History / Why did communism in Poland fail? [180]

Poland wouldn't have fought socialism so tooth and nail. The heavy Russian hand came from communism. Sorry, queuing at 4am in the morning just ain't socialism. It's sth more.

Love / Polish women USED TO BE much more attractive: [162]

I agree, pip. Some Poles are easily led and have succumbed to this nonsense called the rat race. They want fast options where taking your time will do. It's all about planning carefully so why make yourself plump because of a lack of it??

News / Poland has most world's beautiful coin [13]

Ach, it's a matter of taste. The beauty of some objects is easier to judge. The world's most beautiful coin is like the world's most beautiful vagina, quite hard to judge, really.

There are some porkers around but just wait til the sun becomes more of a mainstay. You'll see quite a few with lovely stomachs out and about. To me, a large part of attraction is personality. Lust after only looks and you show your shallowness.

Great post, Monia. Metabolism is a major factor. My wife eats quite a bit more than I do, as does her father. They are slim. I am overweight yet don't eat that much. Exercise plays its part but my metabolism could be much better.

UK, Ireland / Poles in the UK not a problem as far as i can tell [79]

I think it was the first wave that caused the biggest problem. Some were like caged animals let loose and didn't fully think things through. The ones that bided their time were more selective in where they wanted to be. I keep coming back to the main point that people are people and you can't classify a whole group.

Work / What are my chances in finding work at a callan school in Wroclaw? [22]

It can't be taken seriously as a method if you don't contextualise it. You have to paint pictures for students and that means giving them real-life, natural applications. I got fed up with students asking me about dated expressions which have no real relevance in the modern world.

USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

Floury food are hardly super healthy. The pierogi ruskie I get are often dripping with fat, so much so that I have to wear only underwear when eating them at home or else the fat will stain my shirt or breeks. It's far from healthy and let's not even say that salads are strictly Polish.

Life / Back from Poland! I belong there! [16]

It is Portuguese but I guess even JK thinks it's Polish :)

Belonging takes a long time usually. If you can stabilise your feelings then you may well feel you belong here.
