Life / Could Poland become an immigrant country? [42]

LOL Most of the commentators on this post has no idea how economy works :)
Poland will never become an Immigrant country with current policies and politicians(old minded, communist era politicians).
1. Most of the Poles are leaving this country for better life in other countries (I know 1 polish girl who went to Africa for job).
2. Immigrants are not stupid. They choose a country where their children will have a good life and future. and here there is no future even for polish children.

3. Almost non existent welfare, unemployment benefit, housing, social assistant.
5. LOW WAGES even comparable to some third world countries.

The sad part is that it's not good for Poland. Poland is doing suicide, young people are leaving, women are not bringing new children, population is aging.

There is not even 1 theme/amusement park in whole Poland? The reason?

Nowadays even poorest countries have 1 or 2 in each city.

Life / Poland no Unemployment benefits after paying taxes for 20 years [41]

His £120,000-a-year salary with an international pharmaceutical company in the capital Warsaw meant he could live very well.
After 20 years of working, paying taxes and National Insurance, he lost his job at the age of 59.
However, when Joe turned up at the employment office to register, he was in for a shock.

This shows how the Poland's welfare & social benefit system (ZUS) is a failed system and that's why young Poles are leaving this disastrous country and system leaving behind an aging population.

Work / urgent help with umowa - my boss wants to cancel the contract before 1 month notice period expires [7]

Hello folks,

I need urgent help from you guys please...

I have 1 year contract (umowa o prace) with the company i am working and it is mentioned in the contract that we have to inform each other 1 month in advance before leaving the job.

Now the situation is that yesterday i had some argument with my boss and she told me that she wants to cancel the contract and pay me for this month(july) only.

My question is...if she wants to cancel the contract at the end of this month (july), is she obligid to pay for the next month (August) too? because she is canceling the contract without any advance notification?

Thank you very much!

Law / Unable to get a work permit for Poland (not EU-citizen) [40]

If you care so much about Poland and her, why not marry? That means you are not serious and just use her for s*x or something. Poland is doing better than your poor country that is why you came looking for job here. Don't like it, GET OUT!!!

He said he already left Poland, that means Poland is not doing better even then his poor country :(
Those 5-7 zloty per hour jobs are available in all poor countries...your country is not an exception.

Life / Immigration in Poland and being surrounded by a monoculture? [134]

SINCE I PERSONALLY KNOW SOME IMMIGRANTS HERE, THINK I CAN HELP YOU GUYS ON THIS TOPIC.

For Immigrants Poland is a jail where they stuck so badly that last week one of my fine friend deported himself back to his home country.

Why they are here?

They try to enter the Poland illegally to move to western countries but unfortunately some of them get caught and once their fingerprints are stored into EURODAC then it is game over for them. They have to wait here for Poland to take decisions about them and it could easily take 2-3 years (In other EU countries it takes 6-9 months).

Meanwhile they can't move to other EU countries too because their fingerprints are matched with EURODAC database and they can easily find that Poland was his first country of asylum so Poland is responsible for his application and they are sent back to Poland.

For More Information On Dublin Regulation And EURODAC Click Here:
europa.eu/legislation_summaries/justice_freedom_security/free_movement_of_persons_asylum_immigration/l33153_en.htm

How much financial benefit do they get?

70zl per month.
In neighboring Germany it is 360 euro per month. (This may answer some of your questions why the Poland will even never be close to become an immigrant country).

Where are they from?

90% of the immigrants in Poland are Chechens. other 5% are georgians. and the remainings are students who for some purposes want EU documents.

If you have any question regarding Immigrants feel free to ask me.

Life / Could Poland become an immigrant country? [42]

Considering aging population and mass emigration (specially younger generation), like other EU countries in the near future Poland will also have to change their policies and welcome immigrants.

UK, Ireland / Benefit cuts for Poles in The UK? [143]

Merged: UK to curb migrant benefits for European Welfare Seekers

25 March 2013 Last updated at 19:17 GMT:

David Cameron

Europeans will have to prove they are "genuinely seeking employment" to claim UK jobless benefits for more than six months, David Cameron has said.

The prime minister said it was among measures to ensure people came to the UK "for the right reasons" after it became a "soft touch" under Labour.

Migrants from the European Economic Area - the EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway - currently have to show they have a "reasonable chance" of finding a job to receive unemployment benefit for more than six months.

Downing Street said they would now face a more rigorous test to assess whether they had a "realistic prospect" of getting a job, with the ability to speak English one of the criteria.

Work / No English Speaking Jobs in Poland...At All? [34]

It is almost impossible to find good paying English speaking jobs here in Poland. I tried 1 year but couldn't find one.

There are jobs that requires english language but they pay extremely low, 1000-1500 zloty for teachers and 2000-2500 zloty for call center jobs and most the people working in these jobs are Poles.

The unemployment rate in Spain for University grads is 70%, so Poland does not seem to be that bad really

They are fighting it, not running out of their countries, But Poles are not.
And Spain is facing it only last few years, But in Poland this problem is since one can remember.

So how can you compare Spain to Poland?

News / Poland Unemployment: Nobody protests, because people are leaving [30]

The unemployment rate for young educated Polish people will hit 30% this year.
At the time when Arabs are uprising despite danger, Belorussians are protesting despite under dictatorship and last month Bulgarian protesters toppled their government.
But Poland remains one of the quietest countries in the region. Nobody protests, because people are leaving.

Life / The two sides of the Poles: friendly and honest / saying behind ones back [15]

I have found that when I didn't speak Polish I had the typical tourist view of Polish people

OMG i thought i was the only one with this experience lol

I used to work in a reputable company where most of the guys were looking very gentlemen and professional but they were talking behind me all the time without getting tired, it was like if you suddenly start a life among tribes of Amazon jungle o.O
