Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

Of course it isn't more expensive than Canada. But it seems you cannot even do simle market research and compare rent prices...

As i said, it is a brand new idea to be started just in the middle of 2016, so i am still triggering data for Market Research. I just came here (and on another places) to have some insights of promising cities. After that i will look for the rent prices (of course i know the rent levels at Krakow or Warsaw, but i have no idea of Katowice, for example).

orget buying property you cant even rent/renovate/furnish/pay deposit and rent for that place.

Pigsy, in one of my experiences, i helped a hostel to be open in Vancouver with 60 beds using 72 000 USD (43 000 of initial investment + 19 000 of working capital for the first 3 months). Rented property, obviously, but almost every hostel in the world is with rented place.

So you are saying that Poland is more expensive than Canada?

Guys, thanks for all the suggestions, but i am asking specifically about Hotels/Tourism related business because i have years of experience on that, which is important.

If i opened a supermarket i would put all that knowledge on the garbage.

Thanks :)

Study / Polish schools and Polish educational system level in your eyes [135]

The University of Economics of Katowice have an agreement with my University in Brazil (USP, the best university of Latin America) and they have world class reputation.

Jagiellonian and Warsaw University also have good reputation.

I Think your parents were extremelly exagerated to say Poland is a S*** Country.

Life / Do the Poles have a positive attitude towards the Danes and Denmark? [16]

So good that Denmark doesnt changed into a Muslim State like Sweden (or Swedenistan)...

speisa.com/modules/articles/index.php/item.574/swedish-school-bans-the-swedish-flag.html

The prompt isn't about Islam or Muslim people in Denmark, so please return to the topic

Love / Polish men like Latin girls? What do u find attractive in a girl physically & emotionally? [29]

Mexican boys are stupid (without offending, but it's true). i'm Mexican, yeah, but mexican boys have a very narrow chauvinist mind: if you go and break the ice you're desesperate.

Not just Mexican.

And not just Boys.

Most Latin Americans (Boys AND Girls) think on that stupid and pathetic way. The girl and the boy needs to play games and fake that they want another thing that it is not what they really want and blablabla. I was so tired of playing games.

In the beginning it is even interesting, like chess. But then after some time you just get TIRED.

By the way, it is very common Polish Men date Latin girl. I think that it is a very common Inter-continental pattern for poles outside.

Life / Could Poland become an immigrant country? [42]

There are two types of immigrants:

1 - Those that embrace the culture, came to work, produce and invest. Those help the country to growth, spread science and knowledge and are welcome.

2 - Those that came to leech government benefits and destroy the culture. (Like what we see nowadays in London, Zurich or Paris).

Poland receive the 1st type is not bad, actually give a lot of benefits for the poles (imagine if suddenly some Korean mechanical engineers or Brazilian nuclear engineers decide to move to Poland, how that would help the country to develop).

Poland receive the 2nd type IS PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY BAD AND THAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED.
How to avoid the 2nd type (the bad immigrant)? It is simpler than it look: DONT GIVE GOVERNMENT BENEFITS to them!!!!!!

Work / Moving from India to Warsaw to study. Need information about Warsaw city, jobs etc. [40]

Dude, what those guys complaining that Poles don't speak English want??? Or complaining about Poles be catholic?

A Red Carpet? People serving champagne just because you are a foreigner student?

Poland where 6 decades under Russian domination! And at this time Russian was the second language! Do a google research before move there to not look stupid when complaining about obvious things! And if you feel uncounfortable around catholics, screw yoU! Go to another place then!

Sometimes i feel ashamed of other foreigners. And i even start to think that honorable and respectful immigrants to Poland (like i was) are a minority.

Polonia / Any Poles in Thailand? [3]

There are poor girls looking for money and passport everywhere. It is just stupid to point that (besides, Thailand, specially Bangkok, is not an extremely poor place, but more like an emerging economy).

Said that, i extremely doubt that someone goes to Thailand to look for a stable relationship (or even worse, for a wife).

It is more look for girls/boys/shemales to party, drink, and go nuts.

Thai people, all those that i know, are very nice and friendly. Very respectful also, they respect other cultures and beliefs. I just think that their food is tooooooo spicy/smelly for me. But there are also many people that like it.

News / Why is Amazon not present in Poland? [57]

Yeah! Lets change the system and go back to the old communist that was in Poland for 60 years, were people should work or go to Gulag!!!!

........

Of course that in the communism you also have the wonderful option of just get shot in the head, alleviates the suffering.

(It is so sad see young people defending communism in a country like Poland, that was already devastated by that murderous ideology. Why they didnt learned with their parents?)

Polonia / Working with a Polish Passport or a British passport in Abu Dhabi? [7]

Poland is at the second tier, together with the other eastern european countries, koreans and latin americans.

British are at the first tier, so yes, British nationals receive bigger salaries. BUT if you just have the passport, but studied and lived all your life in another country, maybe they put you at the second tier. On the other hand, if you are a Pole, but had all your education in Great Britain in a good university, then maybe your employer give you british salary.

Yes, I suppose. Are you Polish? Has anyone actually had experience of this first hand?

I am not Pole, but there are plenty of them here. Actually even the salaries of the 2nd tier usually are WAY higher than any salary in Poland, so no need to worry.

Life / Multiracial Poles [154]

They are British kids now and what is the problem?

As you said, they are british kids, not poles. So not a problem for Poland anyway.

I Think that you didnt understood what i wrote. I was clear when i said that the problem is when in mixed couples one side (especially the man) try to enforce his culture throat below the other side and the kids and still call themselves poles.

If a kid doesn't speak polish and feel ashamed to have polish heritage (ahaha this is so PATHETIC, but ok), this kid is not pole EVEN if looks like one.

If a kid speak polish, like poland, and is proud of his 50% polish ascendancy, even not looking completely like a pole, this kid is one.

Polonia / Working with a Polish Passport or a British passport in Abu Dhabi? [7]

I have been told mixed messages that if you have a British passport he will receive better pay?

That is true. I live in a city close to Abu Dhabi, and in this part of the world works like that:

There are 3 ties of wage for the same position, according to your passport:

1st Tier, Best wages: If you are American, Canadian, Japanese, Australian, Western European or Emirati.
2nd Tier: Middle Wages: If you are Eastern European, Russian, Latin American or Korean
3rd Tier: Lower Wages: If you are African or South-Asian

The difference between the tiers can be as high as 50%.

Life / Multiracial Poles [154]

I Think that mixed kids are not a problem for any country.

The problem is mixed cultures.

I am brazilian, my girlfriend is polish. If someday (still far away haha) we have kids, those kids, independent of the appearance, will learn polish, will be catholic and eat pierogi.

Much bigger problem than that are mixed kids (or even 100% polish kids) that don't learn proper polish, leave their culture, convert to foreigners religions, stop drinking and eating pork and are ashamed of their heritage. THIS IS THE REAL MENACE.

Dude, i will repeat: I LIVE IN A COUNTRY that applies Sharia Law!

Almost the whole GCC (Saudi, Kuwait, Qatar) applies it.

At Saudi woman cannot even drive and they have a square where every weekend they cut head of people. I LIVE IN ARABIA, don't tell me that this is not happening because it is.

PLOT TWIST: I Live in an Arab country, i am not giving an opinion through CNN.
So i KNOW what happens with non-muslims here. Don't say that they are happy for their treatment.

Nobody is here because they are happy but because of money. Simple as that.

Give Erdogan a few more years and he will take care of this. Then you can safely kiss Turkey goodbye and forget about it.

Exactly.

With Erdogan, soon Turkey will go to extremist fundamentalism.

I can bet that in the next 4 or at most 5 years he will launch some military operations against smaller countries (Cyprus?) to start to build his freaky idea of empire.

UK, Ireland / Pakis VS Poles in the UK [62]

yes it is :

You forget to say that under Sharia law, Catholics (and also any other non-muslim) need to pay Jizya, a amount of month every month just to exercise the right to have their own religion.

(Of course countries like Turkey doesn't apply that, since Turkey is not Sharia-ruled, yet).

Love / Would Polish people mind dating someone from Mexico? [12]

I am Latin American also (Brazilian) and my girlfriend is Polish.

I Found interesting because i almost don't feel any major cultural shock (more like a weather shock? haha). Actually both cultures fit very well (maybe because poles also mass-emigrated to Brazil during the last century and helped to shape part of our culture).

The only Latin thing that i realized poles really don't like is unpunctuality... they take that a bit serious.
Also people there in Poland are a bit more conservative (more than Brazil, but probably not more than Mexico since Mexico is also much more conservative than Brazil). But this is not bad, since it is the way they found to preserve their way of life.

I Spent few months in Poland and i travel there on a monthly basis and until now i felt very welcome by absolutely everyone.

Joking apart I've been to Spain, However the Hispanics there are not as friendly as the Mexican Hispanics.

Haha totally not.

Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

don't have access to cheap money as Korean firms have

European Union is, if not cheaper then the korean sources, at least in the same level.

But you are right when you say that (still) Poland doesn't have a big number of transnational corporations.

Particularly the fact that you have mentioned "opening an airline or a football stadium is too complicated and demanding"

It was just a joke actually, since it is impossible to open an airline with 60 thousand usd of own capital.

And also of course that open an airline in any UE country nowadays is almost suicide. High taxes and, most of all, labour unions, will rip you alive and chew your meat.

At this moment, and i hope you will not take this personal, it sounds like you have no idea as to what you really want to do

I Didn't took it as offense, don't worry. And you are right that i don't know EXACTLY what i want to do (Except that i want to use my knowledge about Tourism Revenue Management, since i am, modesty apart, very good at it). That is why i am gathering ideas, doing brainstorm, with such a huuuge antecipation (remember, all this is just for 2016).

I sent you a PM by the way to know more about this startup.

Work / Suggestions for starting a business in Poland ( I have 50/60,000 USD ) [59]

It seems to me that you actually do not know what you want to do, how to do it and where to do it. You have now gone from "Lounge Bar" to "Hostel".

The knowledge that i accumulated working in Chile, Qatar and Brazil on tourism revenue management can be used on both sectors (and also at the airline industry or at the entertainment area, but open an airline or a football stadium is... a bit complicated and more demanding haha).

Hi Levi, may i ask you what it is that makes you want to invest in Poland?

1 - Poland is one of the few countries in the world that have the 2 conditions that, together, make a good place to invest: It is a politically stable country, growing economy. Example: My previous country, Chile, for example, is growing but is no stable at all. On the other hands, stable countries like Uruguay doesn't show any economical growth.

2 - Quality of life (I live in the richest country in the world nowadays, but i can say that Poland have a better quality of life. Different than here, Poland allows you to drink, for example).

3 - The future of Poland is rather exciting. I see the country with a potential to be in the future what South Korea is today. A Huge well-educated population, a lot of remittances coming from expatriated poles financing the country and a market economy will make this country skyrocket into a high-income economy.

4 - My girlfriend is polish.
