I think the Polish Catholic Church really should do it. But the problem is that the Church in Poland doesn't want to accept anyone else as deity except Jesus Christ. They don't want any serious "competition" from Svetovid since they fear the clergy could loose some of their priviliges.
Tell me, how does the Orthodox Church respect Svetovid in your country?

It has always been a neutral word in Polish and I find it bizzare why certain people want to make everyone believe the word is "racist".
The two leading clowns of the PF, jon357 and (the late?) Harry, always insisted the word was racist even if their knowledge of Polish was very far from being good.

Reports say that these defenders of traditional Christian values in Poland have attacked the police protecting the march in the vicinity of the Cathedral. Also, groups consisting of several rightards attacked individual persons by chasing and beating them.
Police detained 20 persons and the Internal Affairs Minister, Elżbieta Witek said they all would be punished. Adrian Zandberg of the RAZEM party said the minister at first behaved as if nothing happened!

This is true, but mind your itinerary, please. The mentioned ZTM tickets are valid to Opacz (ticket valid in zone 1) only or Pruszków WKD (valid in zone 2) on the WKD line.
WKD trains run beyond Pruszków - either to Milanówek or Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

The Pałac Kultury in Warsaw wasn't originally intended to be so tall. Russian architect Lew Rudniev wanted the Palace not to exceed the height of 120 m at the most (today, it is the height of the main tower), but the Polish comrades who accompanied Lew Rudniev and his group observing the baloon setting its proposed height wanted it to go higher and higher.
The architecture of the Pałac Kultury was motivated by Polish historical architecture and American art deco high-rise buildings, which buildings in turn motivated the architecture of the Moscow "Seven Sisters" tall buildings on which Mr. Rudniev looked upon. Life / Why are Poles in other countries called "Plastic Poles"? [168]
In Poland, such a term has been unheard of. It seem to be a purely American (Aglo-Saxon) "invention" and I am more than surprised that it is known in Russia as well.
Did anyone heard of the term "wasserpolacken" or "wasserpolen"? The term started to be applied by the Prussians to the Polish autochtonous population of Lower Silesia, including those working as raftsmen or in fishery (hence the suffix "wasser"), after the annexation of Silesia in 1741. In 1852, a German journalist used this term in reference to Polish peasants from the nearby villages who were bringing planks, coal and grain to market places in Breslau.

That is probably the biggest mistake people do when trying to speak in a foreign language. Never ever try to translate from your native language when speaking. One should conceive utterances directly in the foreign language without any help from the mother tongue.
For example, when speaking or writing in English, I myself forget about my Polish completely. Of course, I do make mistakes, but thinking in Polish first, then translating into English would have brought even more mistakes on me. The mistakes I make may arise from improper usage or shortages in vocabulary (or grammar) or whatever, but resorting to Polish would not help.
It is a matter of training to use the language correctly. The best training is, of course, being immersed in a foreign environment. But even without that, you should constantly train yourself in thinking in a foreign language with as little or no help from your mother tongue as possible. This goal is achievable as my own case proves, the case of a man who has been living for many many years immersed in a non-English language speaking environment and having almost none oral contact with English

Does anyone remember a certain Zbigniew Brzeziński? Of all Pol-Ams, he has held the most prominent position in the US Administration so far. His Polish was perfect, the language of a true intellectual, with only a slight trace of an American accent.

Language / Myśląc "Polska" - Does new PiS motto.... really mean anything? [20]
It may sound weird (in translation) to the Germanic ear, but in Polish it is not. The prototype for the motto might be the title of Kartol Wojtyła's narrative poem: "Myśląc Ojczyzna" published, work published in 1974.
They've been already paraphrasing the motto into: "Myśląc władza".

That's exactly what it is supposed to mean. The rest (or the beginning) of the motto is implicit. The full sentence is going to look, for example, like this:
- Myśląc "Polska", będziemy troszczyć się o najbiedniejszych.
- Wszystkie nasze zamierzenia podejmujemy myśląc "Polska" [podejmujemy z myślą o Polsce]. etc., etc. ...
The aim is to convince the voter that PiS while doing things thinks about Poland first of all and all the time. Of course, inverted commas are ommited from the motto which in its very precise literary form should look like this:
Myśląc "Polska", ...

Tbh, I don't see any possibility for an EU army to become a reliable force. I even can't imagine any army based on a concept worked out by Brussels bureaucrats.
I do believe such an army would have been smashed by the military forces serving Vladimir Vladimirovitch Putin's cause in a few seconds and the Eurps in Brussels would then have to beg Mr. Putin to spare them and their fatty remunerations. The act would be seen by future generations as "licking Putin's boots by Western Eurps".
But Germany and France have rather sane political elites ...

The Fourth Reich isn't even in one-twentieth as strong as the US. The anti-American phobia of the Western Eurps would vanish only seconds after Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovitch Putin would seriously like to threaten Germany or France. They would certainly run crying to Mr. Trump for help in the same way as certain members of the PolishForums run crying to the mods when they feel threatened on the forum.
That is in fact the harsh reality of Poland allegedly "licking American boots".

Language / Looking for meaning of a phrase ("Yatz Gatz Spetagamie") [47]
Despite hearing various stories from the war told to me by the relatives, I have avoided associating German with the Hitler occupation of Poland. Basically, I find the German language neutral on the emotional level and I find it quite pleasant as a language to learn. I also find the language intriguing because - I am told - a substantial part of its vocabulary dates back to the pre-Indoeuropean period, thus retaining the 'old European' substrate.
I know of a case when a German soldier warned the inhabitants of a small Mazovian town (or better say, a bigger village) on the eastern side of the Vistula river in the summer of 1944 that the town would be burnt to the ground the following day ("miasteczko będzie palone" - was the exact phrase remembered by my grand father). The warning had been delivered to a clockmaker of the town who could speak German.
