Everyone just needs to lighten up with the hypersensitivity and PC. There is no racism or any other ism in humor. There is no reason someone must be of a particular nationality/ ethnicity/ race in order to tell a silly joke. That is nothing more than PC. And dictating who can and who cannot tell a joked based on the teller’s nationality/ etc is the real racism/ otherism.

Don’t let PC Lib hypocrites ruin everything.

Over here the Racial Double Standard is firmly in place even in the realm of comedy. Blacks are free to spout any funny or offensive thing they want to about blacks or whites (many of their comedy routines depend almost solely on racial jokes) while whites must be much more careful because they are held to a different standard as to what is permissible.

Or maybe you should just gently correct them. How would you feel as a visiting Pole if Americans treated you this way over minor ignorance?

It is my understanding that the Polish jokes originated during/after WWII when returning American GIs told stories of perceived Polish cowardice in the war. This is also when the notion of French cowardice became ingrained in the public psyche.

I have heard of this before, that some older generation ethnic immigrants intentionally did this so their children would assimilate rather than cling to their old culture.

Nowadays it seems it is trendy to sh!t all over the culture of where they arrive and demand special accommodation. I’m not saying the Polish are like this by many others are.

The Aims of the school were probably written for an application of charity status or to get grants or something.

I am sure the aims of the school are good. Even if they have been coerced by the grants standards enforced. Money influences everything, often not for the better.

I am not some intolerant jerk. I am just against telling kids what to think. Teach them facts and let them figure out on their own how and what to think about it. Of course those facts would include that the world is a better place if everyone shows tolerance and acceptance of others so everyone can get along -but don’t coerce it.

While at the same time there are very good examples across societies that have struggled greatly under all this engineered “rich diversity”. So it is not settled science by any means. Maybe those taught facts should include this information? But I am doubting the grant underwriters would approve of kids being taught such facts.

You make a good point about willful indoctrination, Seanus. But there is great difference between willful and unwitting. The latter seems almost criminal to me. It’s just not right, even if the intent is good.
