The Foundation of Polish-German Co-operation (Fundacja Współpracy Polsko-Niemieckiej
FWPN/Die Stiftung für deutsch-polnische Zusammenarbeit SdpZ) has started the interactive
Polish-German map. The newest internet project of the foundation gathers about 200 most
important cultural, scientific and political organisations in Poland and Germany.
It presents the actions of organisations working on the German-Polish co-operation.
You can search by choosing country and entering a name into the browser or by clicking
on one of the graphical symbols of main categories: science, education/meetings, culture,
media, institutional co-operation.

The battle with the Mongols, Vienna, WW1 the Russian front, Saxons kings, German settlers in Poland, Polish settlers in Germany, the modern Germany after the Berlin wall and ofc BB

(forgot to mention the important laws that were in Poland for a long time, also German architecture and so on but that could count as with German settlers)

:)

Actually, I think making a movie about Auschwitz and the polish people would be a great movie. To be frank, I did not know anyone but jews died at Auschwitz. When I found out many of my Poilsh ancestors also died at Auschwitz I felt like I had been cheated out of important information. I also did not know that Moscow had ever been captured. I think there is a real need for people to be more aware of Poland and its history. Many Americans have no clue. I also did not know that Jews could not own land for a long time and had to be Catholic in order to own land in some places. There is a big need for Americans to understand the role of Poland and their Polish ancestors. I would love to edit a book someone is writing.......I am an editor.....

Don't be fools! Teaching the American public? Who would even show such a movie there?
Remember the Katyn movie was only viewed about 40 000 times in America, most Americans hadn't even heard of it when it was nominated for best Foreign.

The directors of it would probably be faced off with being labeled "Holocaust Deniers".

Actually, I think making a movie about Auschwitz and the polish people would be a great movie.

You would be surprised how much Polish suffering as well as the many positive things Polish people have done that has been surpressed by left-wing and right wing historians, not to mention the mass media.

The fact that Poland was basically a slave of other countries from 1939-1990 as well as from 1795-1917, much of Polish history has been distorted or surpressed (if it was positive about Poland).

A perfect example of how Poland's enemies were able to define Poles is the infamous big lie about "Polish horses attacking Nazi German tanks". A BIG LIE if there ever was one that took on a life of its own. But is was difficult for Poland to defend itself against this big lie (meant to defame Poland) and other big lies, because Poland's institutions were destroyed and held down by those countries occupying Poland from 1939-1990. So that big lie and so many others about Poland were repeated and repeated and repeated and repeated WITHOUT Poland being able to defend itself against them.

The Soviet Union naturally wanted the world to think negative things about Poland from 1945-1990 so that there was little world sympathy about Soviet occupation and suppression of Poland.

There ARE other polish-german topics out there then presenting poor, opressed, sniffing Poland, you know....*rolls eyes*

If you don't change your attitude people around the world will never learn about the other, funny, interesting, cool Poland, but will forever think of war, dead people and concentration camps when they hear of your country.. I promise you that.

There is, as I think any country has anything positive with an other country and it's negative, it all depends on what you focus on.

(Especially me!) prost

*is looking for some Ringnes for BB as he knows BB loves beer*

Now a Vienna blockbuster would be cool...
