Po polsku / Tragedia jezykowa, czyli "stay on topic" LOL. [95]

W każdym kraju, nie tylko w Polsce, ludzie zawsze będą oceniać Twój wygląd, kulturę języka
i zachowanie, Noreenb.

Tak, to prawda.
Jednakże kultura języka nie zawsze pokrywa sie z kulturą osobistą danej osoby.
Niestety.
:)
Dobranoc!

Torq

"Szlag by to trafił!" - tak powiedziałabym do takiego delikwenta i "oceniacza" -(neologizm własny).
Good night PF.

Ok, rozumiem.
Fakt, to wątek Borrki.
I am tired.
:)
But I will wait for Your answer in Polish Torq because we do not discuss enough.
:)
"Wezne" to tragedia językowa i "kupywałam" też.
Ale niestety czasami to się słyszy.
A co powiesz na:
"Ja mam stać na półce ładny wazon?"

Love / Such a Very Sad Loss.. fighting the battle with a Polish lady to see my daugher. [56]

edelweiss
Losing my Mother and see'ing her in a Terrible state due to an Aggressive Brain Tumor that drained her Soul and eventually her spirit then Life.

I'm sorry for you.
I don't like when people say that an illness harms soul. It does if we think so. I have always believed that human has as many strenght as it is in his mind, not soul. If you think, that a cancer harms soul, you become a loser.

You have to change your point of view at Your mother illness, death, Your lost and Your past in general.
I hope you will be fine pretty soon.
Just try to think over this what has happened to You. Try to look at it from a different point of view. Use Your imagination. Think about Youself in three months ahead. Do You still want to suffer and come back to the past? It is the easiest way to go.

These ones, who passed away do not think and feel in our way (at least, we don't know if they do), we feel pain here. But remember that nobody expects it from us. In our culture this is a normal state of mind.

I don't know if you need time to come back to Your tragic past. I hope You do know it.

A ja do tych wszystkich ciekawych rzeczowników typu idolancja (ignorancja?) dodam jeden a propos wątku Torqu'a: "krytykanctwo".
To też jest polski rzeczownik.

Love / Being Taken For A Idiot by my Polish girlfriend? [37]

pryda
the thing that annoys me most is we have never had a falling out / arguement in the 9 months knowing each other even as friends

Arguments heals atmosphere around people.
Maybe she wants to be too perfect - I don't know, I just guess.
You should drive her mad once or twice as a trial.
A couple that don't argue with each other? Difficult to imagine!

Life / Where to buy some recreational stuff like... bongs for smoking "herbs" in Poland? [20]

Convex
What were you asking about?

I just thought you suggested me having cannabis prescribed.
:)
A simple misunderstanding your words.
A suggestion for LeeHughes:
Try to smell some natural herbs or oils, for example: a smell of oranges causes that mood becomes better, lavender helps to relax and so on... It's called aromatherapy.

I guess its impact on senses is not very strong, but you can try at least.
You can also have "cannabis" crushed and smell it.
Smelling herbs is nicer than smelling "bongs".
He, he...
I hope you will be ok.

Gosh, complicated a bit, because you will be suppossed to date at least two girls whereas girls are supposed to date only one the best candidate.

You know, women in Poland are very expensive...

I do suffer from a lot of depressions

Listen, sometimes medicines prescribed by doctors don't work.
Taking medicines at least two weeks to one month you can say if they are proper for you.
If not, doctor prescribes other one.
Find a good doctor instead of looking for stuff like "bongs".
Curious if anybody help you to find a place where "bongs" are.

History / Star shaped symbol on Polish Eagle? [22]

A rosette is a popular pattern decoration element, "flower of life".
It's also widely found on traditional art and ancient architecture as decorative motif;
normally seen as a traditional symbol without political implications.

The man is expected to pay more but not that much.

I don't think so.
How "the syndrome" is related to the parity?

Some women here just seem to coast along on the Princess Syndrome.

What is "The Princess Syndrome"?
Seanus, explain it to me, please.

Love / I WANT HER BACK EVEN IF I HAVE TO CROSS THE OCEAN WITH A BOAT AND GO WALKING TO LÓDZ [58]

Amathyst
They are the closest to you (apart from family) who will give your sound advise based on their knowledge of you personally.

I don't trust friends. Even if they say they want to help they do it because expect sth from me in the future. I rely only on my family.

I can't say to them: "I need sth from you", because some of them wait for having an opportunity to help me. I don't used to give them satisfaction.

There are friends and friends.

Amathyst
Strangely enough we have a friend with cancer and we all went out for her birthday at weekend and we were all very open about the situation...nothing small about those chats...
I wouldnt dream of going on a forum asking for advice, it would be like ordering underwear on line...Just wrong!

Small chats are nice, but feeling pity for sb is wrong IMPO and I avoid it.

Love / I WANT HER BACK EVEN IF I HAVE TO CROSS THE OCEAN WITH A BOAT AND GO WALKING TO LÓDZ [58]

Strangers give more objective advises. Others, especially family, often judge. It's not even a matter of trust.

Telling a friend about real problems can be risky.
Imagine a situation:
You have flu for the third time in the same year. You meet a person with whom you used to spend a lot of time.

A small talk between you and the friend:
"- Hey, how are you? Do you still have a flu? If I had a flu so often I would go to do some blood tests. Maybe you are infected with HIV? You have to check it.

-? Oh, I feel better...
- Or, maybe, eat garlic 4 times a day. My grandma used to do this. It didn't help her actually. She died after a month. She had a very, very bad flu bugs. But I hope you will be fine soon. Your bugs are so dreadful. You look pale and so tired."

I understand his reasons for writing the post.

Life / Stereotypes: Do Poles believe in fate? [18]

Olaf
They are doomed to believing in fate:)

Why "doomed" to believe?
I don't feel being "doomed" to anything, because I believe in what I want.
Try to say "you're not right" Olaf!
I will ask you then: "how come"?

This is an interesting thread Southern.
Good luck while reading plenty nice answers.

Life / Stereotypes: Do Poles believe in fate? [18]

It's not a question about stereotypes connected with my country, southern.
I believe in destiny (not in fate - it's more like "fatum" - sth really "fatal" in Polish).
my life depends on my own decisions.
What more can I say? Fate/destiny are sometimes blind.

UK, Ireland / More honest - Brits of Poles? [9]

I think that we shouldn't regard nationalities in here. An answer on question like this one will be failed in many aspects.
I'm as honest as people of my parents' generation.

Love / I WANT HER BACK EVEN IF I HAVE TO CROSS THE OCEAN WITH A BOAT AND GO WALKING TO LÓDZ [58]

Y_C
we've been in contact almost every day of the week for about 1 year and a half,i think i know her in many aspects, but im missing the most important

You don't know her. You were in a virtual world for about one year.

People on facebook want to be somebody better, more interesting, more successfull than in normal, everyday life. If you were looking for a great girlfriend, you found the one. She was probably acting ideal.

You liked the situation, so did she.
A finish in reality?
Sometimes these relations work, people find there the one who they care, many of them end with a huge disappointment in reality.
It depends.

AND I WONT WASTE MY TIME TRYING TO UNDERSTAND LOVE'S REACTIONS

So take a deep breath an live!

Life / What's currently in fashion in Poland? [44]

how about scarfs, winter jackets/coats and cowboy boots...?

Just imagine, Pgtx: cowboy boots, a big warm scarf and colourful winter coat
Clothing accesories?
Yellow panty-hose and bright yellow bag?
Ok, maybe without yellow panty-hose.
