History / The beginning of the Polish state [11]

I'm not a historian but I've read a few times that the stories about the Polans, Vistulans etc. seen to have been invented by 19th c historians who cared more about strenghtening the sense of national identity than about historical truth.

I don't think so, stuff about Krak, Popiel etc. are tales but what was going on in 10th century is quite clear (of course general trends, not details) there are some controversies about names of tribes but not that such tribes existed.

News / Who controls Gazeta Wyborcza?? [216]

No-one said anything about Catholicism, and the links that Polonius provided made it clear that the two people in question were Polish.

So it's all for making Polo say openly that Jewish= not-Polish and then you will call him anti-semitic, run to admin, push the button etc. ? Don't you have a life ?

Ah, the usual get-out clause.

Tell you what - if you could even provide a published source, that would be a start.

You mean you need "a source" to understand that guys like Adam Michnik or Seweryn Blumsztajn are not of Polish/Catholic background ?

We're asking for a single reliable source

You won't get that from a mainstream source as that would be "anti-semitic" of course.

Edit: but that's not any secret knowledge, you can read that in official bio's of these people.

It is strange that someone living thousands of miles away claims to know something that Poles don't know about.

Which claims are you talking about ? That many people in charge of GW are of commie-jewish background ?

News / Amber Gold and other Poland's suspicious institutions [139]

pity that the likes of Kaczynski got such a bad rap for wanting to go after people like this.....

Well, so much for "democracy" in Poland. Those willing to do something are ridiculed and thus "neutralized". Amber Gold is a small potato in comparision with various "deals" in health care, infrastructure contracts or "privatization" process. Tens of billions are stolen annually.

Major sin according to Kaczyński!

Explain please.

Dziennik Gazeta Prawna and Rzeczpospolita are by far the best Polish daily newspapers.

Fascinating. So you think that 70% of Poles agree with Żakowski claiming that the more pederasts, the richer country is ? You have no feckin clue about this country. Overwhelming majority of PO, PSL and at least half of SLD voters are far to the right from your homo-marxist garbage. Look, your boyfriend and his butt buddies are really not a typical person living here.

News / 1.3% birth rate = Poland's slow death [221]

Nevertheless, despite the backwards habits prevalent in Polska B

Which areas are Poland B ?

I live in what, unfortunately, is called Poland B, and I simply do not see the same backward rural hopelessness that you seem to.

The funniest thing is that the same people use to accuse their opponents of "dividing the society".

Hmmm...which 90%? If 70% votes against the Smolenkists?

What's more can i do for this hopeless case ? Only copy and paste my previous comment...

If in your opinion, anyone who is not voting PiS, is supporting your homo-marxist agenda, then you are out of touch with reality... to put it very mildly.

I can guarantee you that +90% of Polish people would say that you are a feckin mistake of evolution after reading a few of your posts. If in your opinion, anyone who is not voting PiS, is supporting your homo-marxist agenda, then you are out of touch with reality... to put it very mildly.

The was also free education, free healthcare and a chance to get on in life without capital. It was at least as much Poland then as it is now.

Finally. The coming out of a commie.

Is that the reason why 70% of the country in elections votes AGAINST the Radio Rydzyk nutcases?

No, feckin c***n, that is the reason why +90% of the country laugh at Żakowski claiming that the more pederasts, the richer country is.

Read the economics pages - it is solidly conservative.

No, it's rather centrist... but as I said several times, there's a big difference between "technical" content of GW and their editorial garbage.

By the way, who actually owns Gazeta Polska?

No idea to be honest. You should now as you mention this newspaper in about half of your posts.

News / Kaczyński presents alternative to PO thievery [26]

On Sunday, PiS chief Jarosław Kaczyński launched a poltical project intended as an alternative to the present Tusk regime.

Populistic nonsense to attract votes of plebs... good thing is that in case of victory he will quickly forget about it, just like he did in 2005-2007.

But isn't the point to raise eyebrows?

For a newspaper with clear, far from the center agenda yes, for mainstream media it shouldn't be, at least not in the way of promoting extreme opinions. GW (editorial section -> stuff written by Michnik, Żakowski, Blumszatjn etc) is clearly pushing an extreme agenda, which is not in line with what majority of Poles think. Of course it is (after all) still a relatively free country, they have right to do that but then they are basically a lefty version of Gazeta Polska or Nasz Dziennik -> fortunately it's quite clear now, as i said the situation was very problematic in 90's when GW managed to position itself as a kind of national newspaper and thus had a very serious influence on public opinion.

(by the way : what are inheritance tax rates in Poland?)

It's quite complicated, I think it's between 0 and 18% -> depends on If/how close related the persons were.

Gazeta Wyborcza is an essentially conservative newspaper

And you expect to be treated seriously here :)) ?

That's pretty much my opinion too. It's not perfect, but they on the whole, it's not a bad paper. And they don't have a total obsession with rival newspapers.

Their economic or sport sections are quite professional, editorial section is a totally different matter and some things written by Michnik or Żakowski really raise eyebrows of any non-Palikotist reader. And they definately do have obsession with their rivals.

For example, Żakowski once said that abolition of inheritance tax would be a straight way back to feudalism.

Compared to Michnik, who spent 7 years in communist prisons for his opposition activity since mid 1960s, Ziemkieiwcz is nobody.

That perfectly shows "logic" people sharing your political views are following :))

I see no sense in wasting time on Michnik-Szechter and his clique. Michnik was very dangerous in 90's, when he had serious influence on Polish public opinion. But since quite a few years his far-left agenda has been clear. Recently, he's becoming truly insane, for example he sued Ziemkiewicz for saying that "Michnik, instead of holding debates with his opponents, is terrorizing them with filing charges in court" :)))

History / Czech and Polish character in World War two [81]

So you are saying, that one of the main architects of so called Munich agreement, where they sacrificed their ally, got angry and didn't help Poland in 39, because Poland, after the result of Munich were known, decided to pressure the same country basically ruined by them, to give back a small disputed area populated mainly by Polish people ? I'm afraid that's not logical.

History / Czech and Polish character in World War two [81]

Polish-Czech interwar conflict was a stupid tit for that. That's generally how it is seen now in Poland and I think Czech perspective is not much different. The funniest thing are english clowns using Zaolzie conflict to smear Poles with ****, as "allied with nazis", "cooperated with nazis", "joined nazi invasion" etc. And the same "fierce defenders of Czechs" jump on the same Czechs when they say the obvious truth that they were fec.ed up by Britiain in 1938 :)))

But Poland should be more wise than it was in 1938=1939

Sure but both side were unwise. We should learn from past mistakes. If **** hit the fan again, French, English and all will not give a damn as usual. EU and NATO is falling down, we should create a regional alliance and forget about relaying on either "west" or "east".

The Polish government didn't impose a collective guilt on the Germans that were expelled unlike the Czechoslovakian government did with Sudeten Germans.

Did it have any practical meaning ?

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

I agree that Poland should create some sensible immigration policy (take in some people but not too many and properly sorted out) but first of all this country should be fixed, so people stop running away (and at least some come back) and can afford more than one children. Without that, nothing will help.
