You don't understand construction. 2X4's and plywood is used in the States for insulation properties and ease of construction. Also wood breathes. Masonry (brick or cinder block) doesn't breath and doesn't insulate.

HAHA I understand it well. I'm not talking about that, a brick or cinder block home will last much longer than a match house, don't you think? and god forbid a fire or flood(burn or rot) or a tornado, plus in these hot American summer which one would stay cooler?

Yes thank you profesor, I just gave a few example there are thousands of words that are the same or similar in Polish and Russian. Not all are same in Slavic languages like samolot which is same in Polish and Russian, in Czech is different, letadlo.

But still when I watch ORT I can't understand anything... ;)

When I first started hanging out with my Russian friends i didn't understand much, you gotta sort of get past the accent, get into it, think of yourself speaking with that accent and how Polish words would sound with it, it should help you understand once you do that you'll realize that Russian is similar.

I find most houses in Poland are just badly layed out. Also the concept of having a living room (one that you don't sleep in) and a dining room are almost unheard of.

You're just talking out your a** now, who doesn't have a dining room and living room and who sleeps in them, maybe in an apartment in a tower block not in a "house".

Well made?

a brick or cinder block house, with tile or metal roofing is well made unless the builder f'ed it up. Compare to American wood framing, vinyl siding, and shingle roofing it's 5x better. Building products are so expensive here only rich can build a house like that.

No sh*t what'd you think Poles live in clay huts? Many people in the country have large well made houses, most were build after 1980, only really poor people got those one level 2 bedroom houses.

A ‘Polish Pride March’ is to be organized in the Silesian city of Katowice on 22 January to protest against Silesia becoming what the protestors say is becoming “anti-Polish”.

Thankfully most Silesians today see themselves as Poles and don't support no autonomy.
