I believe that most European immigrants have finally settled in nicely. There are no problems, maybe a joke or two and that's that. But they do worry about too many non-Europeans

I see it is only about multi-kulti of Europeans

all you people seem to think USA population has only been made up of Europeans....

How do you know that you don't have educated, secular, smart turkish citizens in France? Do you even know who is turkish or not or do they all look the same to you coz they all look somewhat arabic

of course registerdd is not interested in smart, educated ,integrated immigrants, they wouldnt fit into his own personal weltanshauung...:)

Oh maybe I told you before...my step grandfather was a soldier in the trenches in WW2, he returned to England after the war, and said "The Germans are all right, its those bloody stinking dirty Frogs I hate".

Agree with you Nathan...I think we have been perhaps too accomodating in parts of Europe.

Besides even if you do choose to put retrospective words into my mouth, I am not "blaming people", I am saying that society in France today is reaping the rewards of past French government actions, and that is just tough.

Besides, have a look at that wiki link, it was hardly 50 - 100 years ago in many cases.
This obsession of yours about "blame" are you sure you have certain issues compeletely separate in your mind? I am not talking about Germany.

Just look at this!!

How many French cities etc were built on the spoils of empire?
Why is France so rich now?
How many civil and international wars were fomented by the French in chase of empire leaving how many people impoverished and homeless?
The very least France can do now is accept some of its ex subjects into the country. after all colonial subjects were forced to learn about "our ancestors the Gauls"!!

Dont you mean you said "non" ?? nobody asked the people of Algeria or Morocco or Martinique or Haiti or the rest of the French Caribbean or Guyana (to mention just a very few of your colonies) if they wanted their countries raped and their people terrorised did they?

In your opinion, but the obvious need for private schools doesn't back this up does it.

I hear what u are saying UK Polska but honestly I met unqualified and inexperienced native english teachers without even a college background who would have struggled with CAE themselves, teaching in these wonderful private schools in Poland. At least someone with a pedagogical background and FCE might have more clue than these, even if their pron. is a bit rubbish?

I know that every nation has its scum but I still, these are not the normal average hard working people you are talking about, and the latter are certainly in the majority. It just doesn't suit people to talk about that.

Besides Britain has exported plenty of scum too....that's just how it is.... when you become dictator of the New Europe you can confiscate everyones passports, until then why not just try to maintain a sense of proportion?

well I don't think "fly by night experts" are OK, obviously, but my questions were A) if you choose to bring your daughter up in Poland then what did you expect in public schools...special expert Japanese lessons laid on for your special daughter? and B) why is everyone getting so snotty about a Turkish woman teaching English? Its an international language after all.

As I said FCE is quite good enough for teaching beginner and elementary school children

and could hardly speak a word of English and this is not surprising as the basic requirements are a grade 'C' in FCE (First Certificate of English).

I know you would certainly not be able to pass FCE with "hardly a word of English". This qualification (which I have taught) is certainly enough to be able to teach beginner or elementary English, and really quite a high level. In fact "First Certificate" is not a good name for it. UK Polska what did you expect? Why don't you ask if your daughter can study another language instead?

Why is everyone so precious about English Language Teaching? It's an international language and I am sure that "Turkish girl" would be a very good English teacher. Get off your high horses everyone.

Why don't you just tell him you have something else to do in that time? Also if your bf laughs at you when u try to speak Polish why u don't tell him to STFU?

Also why don't you suggest that his parents go to fekkin English lessons if they live and work in Eire?
Apart from that, just keep at it with the POlish, keep listening and trying to join the convo and it will get easier I am sure.

Anyway one of my kids' primary schools had a dreadful old pervert in charge of residential trips... and girls' dancing...and P.E.....and no CRB check would have picked him up because he was too clever to have been caught...:) (oh he was a scout leader too)

After enough parents complained about him he was forced to retire, I expect he went straight to Poland or the Czech republic what with all that teaching experience...:)

everything, stu...it's called massive post colonial hangover and quite honestly both Britain and Netherlands deserve it. Our ports and stations and art galleries were built on slavery and exploitation and our motorways built by cheap immigrant labour. The Queens massive jewel collection is mostly stolen from India, etc etc...

(rants a bit)
Quite honestly we owe the Poles more than they owe us. Who held the Ottomans off at the gates of Vienna? Benefits are paltry anyway, and a drop in the ocean of the arms and war budget. Sadly we are distracted from this by propoganda and hatred published in various red top papers....:) Don't be a sucker for it..
