History / Israeli wants to wipe Poland off the map! [198]

true. Look what happened with Serbian southern province of Kosovo, where Albos came as illegals and then taken whole region for themselves.

But in the case of the Zionist entity in Palestine it was the Zionists who came and took the whole for themselves. Those who understand the situation there look forward to the Arabs getting their land back whether it be by babies or by bullets.

Life / Polish patriotism, what does it mean to you? [46]

Compering to other countries in PL was far more nobles.

This is true. Of all the countries in Europe it was Poland and Hungary that had the highest percentages of nobility in their populations.

History / Jan Potocki On Ancient Slavic History. [6]

Count Jan Potocki (1761-1815-) scion of one of Poland’s most prominent families and celebrated author of The Manuscript Found In Saragossa also authored an exegesis on Herodotus’ Scythian book titled Histoire Primitive des Peuples de la Russie avec une Exposition complete de Toutes les Nations, locales, nationales et traditionelles, necessaires a l'intelligence du quatrieme livre d'Herodote. This book has not been translated into English, but given its subject matter and its author’s reputation I am hopeful that it is known in Poland. If anyone here on the forum has read it would you be so kind as to relate some of Potocki’s conclusions contained therein?

News / Poland liberalizes drug laws in effort to focus on treatment [35]

Inhalation of hemp smoke is a part of Poland's ancient cultural heritage. "....it burns like incense and produces a vapour so thick that no vapour bath in Hellas would surpass it: and the Scythians being delighted with the vapour-bath howl like wolves." (Herodotus, The Histories: Book IV Chapter 75) Legalize it like the full moon in the night sky. Howooooooooooool!

News / MORE ANTI-POLISH SENTIMENT IN GERMANY [280]

Great, when are you coming to Poland to volunteer in our hospitals, schools, churches and more?

Why aren't you answering my questions regarding your racial theory?

Indeed I am not a fan of this racist who calls Polish-Americans subhumans and by asking about the particulars of his dehumanizing theory I hoped to ridicule it. I thought this was obvious.

Dude are you seriously mental!?!??

I am asking Delphiandomine about his racial theory not endorsing it.

I don't think there is a more racist ass on this forum than you. You've got an obsession with Poles and Poles in America in particular what is it you weren't passed on the visa voucher.

I am a third generation Polish-American and this is a Polish discussion forum and as for "racist asses" your xenophobic assumption regarding visa vouchers puts you in their ranks not me. Learn to comprehend what you read before you make asinine accusations.

News / MORE ANTI-POLISH SENTIMENT IN GERMANY [280]

So if one sausage vendor in Baltimore uses an offensive ethnic slur in his business name then it makes the term non-racist......

Polacks are of uncertain Slavic origin, who emigrated to the USA around 1900 or so - usually you can tell a real Polack by the fact that they're from peasant origin from around the Polish/Ukrainian borderland.

Real Polish people

they're among the most self depreciating people I know.

Please elaborate on this racial theory. What is it about Ruthenian peasant blood that makes Polish-Americans inferior yet self assertive? Did anscestral strumming of the balalaika harm Polish-American genetics? How much pure Polish blood do we need to have to warrant being designated by a term that is not universally considered an ethnic slur? Are there Polackatos, Polacktroons, etc?

America saved Europe from Nazi domination and then paid to have its Western part rebuilt. Polonia hating trolls should leave this Polish discussion forum.

Life / Where's the Polish clipart? [8]

Sweden's landmass is larger, yet Poland has 4 times as many people as Sweden, but lack of "clipart" is hardly something to bemoan. If Poland lacks some superfluous internet effluvia so be it.

USA, Canada / Where is loyalty of Polish diaspora in America? In USA or in Poland? What is priority? [63]

I am a Polish-American and I feel loyalty to my family and my friends. I am loyal to the idea of America as a republic with liberty and justice for all, but most of the policies, both foreign and domestic, that the government of America has had, since I've been aware of such things, do not merit my loyalty. As for Poland its history interests me greatly and I am loyal to the idea of Poland as an anarchistic place where people do as they please. I am loyal to the idea of the Liberum Veto. If Poland were to go to war and it asked for Polonia's help I would judge the merits of its request and act accordingly. I do not believe in serving "my country right or wrong" regardless of whether it is my current or my ancestral homeland.

UK, Ireland / Oxford Polish bride 'heartbroken' over arrest - accusations of sham marriage [126]

The United Kingdom has messed up so many places in the world because of its imperialism that it is nice to see people screwing it up with such scams, but they will never have as much negative impact as all the stupid partitions that the British imposed when they decided to leave their colonial holdings. John Bull is a dirty barnyard animal and no Slav should feel anything but superiority to him.

Ah so then even poor undeveloped countries like Vietnam and Cuba would have been 2nd world during the latter decades of the USSR.

News / Poland - Third World Country?? [300]

These terms refer to both the level of industrialization and the form of government of a specific country. 1st world is industrialized with capitalist democracy. 2nd world is industrialized with communist dictatorship. 3rd world is lacking significant industrialization regardless of their forms of government. These terms are rather obsolete after the fall of communism in Eastern Europe because it disqualified all of the 2nd world countries.

USSR was not as well off as USA, Canada or western Europe, but seemed to be better off than Vietnam or Mexico.

This observation by El Polaco is an exact example of how these terms used to apply. USSR = 2nd world; USA, Canada, and Western Europe = 1st world; Mexico and Viet Nam = 3rd world.

News / POLES FEEL LIKE JEWS HAVE TOO MUCH CONTROL IN POLAND - TRUE? [209]

In the US, I want to see the Jewish swindlers from Wall Street prosecuted, and all the non-Jewish Zionist shills in Congress removed...I want to see an end to all foreign aid to Israel for a period...It won't happen.

If we had campaign finance reform in the USA it could happen, but with the recent "Citizens United" Supreme Court decision we are even further away from ever having such reform.

Language / Polish word "Dom" and its similarities in different languages [46]

Latin, Greek, and Polish are all Indo-European languages and as such they all have a common origin which is known as Proto-Indo-European. Linguists and philologists have been working on the reconstruction of PIE since the late 18th century when an Englishman, nicknamed "Oriental" Jones, working for the East India country got a Brahmin to teach him Sanskrit and Jones, knowing classical Latin and classical Greek already, realized that Sanskrit's similarities to these ancient European languages were too numerous to be mere coincidence. Now when linguists reconstruct words from PIE they put an asterisk before them. Where the Proto-Indo-Europeans lived is a matter of much contention with the two leading candidates being the Pontic Steppe and Anatolia. Turks live in Anatolia now but they came there from the East and Turkish is from a language family that originated further East than PIE making the chances of "Dom" having a Turkic origin extremely slim.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

Kowalski

But the most famous bearer of this surname in American entertainment is one Stanley Kowalski from Tennessee Williams' play A Streetcar Named Desire and he is a brute.

News / POLES FEEL LIKE JEWS HAVE TOO MUCH CONTROL IN POLAND - TRUE? [209]

I'm sure you know that there are Jews whose religion is not Judaism. So, what is your point again ?

It is true that there are atheist Jews that still consider themselves Jewish but do their rabbis still consider them so? Jews have always allowed for conversion too, and so what about the case of a Gentile that converts to Judaism and then later rejects its religious tenets, would that person still be a Jew? Is there a double standard that allows people born into Judaism to reject it as a religion and still remain Jews but not converts? Is say a Turk who converted to Judaism now a member of two nations, both Turkish and Jewish, or just one of the two, and if only one then which one? I honestly don't know the answer to these questions.
