Travel / About tram tickets (Poznan) [22]

So then I should create map for myself presenting all stops which are reachable within 18 stops from my chosen stop. Strange, because it's not obvious without having this custom map. For example if I want to do circle with radius of 18 stops from my central stop. It would be possible if from every stop on my way was connected with another bus to my central stop by no longer way than 18 stops. It sounds like some task from math book :)

I'm just not sure if such a ticket allows you to change to a bus or not - I think it does, provided it complies with the 18 stop limit.

But it's monthly ticket for all lines and all zones. Does it mean that after 18 stops I can continue, just have to change tram/bus? If I cannot continue, then who decides from which stop i should count 18 stops?

Travel / About tram tickets (Poznan) [22]

3 moths are little cheaper. Wat does it mean "3-months up to 18 stops, whole network" I guess that you can choose specific line and then your monthly or 3 months ticket is valid only there. But it says whole network. So who from Poznan can explain that?

And to answer your question. When you really want ticket for all lines zone A then why not Named ticket it costs 107,00 zł instead of 157,00 zł. And as a student perhaps you're allowed to pay 53,50 zł. You should read terms and conditions because some cities accept discounts for international students having card ISIC or EUR26. Except if you have Polish student's card - then you can use cheaper fare for sure.

Work / Studying and living in Poznan for 5 months. [12]

Regarding your post here:

Moreover they have allowance for every month

If you mean pocket money then it's just small percentage of all students - the poorest and the best get something only.

3. How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?

It is pretty good. As for me, it is perfect ( maybe the reason, I am Erasmus Mundus student :)) We can choose any subjects, we can skip as well :)) But it is not point, point is I have free time after my obligatory classes, so I can get extra classes which I want to learn, they are for free. Meanwhile I can attend different language classes, and practice it with native speakers, international students. That is great chance for improving my language level, widening my outlook.

I think that you didn't answer the question.

How many friends do you have? 200 ... On facebook.

Little shallow was this interview. (can you say that in English)

there is also polish one lokalo.pl. You cannot be scammed, because money goes through the system, but it's better to accept offers from people with experience ( some positive comments from previous clients ), because it may happen, that the owner will change mind in the last moment and you will end up without apartment.

Law / Setting up small business in Poland? [191]

hays.pl/prd_consump/groups/hays_common/documents/digitalasset/hays_465124.pdf

Look at tables, for example site 6. Most important words:
Stanowisko - position
Woj. Mazowieckie - Mazowieckie Voivodhip, for the full list of polish voivodships look here:
pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plik:Wojewodztwa.svg
Najczęściej oferowane - The most common salary

And name of positions you can translate with dictionary in hand. Nearly half of positions is named in English anyway.
Value in table is gross salary in PLN. Unfortunately they don't have data for woj. £ódzkie, but it should be little less than for woj. Małopolskie and woj. Dolnośląskie.

3. Internet costs (high speed with minimum 100Mbit download & 30Mbit upload (symmetrical line preferable))

mnc.pl/cennik/internet-lodz
135pln/month for 50 Mb/15 Mb (they don't cover whole city)

goldnet-int.com/strony/103/internet-dla-biznesu
they ask to call them

iwacom.net.pl/internet-lodz.php
8/Mbit/8Mbit - 500pln netto

moya.toya.net.pl/site_oferta_internet.php?s=b633cbdd2b23466d792d74da5b516d2f
60/3Mbit - 80pln

upc.pl/internet
250/20Mbit - 200pln

So it varies a lot and a lot depends on the building where you want to use it. Some places have access to more, some to less options. In worst case you will have only 8Mbit or 20Mbit ADSL

Also where can I get a PO BOX in Lodz?

Ask in some Poczta Polska office, they offer it.

Regarding setting company questions you could at least afford to consult with some professional.

Work / What type of career can you find in Poland after completing Business School in the US? [18]

As I understand he is studying for his MBA, I did not suggest he study taxes in the USA. Here is my quote

why? he's 18 years old and asks what to study. I was relating to this quote:

Artur13

Dentistry,Tax advisory.

Maybe you should advise the tax consultants/advisors at PWC/Deloitte/KPMG & E &Y, they are not professionals

what are you trying to say?

My advice Artur13, would be to follow your carer path in the states excel in your chosen profession,

but he's asking what to choose

If he worked with PWC/Deloitte/KPMG & E &Y.

Stop trying to own this thread, Monitor & give the young man some solid wisdom.

Now I got it. Admin has merged 2 threads which authors chose the same nicknames.

But the 1st one is " I earn a Masters in Business (MBA) here in America. ( I am in undergraduate right now)"
and 2nd "I am 18 years old and live in New York. I will be going to college soon"

but they're definitely not the same person. I simply ignored the 1s author topic, as he wrote it nearly an year ago. And I am relating to the topic of the 2nd author. But you do opposite.

Bad job admins, bad job.

Work / What type of career can you find in Poland after completing Business School in the US? [18]

Yes, they do earn very little compared to the States or Western Europe.

A salary in Poland should be compared to other salaries in Poland. If you compare salary of Polish doctor to American one, then why not compare average Polish salary to average American one. You will have the same conclusion that there is no point to work in Poland for much less.

Another thing to consider is that Polish medical facilities are primitive compared to their high-tech space age Western counterparts.

I think it doesn't apply to dentistry.

Also visiting my the house of my friend, who is a doctor with a lucrative in-home private practice, and seeing his table covered with chickens, eggs and various produce- payments by patients who could not afford to pay in cash.

Is that for real or you're just good storyteller?

Definitely recommend against anything related to medicine if you want to live and work in Poland.

Specialist doctors have above average salaries in Poland. But of course he can become manager :D

the OP is going to have to take a major pay cut if they want to work in Poland

If he starts career in Poland then there will not be pay cut.

Yes did you.

So why do you suggest him to study taxes in USA. That is not an international profession at all. With American diploma in dentistry is also not so simple: "The diploma will be recognized, but you will have to sit for Polish exams and have to go through "nostrifikacja", which is aggravating and time consuming. "

so your education should prepare you for management and administration.

But if you consider studying management or administration then only from top universities otherwise diploma will be worthless, as here are plenty of graduated managers who have nothing to manage.

As far as dentistry and other medical fields, forget about it if you want to work in Poland.

They don't earn so little and have opportunity to go from time to time and earn 10 times more in the west. So you may save some money by working in Scandinavia and treat work in Poland for 10 x less as a hobby. But I am not sure if your American diploma would be recognized here. Probably not.

Travel / Best way to get to Krakow Business Park? [27]

1st investigate connections advertised in e-podroznik.pl/public/searchingResultsVW.do?tseVw=regularP&startCity=Katowice&fromV=c|3701&toV=c|55156&tabToken=73e09a8e6edb521e4ef9deb54d8c2a12&endCity=Krak%C3%B3w

I know that bus companies put advertisements sometimes only on bus stops. Sometimes they offer cheaper monthly ticket, but then you must use always the same company. Some way would be to live on the way between Katowice and Kraków or at least close to bus station in Katowice (there are few).

Maybe you can find somebody commuting to this place from Katowice here: carpooling.pl/autostop/Katowice/Krak%C3%B3w.html

or by putting add in this center. Internet forum of Katowice would be a good place for asking too.

I've noticed that you're going to Zabierzów which is quite outside of Kraków, so results from e-podroznik.pl are no use and this website shows only train connections Katowice - Zabierzow... Let's hope that this railroad renovation will finish fast.

wow, google found website for finding people who want to commute to work together:

Work / What type of career can you find in Poland after completing Business School in the US? [18]

If engineering then only IT - programming. Medical sciences are also in need because of limited number of student's of this specialties, but you should investigate more. Everything else is roulette weather you will get good payed job in Poland. In Poland are IT jobs, because of demand for programmers from the west and easiness to outsource. In other specialties is quite hard to get any job where diploma is relevant, not to mention good payed one. The reason is small research and development sector comparing to the west and big number of graduates who are ready to work for any pay. In previous decade civil engineers had no problem finding job, because of construction boom in Poland, but currently there is bust and they're being fired while much more graduates is coming to market than before.

Life / New to Poland (Bydgoszcz) - cost of living there [46]

8000 PLN gross + 600 extra = 6059 net
6059 - 3000 for basic expenses = 3059
You could spend 1000zł for fun every month - it's quite a lot for Poland and you would still be able to save 2000zł as you wanted.

Write us here weather negotiations were successful.

Life / New to Poland (Bydgoszcz) - cost of living there [46]

I exaggerated with rich :) but to have fun you should at least earn average salary and rent nothing bigger than studio. Anything more: family to pay for, bigger apartment, smaller than average salary and you either cannot save or you should put away fun in case of restaurant etc.

Life / New to Poland (Bydgoszcz) - cost of living there [46]

Look above, I edited my post - you will have 500 pln more. Beer prices in pubs starts from 5-6 pln so it's not a big expense. In Poland only rich (or those who don't want to save money or have their own house) go to restaurants. And because your wife wouldn't have salary then you cannot be called rich (although your salary is above average) And as for traveling around the country there are relatively cheap buses. But you can see that it's either fun or saving.

And it's possible to rent studio apartment for 1000pln and then you will have disposable 2165pln

Life / New to Poland (Bydgoszcz) - cost of living there [46]

I am not sure how net of this 600 is calculated, but if it's simply 6000 + 600 -> net. Then you will have 4665,58 net. If you cook at home polish food (imported more expensive) then 1000pln for food should be enough. Some small apartment with utilities fees in Bydgoszcz should be around 2000. Some tickets and other expenses 500pln.

4665 - 3500 = 1165.
So either you will have to save on quality food or rent smaller apartment or you will not save 2000pln with this salary.

Hmm, actually you can pay closer to 1500 for apartment, because they're cheaper in Bydgoszcz than in other big cities.

Law / I have recently been scammed in Poland. My company accounts frozen. [58]

I've checked online some forums and that's true. They write that it's enough to send payment notice twice with registered mail (polecony) to the address of contractor. And if he doesn't pick them up from the post office then it's "effectively delivered".

It's crazy because everybody can see that there is way for abuse.
