Life / Is the 1st of November a work-free holiday in Poland? [12]

You've got that the wrong way round: 1 November is a day off work, 2 November is not.

2 Nov is off school in my school. :):):)

nother lost day. Most people will make a long weekend of it, meaning I will lose lucrative work. Poland's public holidays cost me a bundle!

:):):)

Guys, guys, come on, come on!

Life / Polish vs British vs American - Clash of cultures [390]

It's a MUST in the UK to learn a second language in Comprehensive school as well (usually French).

French? That doesn`t count as a second language, as it is another variant of English. :):):):)

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

Bollix again. They are english language tutors. Not your field, amigo.

Bollix, indeed. :):):):):):):):):)

Some Indian teachers make less than 3,000 euro per annum. Lets double that and invite ten thousand of them over to teach in Poland. If that goes well, another 10,000. How would you like them apples?

I have nothing against, on condition they either bring their families here or get married in Poland and have 10 children each!
Huh! What you say to that? :):):):)

Travel / Photo tales from Krakow, Poland [10]

Favourite pastime of kids in my area is playing on closed rail tracks. They spend there day and night.

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

Wow, you are clever after all! Good question! :)

Of course, I don`t mind foreign competition. It is already happening. Thousands of English natives are desperately flocking to Poland to take up teaching, especially in Krakow, bringing the prices down, so it seems that my monthly earnings this October will fall below 10.000 zlotys for the first time within last years.

If I did, I wouldn`t have started such a thread, would I?

Let the better win! :):):):)

I am serious. Later on anotehr mouse was walking on me while I was sleeping. I woke and put it back.
It turned out I had left a gap in the mice`s house.

Food / What made in Poland produce would you recommend [110]

In view od the above: Krakus tins? Why should I try them? :-)

Because, due to distance and transport costs, it is the best Polish-made ham you can get in Canada? :):):):)

ZELEMER products are rated quite high in Poland.

I think we have a few of their apliances in the kitchen.

The ZELMER company, which started as a state-owned factory manufacturing bicycles and prams, dates its origin back to 1951. Since mid-1950s it has been producing household appliances which, constantly upgraded and modified, have become the company's main activity.

ZELMER is the domestic market leader in vacuum cleaners, both classic and multi-functional, as well as small kitchen appliances such as: meat mincers, slicers, electric kettles, food processors, mixers and juice extractors. ZELMER-labelled goods with their excellent quality, functionality, user-friendliness and modern, attractive design stand out among other products available on the market.

Yes, they write various things on it. Most of these vandals know nothing about the crash. They only see vertical surface to dribble on.

If majonez, ONLY kielecki!

Only if I am desperate like now when have have run out of Winiary and I can`t put it on my cottage cheese sandwich.

A good ham for sure but it's quality has lapsed, I'm afraid, since the PRL-days (at least the ham sold here in New Jerssey).

Rybnik, that ham sold in NJ might be a spoof from rotten West! :):):):)

or

you experience the syndrome of "happy childhood memories." :):):):)

pawian:Why should other guys know about it?

they all know it already anyway.

Ooops! Now I know why they behave like debils.

Why should I buy some preserved ham (of any make whatsoever) rather than some freshly smoked one? With a bit of fat (z tłuszczykiem) or without? No vote for me for Krakus Ham - unless planning to stay six months in the North West Passage, surrounded by ice. :-)

Bol, it is impossible to recommend fresh ham as there are so many kinds of it.

So, it was much simpler to recommend the best tinned one.

Isn`t it simple? :):):):):)

Food / Jacket potatoes - do Polish people like them? [22]

Jacket potatoes - do Polish people like them?

Nope.

The only exception is baking potatoes in a campfire, but it is really rare today.

As for the member who complains about limited choice of potatoes in Poland, I can say that Polish potatoes are universal and good for all kinds of cooking.

I thought that people of Poland are humanist, not racist and not nazi. But I have make a mistake.

Hey, that racist scum sobieski isn`t Polish at all. Don`t mind him/her, he/she is one of most active trolls here, notoriously offending people. Why they keep him/her here, is a mystery to most members, except other trolls. :):):)
