I am English & interested to know as poland is such a loverly looking place, why do you all need to come here to england?

Poles are natural born travellers.

Travel / Starbucks in Poland? [149]

Why does Krakow have only one? A puzzle, indeed. :):):)

Opened in September 2010..

The world's largest coffee chain Starbucks began operations in Krakow. The famous coffee in a white cup with a distinctive green-and-black logo will be available from today in the Krakow Gallery.

The decor of the Krakow premises is decorated in warm colors, with a predominance of dark brown. It has more than 120 square meters, in the middle - 33 seats. There are double and triple tables, comfortable armchairs and wooden chairs. Just like throughout the world, guests have free access to the Internet (Wi-Fi). The cafe is also adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

Bieganski:Who will stop this onslaught?

Why?

It seems I know why:
They use sub-par coffee beans and price it as if they were brewing the good stuff. Instead of saying "we use cheap burnt South American robusta coffee beans" they say, "we use a wonderful, straightforward blend of Latin American coffees." What's a "straightforward blend" anyway?

warsaw there are so many and I love there 2 pln refills which most people dont know about esp for my orignal

It seems you like drinking crap and paying through the nose for it! To each his own. :):):)

An interesting quote from my link:
Honestly, I think that the majority of people go to Starbucks because it makes them feel "trendy," and they like that. I actually feel kind of dorky going into one sometimes because I feel like people think I'm trying to be trendy, too. I just want coffee. And if I buy coffee before I go somewhere, I usually try to drink it before I go in. I also think that a lot of people that go there regularly really have no idea what "good" coffee tastes like, so they have no argument.

Travel / My impressions from Poland [26]

the OP's account blew my mind!

Yes, but what about this mysterious food?:

-Polish cuisine
It’s gorgeous! You have to try as many dishes as possible! I especially liked the combination of the fried cheese and marmalade. The only thing I didn’t like was hlatka (or whatever it is called).

Life / Good place to live in Poland (if you want to move on)? [66]

Poland, for example, you can freely go to a forest and nobody's going to shoot you just because you entered a private land or something...

Exactly. Forests in Poland are still state property.

Travel / Is it safe to travel to Poland? [194]

I was wondering if it would be safe for me and my family to travel to Poland on our own? Thanks,

Yes, unless a new American-built Dreamliner plane eventually crashes after experiencing a long history of manufacturing faults.

Work / NO JOBS IN POLAND FOR ENGLISH PEOPLE EXCEPT TEACHING? [44]

Hate to say it, but they just don't need us much or at all, unless we have a specialist skill such as economics or IT or engineering.

Exactly.

But there is always a chance that a job seeker is a good-looking, learned, amiable gentleman/woman with excellent approach to students. In such a case, it is possible he/she will find work as an English teacher in Poland against hardcore competition from Poles and expats.

Of course, none of us are perfect ;o)

Yes, I make horrible mistakes but I am too old to improve. Dave still has time for it, I suppose.
