News / Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy. [2554]

day of decisive protest against PiS

Decisive protest by the old guard nomklatura crew, PO operatives, retired PRL-era military brass and others suppoting the self-serving status quo and opposed to reforms that will giver ordianry foklk a larger slice of the pie. Decisive? In what way? No, just a re-run of their boringly predictable old antics. They've chanted and ranted before and are probably stupid enough to repeat that futile rumpus again. But it has no bearing on the country as a whole nor on the lives of average Poles.

Merged: Anti-government committee marks June 1989 partially free elections

The self-styled Committee for the Defence of Democracy (KOD) led a march through the streets of Warsaw to mark the anniversary of the partially free June 1989 election that led to the collapse of communist rule. Every since the conservative PiS party won last October's election, KOD has been staging protest rallies and marches to voice their disapproval of the sweeping reforms the new government has enacted. Former presidents Aleksander Kwaśniewski and Bronisław Komorowski were among the marchers who included advocates of the former pro-business Civic Platform party, retired former communist officials, assorted nomenklatura types and many ordinary citizens swayed by the organizers' pro-democracy rhetoric who believed they were "marching for freedom". Conspicuously absent was Lech Wałęsa who sides with the anti-government committee but says he will join in only when two million people take to the streets.

News / Poland may take the EU to court if they step up pressure -- Kaczyński [89]

they can't be challenged by any courts

Let's not forget that the TK was the creation of the late communist dictator Jaruzelski. He also set up WRON (the martial-law council) and PRON (celebrities for martila law). All those moves were designed to defuse antui-communist dissident activites. Poland already has a Supreme Court and there is no reason for the taxpayer to support yet antother gang of toga-clad parasitic bureaucrats.

witch-hunts

Why is it that those with things on their conscience always complain of alleged witch-hunts or rummaging about in people's biographies and want to keep their dirty secrets classified? That is not transparency, that is sweeping things under the carpet!

News / Poland may take the EU to court if they step up pressure -- Kaczyński [89]

democratic standards and norms to be obeyed

Yeah, sure, Romania, Lithuania and Bulgaria epitomise the ideals of democratic rule. When the multinational corporations and their compliant pro-big-business bloc the EU find something to be in their interest, they can turn a blind eye to most anything. All the prattle about democratic standards, constitutionality and suchlike are window-dredssing for the gullible voting masses. You know you don't really belitve such bluster and codswalllop. Since time immemorial deals have been clinched not by parliaments or governments, not at conferences or ceremonial signings but by the Realpolitik powers that be in discreet backrooms without TV crews or snooping reporters about. In Poland's case it was not the filmed and photographed roundtable at the Presidential Palace but over drinks and food at Magdalenka. But since all things have to end, the quarter-century-long power monopoly of the Magdalenka clique ended last October.

News / Poland may take the EU to court if they step up pressure -- Kaczyński [89]

are essentially worthless

The EU's stick and carrot is not all that new, in fact it has existed since the dawn of civilisation. It was used by monarchies and republics, religous denominations and atheists, rightists. leftists and anyone else in power. Putin's Russia also charges different prices depending on how compliant and pro-Moscow the client countries are. Incentives, disincentives, rewards and penalties, deterrents, pressure, blackmail -- it's all old hat!

minimum expectations

Siding with one faction of an internal dispute was never stipulated in any of the EU treaties. Is telling a country how to run its court system and what to legislate those minimum expectations? Even the Venice commission insisted that parliament started the trouble and parliament should resolve the issue. If it wasn't for the sntichers' brigade, the Schetynas, Petrus and Kijowskis regularly embarking on snitching expeditons to Brussels, Berklin, Paris, Washingtion and lobbying for outside intervention, this whole mess would never have occurred.

Merged: Celebrity status does not mean evading justice -- Ziobro

Polański does not deserve preferential treatment and should be extradited to the US, says Polish Prosecutor General. Last October, a Polish court rejected a US request to extradite film-maker Roman Polański over a 1978 charge of sexually abusing a minor. Since then, Poland's new hard-line Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro began questioning that decision, contending that Polański's celebrity status had helped him evade justice. "I've decided to file an appeal with the Supreme Court against the ruling (not to extradite Polański) in a situation when he's accused of and wanted for the a rape of a child," Ziobro explained. "If he was just a regular guy, a teacher, doctor or plumber, I'm sure he'd have been deported from any country to the US a long time ago," Ziobro also announced plans to stiffen the penal code as regards rapists and other sexual offenders.

very lenient to Poland

Au contraire, the EU treaty Poland signed did not envisage punitive intervention in Poland's internal affairs. Since you and your KODerast cronies support all anti-Polish actions, they may be lenient since they haven't invaded so far, but this is the first time any country has been subjected to such exrtreme bullying. That EU attitude is only grist to the mill of Brexit supporters.

News / Poland may take the EU to court if they step up pressure -- Kaczyński [89]

Poland may take the European Union to its own court over alleged rule of law charges, Kaczyński warns. If the European Union steps up its pressure on Poland over alleged rule of law violations, Warsaw is prepared go to the top European Union court to challenge an EU procedure launched against it earlier this year, the ruling party's feisty leader Jarosław Kaczyński warned. In January, the EU launched an unprecedented inquiry into whether Poland's Law nad Justice government had breached the bloc's democratic standards through its attempted reform of the country's constitutional court. The first use of the EU executive's new Rule of Law Framework, adopted in 2014, could eventually lead to sanctions such as a suspension of Poland's voting rights in the EU's executive. Kaczyński argues that no such clauses were found in the EU treaty signed by Poland. "If things gets fierce, we will demand our day in court," Kaczyński said. The dispute stems from changes Poland's new government introduced late last year to regulate the Constitutional Tribunal. The opposition claimed the changes were undemocratic and begna lobbying for EU intervention in the case.

KODerasts

My translation of the Polish koderaści. A play on pederaści. The French used the term fédéraste (a play on pédéraste) to describle those pushing for a United States of Europe.

If they walked around the church there msut have been four altars located thereabouts. Our own small parish in Żoliborz had maybe 400 at mass and the procession covering about a 1.5 km to the four altars and lasting 2 hours. The procession passes by our home so we decorate it with a crucifix, flowers and crossed Polish and Vatican flags.

Several thousand took part at the much larger St Stanislaus Kosta Church (Bl. Jerzy's parish) nearby.

More take part than the rabble-rousing KODerasts you are so fond of. Just imagine, Holy Mass followed by a procession to four altars in every single of the several thousand parishes in Poland. Congregations range from several hundred to several thousand. Dunno if any figures are available but it's a staggering number.

rabble on the streets at Corpus Christi

That's how you show respect to your hospitable host country which proudly venerates the Holy Eucharist in cities, towns and villages across the nation on Boże Ciało. That holiday even the commie regime was afraid to suppress!

What's your vile remark called in your books: tolerance, understanding, kindness, good taste, tact, diplomacy, politeness?!

He's widely considered by

A Soviet-trained turncoat who freely served Poland's enemies, his Kremlin masters, and after the war was personally invovled in destroying Poland's AK freedom-fighters. To save his own skin, he and Kiszczak had tonnes of incriminating CP documents shredded at the Konstancin-Jeziorna papermill. If that's your definiton of a patriot, then I feel sorry for you.

He was a traito

That's what I said -- in fact the whole Michnik clan were traitors and their son seems to have sucked his soft-on-commies approach with his mother's milk. When one's coutnry is enslaved by an alien invader like the USSR, those who collaborate are the traitors, not those who fight for their country's freedom the way Kukliński did. Remember, he paid the supreme price and lost his only two sons to the long tentacles of the Kremlin. Jaruzel actually got a military funeral although he should have been buried in rogues' lane.

Michnik

Coming as he did from a judaeo-bolshevik family of subversive traitors, Michnik called traitors Jaruzelski and Kiszczak "men of honour" and referred to the first Polish officer in NATO, the heroic Col Kukliński, as a traitor. Nothing more needs be said.

News / Candidate for Poland's National Bank NBP chief Glapiński wants repolonisation of banks [60]

It takes generations to build the infrastructure

Indeed, and rather than getting the ball rolling in the early '90s, Balcerowicz treated the nation of shock therapy. So no work was done on creating a viable industrial base, in fact that notion did not even come up.

To dismiss the existing industrial base as fit only for liquidation is an oversimplificaton. Example, the Honker, military patrol and reconnaissance vehicle was praised by American forces in Iraq. No it was not a Humvee, that was not its purpose. Instead of finding a major strategic Polish or foreign investor, the brand has been bounced about by various companies, none of which were able to turn the Honker into a hot export item.

small-scaled entrepreneurship fairly exploded all over the place

Yes, but where you here at the time? Poles travelling to Germany in their cars to bring back a bootful of lemons and those selling chewing gum, lighters, garlic, cheap shampoos, shoelaces and other doodads on the streets right off newspapers spread on the pavement or crates, in some cases actaully graduated to small corenr shops. They did not evovle into automotive, aircraft, appliance or computer producers. It is precisely that element -- indigenous Polish industrialism -- that remains missing from the equation.

If you feel so strongly abotu it, go and report it to the police, prosecutor or whomever.

Polish employers

Only proves my point. Instead of dynamically launching a Polish enterpreneurship education campaign in the early 1990s, Balcerowicz listened to Soros & Sachs and started wtih the destruction of Poland's industrial base.

"If you don't cheat a goy early on, it's a wasted day".

But I learnt that from Jews. It's as common amongst them as "an applie a day keeps the doctor away" is for Anglo-goyim or Ordnung muß sein for the Gerries.

The Talmud, which I'm sure you're familair with, clearly describes what Goyim are good for. I'll let you research it independently if you don't already know.

Looks as though the good-change govt went after the jubk contracts. Good for them!
BTW pollster TNS Polska found that if the presidential election were held today, Duda would get 60% and Komorowski 40% of the vote. Last May Duda won by only about 3 points. Among the 18-29 years olds some 70% would vote for Duda. Anaylsts are saying that the good-change govt is following through on their pledges, foremost amongst them 500+. All the ranting and snitching is onyl turning young Poles away from the losers' camp. KOD and their stooges are really p*ssing in the wind!

anti-Semitic ranting

Because there is no anti-Semitic ranting on PF either, at least not on my part. As you'll recall, Ihave repeatedly said Poles should be more like Jews: stick together rather than being at each others' throats and spring to their nation's defence rather than snitch to outsiders against one's own country (KOD style). And emulation is the highest form of praise. The value placed by Jews on education over the centuries has paid off for them, resulting in their dominant, often controlling position in science, arts, academia and government, as attested to i.a. by the number of Nobel Prizes they have won. That does not blind one however to the atrocities committed against Poles by the Bermans, Brystygiers, Romkowskis, Mietkowskis, Michniks, Różańskis and many, many others. And all those things I have written about in the US Polonia press over the years.

Being the gifted cyber-stalker you are, I'm sure you have ways of calling them up.

required massive amounts of capital

The collapse of the (Soviet) "Evil Empire" and liberation of half of Europe from the Soviet yoke was received in Ameirca and elsehere in the Free World with great enrthusiasm. If the "founding fathers" of III RP had tapped into that exuberant elation adn properly approached the US, probably the necessary capital for independent industrial devleopment could have been acquirwed. But that was not in the interests of the Soros agenda and how it ended up everyone can see: next to zero major Polish-owned industrial assets -- meaning automotive, aircraft, computer, RTV, etc. manufacturing facilities employing thousands and exporting their products world-wide.

BTW where do I report or sign up to get paid for what you call shilling? The opinion expressed here are what I have always sincerely believed and reported in the US Polonian press, but if someone is willing to pay me for it, why not?!

PiS's first government

PiS in 2005-2007at first tried to go it alone as a minority govt but that didn't work so they took on partners: Lepper and Giertych. Trying to goverrn with such unruly sidekicks was an uphill struggle, so PiS were unable to achieve what they had planned. The 4th Republic project was aimed at curtailing the Magdalenka monopoly and stranglehold on Polish affairs and development. As the outright winner of the last election the govt can now pursue their good change agenda without obstacles thrown in their path by unreliable coalition partners.

I'm saying there's no such thing. It's a fairytale

So it's just a make-believe fairy tale that the same 1989 Magdalenka and 1992 parliamentary "coup" schemers were still running the show until 2015. Only Kuroń had died in the meantime and Moczulski has disappeared from view. Is that because in your view they are all the most gifted, virtuous and sterling statesmen or simply the smoothest, slickest and glibbest poltical wheeler-dealers?

Jeffrey Sachs

Sachs and Soros inspired Balcerowicz to destroy Poland's industrial base via so-called "privatisation" meaning selling things off for a song to foreign interest groups. A dynamic entrepreneuship programme at that time could have salvaged and modernised much of what was effectively sold off or destroyed. The proof is the world demand for Polish motor vehicles, bicycles, light aircraft, appliances, Radio-TV equipment sporting gear and many other products. The Polonez hatchback and its predecessor the 125P saloon were exported to a couple dozen countries including Britain, France. Denmark, China, Egypt, Greece, Holland and Spain. They were even assembled in a number of countries. That is not to suggest that these products could compete in quality with more established Western brands but many were a good value for their money and with proper pro-Polish management could have been modernised and upgraded to meet growing market requirements.

one foot in reality

So you think only the Magdalenka clique, known for their backroom deals with the commies, should run the country indefinitely as they have for the past 26 years? You also approve of the Soros-Sachs-inspired Balcerowicz scheme to destroy Poland's industrial base? You also favour PRL-era political, police nad military brass gettign fat-cat pension while many of those they oppressed live in poverty? And you want to keep Poland a neo-colonial state serving foreign interest groups with cheap manpower and assembly sites? If so, be sure to vote for the PO scamsters.

coalition is on 26%

What coalition? One doesn't maek a colaiton with a party that hasn't cleared the 5% threshold. It's unlikely the PSL will make into the Sejm next time round. According to normal arithmetic it's 37% for PiS and 35% for the losers' camp. The latter are likely to lose support if they continue their anti-Polish rabble-rousing. Average Poles feel Poland is being bullied by the EU mainly because of Schetyna-Petru sustained snitchery (in the original -- donosy).

oined Wałęsa's chancellery

The Kaczyńskis played a key role in Wałęsa's presidential campaign. Later their relations soured but it was not until the 1992 parliamentary coup that a total rift occurred. Porozumienie Centrum was the only party with not a single ex-PZPR member of TW in their ranks. The Nocna Zmiana marked the start of the Polish-Polish war which continues to plague the country at present and most likely will drag on into the future, wasting much human energy and financial resources

that could be put to much better use.

Lech Kaczyński took part

He was present but saw what was going on -- hand washing hand, KORites and PZPR types, Michnik buddy-buddy and raising vodka toasts with the commies and that turned him off and he efffectively sat things out. You did not see him amongst the 1992 backroom conspirators!

it's been made clear to him

Not exactly, the KODists would like to make that clear to him, but Poles have a mind of their own and won't fall for any more KOD rabble-rousing. The proof is that PiS still enjoy top billing in the polls -- 37%, the same as last October's election. Again you're mistaking wishful thinking for reality!

For the same reason you tuirned a blind eye to 8 years of PO scams, oldboy cronyism, the OFE heist and other irregularities. All governments unfortunately function accoridng to set patterns, but at least PiS are in favour of the little guy, not beneficiaries of the infamous Magdalenka mafia.
