UK, Ireland / Britain... What the Poles did for us. [444]

What do you do for a living G apart from being a homophobic racist?

Well, I'm also a xenopbobic sexist. Dude, I've got nothing against your chocolate but saying that Poles in the UK contribute nothing or don't integrate, you sound like a twat, especially that you are British living in Poland... what British are doing here ? Usually teach English or run some micro business. And usually even after years know maybe 10 Polish words. We wouldn't even notice If all of you disappeard, when If the same happened with Poles in the UK half of British companies would have very serious problem.

I just wanna know what would actually happen if all the Poles went home? Nothing cos we have enough Bulgarians, Romanians and soon croatians in our country. The Poles going home - big deal!

Of course unlike If some guy selling choclate would leave Poland... That would be disaster...

Life / Getting ripped off in Poland! Is it normal? or should it be tolerated? [97]

Well they have been trying to inflate the zl the last years to get it closer to 1:1 with the Euro for the change over but the worldwide economic problems put a hold on that scheme.

This ain't a conspiracy theory I know a few bankers that admitted it flat out and were investing heavily to profit off of it.

No, that's not conspiracy theory. That's total nonsense.

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

The sources vary wildly as with Grunwald, for example Długosz claimed there were sixty thousand teutonic knights alone while prussian chronicle by von Posilge claims there were 100 thousand tatars accompaning the polish royal forces.

I know and that's not true of course but serious estimations vary in case of Teutons from 16 thousand to even 38 thousand and in case of Polish-Lithuanian forces from 28 to 45 thousand, so together between 44 and 83 thousand, so maybe not for sure the biggest but definately one of the few biggest battles of medieval Europe.

and three Smolensk units, all of them infantry

Are you sure ?

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

Depends, for example at Azincourt the french army is estimated to have between 40 and 50

I checked a few sources and they says total French forces were between 20 and 30 thousand people and English only about 6 thousand. In Grunwald there were about 60 thousand people on both sides.

During the capture of Jerusalem Saladin commanded an army upwards of 40 thousand men

But that's not Europe and I think that Crusaders' forces were much smaller.

i'm interested in WWII. Its just 1410!!!!!

what has been has been, i can't change it and to be honest in the here and now it does not 'affect' me, yes it shaped the country etc but does not directly affect me now

Torn, this topic was posted in "Poland politics & history" section and so is perfectly OK here. If you aren't interested then just f. out and stop polluting this topic.

Work / Salary expectations in Poland [373]

Average salary in Poland now is ~2250PLN net but generally salaries vary very much between different regions, sectors or given companies. Sometimes people doing exactly the same job can make in comapny X two or even three times than in Y.
