Real Estate / Banks in Poland selling fewer mortgages in 2011, down 49% [285]

We adjust our markets, and you help us in the process. If this were no longer the case, it would be a breach of promise.

Very true. Let's go for it I say, they won't send us money, we won't be their servants anymore. Tax the Tescos and all the other foreign business, which doesn't contribute anything usefull here, only transfer profits out of the country and let's concentrate on domestic business. That's much better in the long term than begger like attitude.

UK, Ireland / The Slavic Tax Thieves Stealing from the UK [29]

How does it feel to be from a nation of scrounging exiles? Globetrotter around the world, seeking benefits and success on the back of foreign peoples/

Looking at the UK you should soon get the first-hand experience. It will be quite funny to be honest...

News / The cross in Polish parliament - Does it bother you? [100]

What are your thoughts?

Obviously I'm not going to support Paligłup, however "Polish parliament" is such a pieace of crap that it doesn't deserve to have any cross hanging there, you could as well hang it in the closet...

Seriously, there's a simple solution, Cross with Jesus on it is a religious symbol and should be limited to churches and few other places, Cross without Jesus is a cultural symbol and that's it, as one would have to be a total moron to deny largly Christian roots of European culture.

The problem is that Polish politicians are not interested in solving this issue, they want it to go on, they will have countless discussions about it... It's much easier than talking about the global crisis, strategical challenges ahead of Poland and so on.

Study / The worst of Polish education. No wonder Polish universities are bottom of the list. [142]

I used to cheat occasionally and see nothing wrong in that. What would memorizing a damn large amount of text about some bacteries would have given me ? I knew back then that I would never need it, anyway I would have remembered nothing about it soon later as human brain can accommodate limited amount of memorized information, memorizing crap about viruses you forget crap about bacteries... what's the point then ? That's why instead of putting that mess into my brain, I use to put it into my pocket. The system is wrong, not the kids.

News / Polish Diaspora - many of these 20 million actually speak Polish? [79]

Could the mods perhaps explain why this poster is allowed to personally attack posters relentlessly, without suspension?

Come on, Delph and I are very happy to pay

Harry, come on... you think it's funny ? It's pathetic, get a life old man, you are polluting the public space here with this nonsense. You are not funny, you are not cool, you are pathetic. You are as "cool" as a guy farting in public.

History / Why have Poles contributed so little to Academics? (Particularly Science) [180]

However, in modern times it seems Poles are lagging behind in fields such as astronomy, biology, chemistry, and physics.

Astronomy in Poland is actually quite strong, maybe not top 3 in the world but definitely at least top 15.

The reason why Polish science doesn't have much international achievements is not really communism and especially not the war... but domestic pathologies like lack of pressure on scientists to actually make some real inventions, not just produce tonnes of useless papers... complicated procedures regarding patents, hardly any cooperation between scientists and business, hadly any venture capital etc. which all together create anti-innovation environment and when nevertheless Poles invent something, often someone else makes money on it, see blue laser for example. Once these things are fixed, we should easily make it to upper 2nd global leage within a decade as that's a natural place for Poland. More than that would be very difficult as a country is simply too small to be a super power of any kind.

News / What do PO voters expect from the new Polish government ? [32]

WielkiPolak
This is a terrible situation... If you had asked 4 years ago average PO voter what would she/he think about government rising taxes, increasing employment in administration etc. they would all have said that it's total sh*it but it happened and it's all good because It's been done by PO... now they don't want to form any expectations (or make them as unmeaserable as possible) because they know Tusk would most probably fail on that and they would look stupid still supporting him... and they would support him nevertheless as PO holding power became a success by itself... This is a terrible situation as we won't make any progress (I mean the real one, not defined as having "openly gay" guy in Sejm and similar nonsense) unless there's a pressure on government to actual make badly needed changes. It's no wonder Tusk does nothing when his voters don't expect anything, why do anything risking a failer then ?

News / Poland's 'oburzeni' (indignant)? [41]

Will this movement take off in Poland?

Rather not. I don't think it can be spinned into anti-PiS protests, It would have to be anti-government in nature and then you can forget about support of mainstream media and "elites" in general and it's very difficult to do something here without their blessing.

There is always the danger that a crackpot like Palikot will try to highjack the protests for his own poltical ends.

Palikot was designed to weaken SLD, not PO, so I don't think so... besides it's just after elections, he won't give a damn about voters for the next +3 years.

News / What do PO voters expect from the new Polish government ? [32]

I would like to hear from PO voters what in their opinion will determine success or failer of the "new" government" ? I mean facts, quantitative data regarding taxes, debt, employment, corruption, science etc. Thank you in advance.

News / Palikot or the Poles getting rid of the Polish society old Taboos in 2011? [30]

it was always there

Of course It was always here, I heard nonsense like "Church is the biggest problem of Poland" as far back as I remember but so far no one decided to make a political career based solely on such bullshites.

Greg' you for sure are a strange and not very bright creature aint you.....

Yes very bright dear mister, please kindly not forget about my racism, antisemitism and what's not.

so if this ONE person had been replaced say with ONE other person

do you think that would have solved all of Polands problems over night?

Which one person ? If instead of creaters, who were pushed into the parliament ONLY becasue they changed their gender or are "openly gay" there were people, who got it based on their business/social/academic/political activities, there at least would be some chance that they will push several things forward, now It's a failer by default.

You simply have no clue what I am talking about, It's not that for example Robert Biedroń is a successful entrepreneur, professor, doctor or anything like that, dude is a homo and all his "career" was built on his "gayness". Is that so feckin cool ?

News / Palikot or the Poles getting rid of the Polish society old Taboos in 2011? [30]

Yep, screw it that Poland is one of the most corrupted countries in Europe, that it is a few steps away from default, that high tech products are 0.1% of Polish economy, that a simple court case takes several years before it is sorted out, that and 1000 more things, which don't work right here, screw it all, what matters are "openly gay, trangendered and non-white MPs" ! Wooo hoooo !!! "Anna" will solve the problems of Polish justice system ! I'm sure "she" will prepare a fantastic reforem of education and a revolutionary solutions regarding transfer of knowledge from universities to business ! Ayeeeeeee !

Are you people all so messed up or only Poland somehow attracts such freaks ?

News / Will you be proud of tranny (transsexual) representing Poland ? [124]

Nothing against. Are you really so subhuman as to have problems with that?

Yes, I've got a problem with pushing this freak into the Parliament just to make show around it. What are "her" competence to be there ? What does "she" going to work on ?

BTW I've heard for the last years many comments about physical appearance of politicians from people with political views similar to yours, stuff like for example "short president will be a disgrace for Poland, how will he represent Poland abroad?" and so on, that's why I'm asking... will you be proud of "Anna" when "she" will be representing Poland in Russia, US or UK ?

News / Will you be proud of tranny (transsexual) representing Poland ? [124]

Poland has just got first transsexual member of the Parliament... also first in the world I heard. Members of Sejm are often traveling and representing Poland abroad. What do you think about tranny representing Poland ? Will you be proud of... her ? I am especially interested in opinions of Palikot/PO supporters. Please comment.
