

Law / Is it possible to get an MOT on a RHD car in Poland? [28]

The local Ford garage did the safety check on my UK RHD Smart car.

I suppose you did the safety check and somehow you don't need to return to UK for MOT. This is the only benefit.

Law / Selling a car without putting it in your name - Multiple Umowas - what's the deal? [25]

Peter, if UFG would do that, they have to talk with my lawyer first

Don't tell us what you will do or you going to do. OP asked What is the law regarding this?

guy who drove it for 2 years

He drove it without OC definitely.

The lady at desk didn't think anybody (old owner) had done anything wrong

She should go back to the school.

this is normal practice in Poland

No it isn't. Everyone is afraid of driving a car without OC because of paying compensation in case of accident.

Law / Selling a car without putting it in your name - Multiple Umowas - what's the deal? [25]

When previous owner send a cancellation letter and new owner won't buy new insurance then car will be without any insure

It is true but from this moment UFG is looking for owner and can send him sweet letter with 3000zł fee.

It is comfortable option when you own a car but it is out of use from some reasons.Even current owner , in any time, can send a cancellation letter to insurer when decide to leave the car without any protection, but then is not allowed to drive this car on a public road.

Are you talking about PL or UK? It is not true in PL. You can only ask for temporary off the road status (from 2 to 24 months) and only for special cars lorries > 3.5 tonne, cranes, buses etc and you can ask for OC 95% discount because car is off the road or on private land.

Law / Selling a car without putting it in your name - Multiple Umowas - what's the deal? [25]

Yawn - I bought a car from Germany and was driving it here for nearly three months on German plates and with ongoing monthly cover before I found the time to register it. And I didn't go to prison.

So what?

car insurance continues with the old insurer unless a new insurer takes over

or until it expires. Old insurer after selling a car acknowledge insurance company I sold my car. I have umowa to avoid automatic renewal.

uninsured motorists are a problem in the UK but there is a fund to compensate drivers or any party who are affected by an uninsured driver there

In PL there is a fund too. Ubezpieczeniowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny

Language / Do English-speakers sound funny when we speak Polish? [49]

Do English-speakers sound funny when we speak Polish?

Of course they do, but not the pronunciation, but use of incorrect words. Ja byłem?, Ty byłes? Widziałeś mojego piesa?

I'm trying to reach another level of Jedi training and do not laugh as I'm aware that my English is still far away from perfect :)

Travel / Rental car thefts high in Poland? [3]

fly in to warsawa and rent car but I just read rental car thefts are high.

Maybe but usually thieves pretending to be customers. Do they really hunt for rented cars?
