News / Local elections in Poland, EU citizens should register to vote [57]

I hope all EU citizens here in Warsaw with a "Staly Meldunek" (just as me) have registered to vote in the local elections, and will go to vote. The PIS morons will loose anyway, big time. But it would be great if Hannah would win in the first round. Just to send a message to the duck. And to get rid of the cross loonies. They are still polluting the pavement of Krakowskie P. with their ridiculous candles.

News / WHY IS POLAND STILL GIVEN THE COLD SHOULDER? [197]

I do not think anybody here (except these sad PIS morons) care about Poland being a "major player". People want to live in a stable society. PIS provides hatred and catholic fascism (and what happened in £ódż was the result of that, it is their own mistake and JK is the main culprit)

But every single project carried out in this country mentions "financed by the EU".
For the first time in its history Poland is part of a democratic, stable and prosperous organisation.
And for all your kowtowing to the US (Iraq, Afghanistan, torturing of prisoners on Polish soil) you are still treated by the Yanks as third-class.

You know me as a Belgian, I do not need a visa for the US. But I never ever would like to go there. Period. I prefer Kraków.

News / New budget airport for Warsaw to open in 2012 [16]

My brother came to Warsaw last weekend, Wizzair from Eindhoven. No complaints at all. OK he had to pay 15 EUR for the luggage, but could take 32 kilos. Good deal.

The inflight entertainment on the return flight was also OK - Straż Granicza arrested on the plane a dead-drunk Dutch "football fan" with 3.0 in his blood :)))

Food / Where to buy seafood in Warsaw? [8]

I used to buy mussels in Kuchnia Świat in Arkadia...But they do not sell them anymore.
Carrefour is doing that now these days, but I do not trust them at all, they are perfectly willing to give a food poisoning.
So...where I can I buy in Warsaw mussels on Thursday / Friday?

Life / Ecco Walkathlon. What a contrast - the modern Poland versus the primitive loonies. [17]

Here in Poland non-religious fundraising should get a statue (perhaps an obelisk). No place for bigotry.
Anyway as it is, I like the Ecco event. Well-organised, civilized. Raises pots of money for worthy charities (none of them religious, bigoted or nationalistic). Gave me a chance to burn some calories as well :)

Life / Ecco Walkathlon. What a contrast - the modern Poland versus the primitive loonies. [17]

Today we took part in the Ecco Walkathlon. 20.000 normal people taking part in this great charity walk. Yes OK I know Ecco is organizing for their own benefit, but in the same moment it is a great non-religious fundraising event. Very well organised. Very effective. And as I we were walking through KM... I was thinking... what a contrast. The modern Poland versus the primitive loonies.

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

It would be a good idea to confiscate from the cross loonies camping on the pavement their pension to cover these expenses. After all their candles are ruining the pavement. They are the reason the police is there fulltime. This money could have been spent on other things.

News / Weekend of carnage as 41 people lose their lives on Poland's roads [44]

Hmmm, I was riding back from the pub a few times after some beers. Not drunk but by car I would be well over the limit. So the bike was a safer option :)

No policeman stopped me then. I guess it is because I managed to ride coherently somehow :)
I agree with you by the way that cutting down on drunk road pirates is a good thing, anytime.

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

Polonius3:
But the PR-obsessed president prefers to turn a blind eye lest any action on his part should affect the PO's ratings ahead of next year's general poll.

Or maybe, the smartest thing to do is leave it there while PiS's opinion poll ratings slide? The whole "cross war" thing has been nothing but good for PO as a whole.

I think that is the best thing to do. Other side is that the loonies are polluting the most elegant street in Warsaw and destroying the pavement with their candles.

But no problem. Hopefully a very wet and windy autumn and a freezing winter...
Every day they stay, JK goes down in the polls, that is for sure.

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

? They were calling the episcopate on TV "traitors".
I rather would call the bishops cowards in this case
It is by the way about time they charge the loonies for all the police hours wasted on them.
They also make the new pavement dirty by the way with their candles

Life / What's the going (bribe) rate to avoid a speeding ticket in Poland? [24]

If you read the original post, i'm asking could i have got away with less than 100zl, for future reference.

You could always drive within the speed limits - that is also an option. Maybe for future reference that is the way to go?
I got fined in February for speeding as well - only felt irritated I had to pay on the spot.
But as Delph explained - I was lucky, by this way it did not cost me any points.
Got a nice receipt though :)

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

That is where you are wrong. The loonies camping out there are not "individuals". They represent a sizeable minority = PIS electorate - of Polish society. This is not even a piligrimage. Remember they called the episcopate "traitors".

News / New cross war in Warsaw [530]

He could have used some acid, would have been much more effective and so much better.
Anyway, the cross loonies are now demanding that their hero will get a pedestal (or better said, an obelisk with HIS NAME) near prince Poniatowski.

Not only would this be an insult to yet another genuine Polish heroe (first was cold Lech in the Wawel). Also shows the utterly breathtaking arrogance of the Duck clan and the PIS sect.

Could they not put their memorial to their "heroes" in that monstruous church they are building in Wilanów?

Travel / Holiday in Poland - do I need to learn Polish? [26]

Not really!!! i live here and i don't speak polish i speak english with everybody

I think that it is a scandal. You live in Poland (or maybe not and it could be a troll), so why do you expect people here to speak in English. Disgraceful!

With what kind of God-given arrogance do you expect people here to adapt to you, bloody disrespectful expat?
Or is it just plain laziness?

The Old Marshal despised that warped antisemitic.
What your point troll? to roll?

You know very well that the Old Marshal was all in favour of a Commonwealth. Very much in favour of the emancipation of the minorities. I know it does not fit in your view of Polish history (still reading the protocols as bedtime lecture?). And he has to share Wawel with your "hero".
