News / Mass immigration to Poland - article and response [479]

Why...again...WHY ... are we only talking about MUSLIMS.

I have repeatedly expressed in more threads that MUSLIMS are a wayward nation. I have never been praising muslims...

IMMIGRANTS are not always muslims... for God's sake!

Because Muslims have wonderful places to visit and live all in the Middle East. Dubai is favorable destination for people of the Islamic faith. They can move there :D

There's 90 billion dollars worth of construction going on right this moment in Dubai.

UK, Ireland / Sad life of a Polish migrant in the UK. Ch. 5 - Racism [259]

The Vanilla Ice Cream Bar and the milk without the chocolate. The cotton ball. Puffy cloud in the sky. Goat Cheese. Mozerella. Snowman. White Wonder Bread. Ghost.

Fish Belly. Whitey. Milk of Magnesia. Drywall without the paint. China doll.

Love / I want to meet and date a Polish man [77]

he is mostly negative cold and lack sympathy or empathy

I think I am somewhat like that with everyone but my own family. Not lacking empathy, exactly, but I appear cold and aloof. I can be really negative and I'm not even a guy. It's just that people get on my nerves really easily. I think it's a matter of temperment.

Love / Are all Polish men Psychos? [111]

But my situation is already so bad it can`t get even worse....

Yeah, but do you attend classes where you woo strange females, handing out your phone number, telling them to call but never answering?

Love / Are all Polish men Psychos? [111]

She can look for someone who's available while being nice to this guy. I agree with both of you, it's like she is very needy and is already planning her life with this guy, seeing only what she wants to see and this guy is just being nice and social, but he has a life. Just because the guy has a wife and kids already, or a gf, doesn't mean she should hate him, start calling him a psycho, badmouthing him to others (unless he's lying and leading her on, it doesn't sound like he is, exactly). It's time to face reality.

Did he volunteer his phone number or did she get it after needling him and practically begging? Maybe he didn't want to cause trouble in the class by saying no, but he never planned to talk to her outside of the class.

How do you know he is using her? He is talking to her in the class but not during his spare time. That doesn't sound like "using". It sounds like he isn't that into her for some reason. If she really really likes him, she can talk to him in class. That's probably all she'll get. It's better than nothing, if she really likes him.

You can always demand to know, "ARE YOU MARRIED? DO YOU HAVE ANY KIDS? NO? THEN WHAT, EXACTLY, ARE YOUR PROBLEMS?" Do this right before class starts :D

It sounds like it's going nowhere, so, maybe you should just talk to the dude in class and leave it at that.
What you explained doesn't make this guy a psycho or a Jeckyl and Hyde, btw.

Food / POLISH RECIPES! [287]

I've been looking at ways to incorporate more vegetables, roots, and fruits into my diet. I am going to try Mizeria, Pistachio. I like English cucumbers better than the pickling variety. Since I am trying new ways to prepare meals with veggies, I am on the lookout for new recipes. Another favorite of mine, with cucumbers, is a dill -yogurt- cucumber sauce. The cool flavor of the cucumber (a bit melony but without the sweetness) mixes well with the dill and yogurt. I noticed the dill in your Mizeria recipe, too. I like that combination, cucumbers with sour cream and dill or yogurt and dill.

News / Prediction: Poland to be World Superpower in XXI century [147]

That's embarrassingly off topic, Seanus. Let's just agree it's not the US who wants to stop Eastern Europe from progressing. We aren't immediate neighbors. Those would be Britain, France, Germany and Russia. That's where you have to look, Seanus.

News / Prediction: Poland to be World Superpower in XXI century [147]

America is in deep debt, a recession and the infrastructure is crumbling, in places. The schools are failing and churning out too many math/science/reading illiterates. While other places are building skyscrapers, ours are getting old and some are being targeted by terrorists.

If you want to see where real hyperpower is, turn your eyes toward the middle east and Russia and away from America.

RUSSIA doesn't want more competition. Seanus, you need to forget about America and visit some other places in the world. Go see the cities of the future. Hint: they aren't in America. Quit lying and trying to make America look omnipotent when it's obvious other countries have much more money and much newer cities. Does Washington DC have a brand new rotating wind tower? Moscow does. And yet America has tons of money and controls everything. Where is our new tower, if that's the case? Read up on the times, Seanus! You're living in a different decade. It might have been true years ago, but not now.

USA, Canada / What do the Poles hate and love about the U.S.? [170]

TheOther,
Not all places were hit equally by the recession. My area has a lot of natural energy sources that have been in high demand for several years now. We have been in a boom for a while now, so the recession didn't hit hard here. I suggest you do some reading up on the recession and the differences in locations, how hard different ones were hit and which ones weren't hit as hard as others. That way you will get a better idea of what the recession really is :)

UK, Ireland / Poland continues to milk Ireland dry. [129]

Admit what?

Here to get "opposing views" otherwise known as trolling. I am not here to get opposing views exclusively but to have what I hope are productive discussions.

I am here to get an opposing view. I could post on an Irish forum, but I would be preaching to the choir in the vatican!

Hmm. So you admit it.

Life / Why are Poles in other countries called "Plastic Poles"? [168]

How do you know? What about the govt handing out bail outs to banks and auto manufactures. Some argue it was because of mismanagement and CEOs living above their means when their corporations were distressed. You could say it's a type of white collar crime and it's very widespread, apparently. Face it. Criminals are everywhere and when you wave money under someone's nose most often they lose all sense of ethics.

Life / Why are Poles in other countries called "Plastic Poles"? [168]

That's because it's the poor who are more likely to commit crimes

Not always. Poor people are more likely to get caught and go to jail. Ever hear of white collar crime? There's plenty of it. Who knows how much of it goes undetected because we don't want to tarnish the good image of the Harvard graduate?

Love / Polish Girls negative or positive personality trait? [267]

In fact, why don't you divide your time between the USA and UK.

What are you trying to say? Just because you don't agree with her she is perfect for either the UK or the USA? You sound very narrow minded and limited in you grasp of individuality. Just because someone doesn't conform to your opinions doesn't mean they aren't welcome wherever they wish to go.

History / WWII - who really was the first to help Poland? [900]

Why does nobody talk about polish diplomacy failures during the build up to this war?

Excuses! Someone fails at diplomacy they are invaded? What if we used that line of logic on Germany next time they do something in their best interest that we don't like? Not something necessarily wrong by international standards, but something that everyone is okay with and helps Germany out. Do we have an excuse to invade Germany over that?

History / WWII - who really was the first to help Poland? [900]

On the backing that America wanted an end to the European war to continue their offensive in Asia.

More like because people were dying and so many had lost their lives. Why not put the human spin on it? It wasn't just so America could continue an offensive in Asia whatever that means.
