Study / Shocking! Test standards in Polish schools. [165]

So who ruined the standards and what for?

uff that is some question......one that I hesitate to attempt answering at the risk of sounding like a crazed Daily Mail journalist or a stoned conspiracy theorist.....

Are you going to point out what is wrong with what you quoted because I can't see any error. Providing she has more than one kid, that is.

lolz, thanks!! I was waiting for someone to question that apostrophe..they are twins ..;)

I would believe he learnt integrals at 15 but not earlier.

I had to check what those were...they did look vaguely familiar... but then I was kicked out of top maths set at an early age. Once upon a time standards in UK schools were much higher...which is why I was 'banging on' about today's 'literacy' lessons.

So correct punctuation is nonsense?

you said that, not me.
I am very keen on correct punctuation.
Just that this is a forum, not a dissertation, and I could kind of guess what was coming next.
Go on where was the missing comma?
If you haven't got anything better to do....

You kunts have tonnes of clown degrees, mgr from let's say SGH is better than at least 99% of your MAs in business/economy, some mgr's are a joke and some MA's are a joke. Now Harry, tell us somethin about your "superior" british MA :)))) What was it in ? Social work :))) ???

true, masters degrees are for sale in UK, more or less.
I read alot of UK masters dissertations and see nothing great in them at all.

Time means - why do you have to be so rude and defensive? I have an excellent standard of English. I wasn't 'banging on' about anything.

It's one school, yes, but it's the school my kids have to attend, so I am 'allowed' to comment, I think.

Please don't reply by pointing out missing commas in my posts or some such nonsense, thanks.

And no, the answer isn't "a police caution for a first offence" hehe :)

lolzz...practical maths innit?
I personally find the "literacy" standards in UK schools shocking. The Year 8 classes in my kids' school are not streamed....the teacher teaches to the lowest level not the highest..

My boy was disgusted to be asked to spend his time in English class drawing lines between punctuation marks and their names......sadly the teacher was disgusted with him for preferring to sit there and pick his nose or roll fags or whatever. It is a shame for someone who easily understands the subjunctive mood and the case system to be disaffected with 'education' so young.

I am sure standards in Polish schools must be higher than this.

Do you remember the story from a while ago where some kid was beating up others in his primary school class in Bialystok? That's the sort of thing that suspensions deal with

in UK those kids stay in school while the ones that wear the wrong coloured trousers and ask too many questions get suspensions......
if any English or Welsh kid could reach the standard derided by the OP in any foreign language I would be amazed....
oh yeh that's cos they don't teach languages any more it brings down the league tables....

btw I don't think Dutch language is the closest relative of English -

well I don't know about the grammar, but as an English person, if I hear Dutch people chatting away in the background, to me it just sounds like English,

and I really have to 'tune in' to realize they are speaking a different language.
een kopje koffie - for example - meaning is obvious even for us linguistically challenged British!
What cracks me up is the way the Dutch act REALLY surprised that a simple Brit could understand even that much!
Wheras Scandi languages sound quite different, all snoggi goggi ikea etc

Love / Is it acceptable for a Polish male to have a German girlfriend? [58]

ahhh....sir, ARE U BLIND???!

their kids are BLACK!

so what?
are you blind? I am obviously not a 'sir', don't you see the female symbol? Or as I suspect are you so illiterate you don't know what it means?

Can we get back on topic now..;)

Love / Is it acceptable for a Polish male to have a German girlfriend? [58]

Not only do their offspring NOT look the least bit german, but the poor kids will be entirely confused about having a white mother when they get older. It's a real pity.

maybe they do look German? You just cannot see it cos you are so busy obsessing about their dark skin.
Mixed race kids look good, there is no doubt.
They will hardly be the first brown kids with a white mum will they?
how do you manage to turn this thread into yet more of your boring crap.
The question was "Is it acceptable for a Polish male to have a German girlfriend". It is clearly stated above.
not, "what does Shai thingy think about black and white 'race mixing'"

to the OP I am sure it will be fine, but perhaps the doubt is in your own mind?
what would your family think about it?

hypercritical to refuse to eat some meats, as they are cute and loveable, whilst eating another cute and loveable animal.

hypocritical.
Rabbits are fair game, horses are not, IMHO. We ran over a rabbit the other night and it was delicious..;)

UK, Ireland / Obtaining driving License in UK or Poland ..which is easier [8]

Hi Wodka,
i did my test here in UK only 2 years ago so maybe I can help a bit.
You will have to do the theory test again, it's like a computer test and I have heard it is quite similar to the one in Poland.

You have to have passed the theory test before you book your practical test.
It does not matter how many hours you have done before you do the practical test, it is up to you.
Perhaps the best thing to do would be to book just a few hours driving lessons and ask the instructor if you are ready.
There is no obligation to do a set amount of hours before the test.
The driving test is more difficult than it used to be, or so I have heard.
Not many people pass on their first time.
Good luck,

Love / Any Polish Muslim girls living in Poland? [103]

My wife doesn't cover her head and she constantly has these retards staring at her as if she were from the moon.

well maybe she should cover her head then? When in Rome, etc etc?
I mean she doesn't need to put on a burka, just a loose hijab would show some respect?

Love / Child support in USA order (child born in Poland) [56]

You are assuming that this wasn't a scam by the women to get pregnant and use the kid as a sweet paycheck

and you seem to be assuming it was.......
'sweet paycheck' my fat azz, like having a kid as a single mother is an easy option to get a few dollars/quid/zlotych a month...? what?

I think most women would rather work in an office or whatever until they meet a GOOD man with whom to start a family. Sadly our judgement on this is often wrong.

meh...what do we know of the true facts, except that this OP is getting boring WITH HIS SHOUTY CAPITALS, and a lot of you seem to have a very low opinion of women. See above.

Oh and MARK, child support and access are two separate issues.

I choose to wear niqab(cover my face).I want to come to Poland and I am wonder if there is any polish muslim girl whom wear niqab and live in Poland.

you choose to cut yourself off from society......
.

I am polish and Poland is my country

If that was the case, you wouldn't need to ask these questions.
I still think you are a troll.

News / Don't let Poland become like my country, France. [630]

Perhaps you have unwittingly. Eaten in an asian restaurant recently?

RN it was a joke, 'pies' means 'dog' in Polish. I daresay I may well have a had a taste of dog or horse, but unlike our weird neighbours in France, I don't make a habit of it...;)

By emulating its immigration policies.

it's just a wrong comparison.
France had and still has untold colonies and possessions around the world. Poland had none.(AFAIK)

DID I MENTION EX WIFE TOOK 60K OUT THE BANK 2DAYS BEFORE GETTING ON THE PLANE....worst thing of all,SHE TOOK AWAY MY UNBORN CHILD!!!!!!!

with no reason whatsoever?
It would take a lot for a pregnant woman to leave a husband and get on a plane at that stage of pregnancy. A LOT!!!!!

Right, Sally, it does seem a bit of desperate move, hardly done without good reason, one would think.
I have known

some

men who carry around pictures of their kids as cute toddlers in their wallet to show people in the pub, and cry that their evil ex wife left, usually for no good reason, and doesn't let them see them, when in reality they have made no effort or contribution for the last X amount of years, and they were crap nasty husbands which in fact is why their wife left in the first place...;)

Have a nice day, y'all.

Genealogy / Writing to the council (tracing for father's step sister) [14]

"Thanking you..." in advance" is indeed quite formal and usually onlt reserved for commercial correspondence.

i would not dream of putting that in a business letter, it sounds really naff,

something a fat and sweaty fifty year old pub landlord from Wigan would say when you hand over a tattered banknote.

heheh quite!

Work / A Nigerian planning to relocate to Poland for better opportunity. [8]

from my experince they can be very racist!

yeh really I met some who think it's OK to shout 'kunta kinte' every time they see a brown face. If I were black I would go somewhere more....cosmopolitan.

It's bad enuff going to Poland and being stared at cos you are speaking a different language, as though you are from mars or somewhere.

And it's not even friendly curiousity, it's downright rude and mocking.

. Divorce means reneging on the marriage oath and breahing the contract so the divorcee is still a liar and perjurer. It is a filmnsy excuse that the other side initiated the divroce proceedings.

you do talk alot of outdated, insulting Krappe.

The UK, France, Italy, Germany, and one or two others colonised parts of the world.

er. off the top of my head......Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark,......not really 'one or two others'.
Any idea how much say, France and Belgium profited from colonialism>?
if you are ever in Antwerp, check out the main train station, a cathedral to the riches of slavery and colonialism.
So now there are more than a few immigrants from their (ex) possessions...tough s.hit really.

until recently I knew very little about cod

lol.... reminds me of the 100 point 'fish bonus' in Scrabble.

OP sounds like you are doing your homework, and someone like you will find work anywhere.

Life / Funeral arrangements for a foreigner in Poland [28]

He asked a question and if you don't have anything constructive to contribute then I too would have to wonder exactly who needs to get a life.

OK but I did contribute something constructive, (if you were to look back,) and so did other posters, and all he did was complain.
My next suggestion that he find the appropriate office may have been a little cocky, but anyone who would find the need to reply like this;

'Yeah just "go and find it" you stupid wh*re. Clearly you don't know what office it is or you could have said it...you would much rather be a snarky c*nt. F*ck Off.'

obviously does have some kind of communication problem and does need to get a life. Unless you too think that is normal?
Then you tell me that I insulted him? Oh dear....

Typical passive aggressive nonsense and it is very transparent.

It's become clear this forum is more of a place for such people to "hear themselves speak" as it where rather than actually provide help and inf

you are the most blatantly aggressive poster I have ever seen here. You clearly have a problem. It's a public forum, not a helpline or information service for people who are too dumb to help themselves. Get a life.

Some people seem to have their brains between theri legs.

You make these sweeping dismissive statements about modern life and then refuse to enter into any kind of debate about them.
So, yes, you are right. Some people DO seem to have their brains elsewhere.
