News / WHY DOES POLAND BUY GAS FROM RUSSIA? [105]

I live in Canada and wonder why Poland get their gas imports from Russia- their biggest enemy since, oh I dunno, the beginning of time! I remember a couple of years ago the Ruski's turned off the supply for a while (which affected Germany too). What is Poland doing to diversify it's supply?

where else could poland get gas? russia has it and none else in europe does..

Life / Wearing "strange" things for poles and consequences, is it true? [44]

What exactly am I risking? some facts not just what people heard from friends.

i just don't understand the big deal about earrings anyway.

you're possibley risking all the things mentioned or more.. who knows.. all i'm saying is play it safe if you are concerned..

personally, i don't give a sh.t but many poles are very homophobic.. so just be aware, eh?

good luck dude.

Food / Cheesecake sernik for Polish Easter? [14]

Tapioca is much better :)

yuk. :X

It's not exclusive to Easter.

not exclusive and to me has never been inclusive of easter (4 me).. pączki, yes.. other stuff, yes.. sernik.. no.

Sorry mate but that's one dodgy sernik right there.. proper sernik doesn't have this kasza manna thingie..

exactly.. and as i said somewhere in the last couple of days, polonius doesn't show to be of sound mind, at times.

Food / Cheesecake sernik for Polish Easter? [14]

is a special type of processed wheat if I am not mistaken. It is used exclusively in pasta making process, but I cannot really see it being used in sernik.

polonius doesn't always make sense.. i agree. :D

sernik is not an easter thing.. x-mas, sure.

kaszka manna

no and it would be kasza not kaszka.

Food / Cabbage In Tomato Sauce (Polish dish) - bigos? [4]

when serving fresh chopped dill is welcome.

you know i love my dill but this doesn't sound like a place for this herb at all.. some people just way over do it. this is definitely an instance of that. no dill with cabbage especially if there are greasy meats involved.

Food / Herb used in Polish rosol (chicken soup)? [88]

krysia is right though, pietruszka is definitely used on potatoes too. maybe not as popular as koperek but it's used by some sometimes.

Food / Herb used in Polish rosol (chicken soup)? [88]

but add a kilo of beef,

how is that make rosół? rosół = chicken soup.. no beef

(some people call it cellar's leaf ;-)

not the same tho as lovage

try Kostka Rosołowa

why?? if you use a hen already, there is no point in using bullion.
