Classifieds / Looking for help identifying Polish vintage items [2]

I remember having posted pictures here before but they have to be pretty small (no more than 100 kbytes if I recall correctly) - but I have no idea if you need to be a registered member to do it (a registered member for a long time here)

you can post links to the images/pages you want help with

Life / What do decent Poles think about true rightists ? [148]

(the same way large corporations don't mind most regulations - they help keep newcomers from entering the market)

you have nailed it and pinpointed it - the current political elites impose regulations that restrict competition and also don't regulate the necessary regulation which leads to financial crises - for the financial elites it's a win-win situation

Polonia / Don't Poles know they don't get welfare when going Germany to look for work? [22]

Maybe someone from Poland could explain why Poland didn't subscribe to that treaty?

my guess is not that Poland didn't subscribe to the treaty but rather was not allowed to join - in 2004 when Poland joined the EU unemployment here was almost 20 per cent - if the rules of the said treaty would be applied to Poles droves of us would just swiftly move beyond the Oder

Turkey is the most civilised muslim country in the world if you ask me - we have a glimpse into Turkish culture now that Turkish TV shows (in Polish called ''seriale") are the staple of TVP

News / Polish Independence Day March in Warsaw. Is it going to be the biggest march yet? [1530]

again we have no leverage on Russia - there is no point of stoking any kind of emotions against Russia - and the actions of the government speak louder than some conspiracy theories - PiS do have an interest of disenfranchising PO by showing their German allies act against Polish interests - also German media including the state owned television channel show the current governmet in disparaging light - noone asks them if they should interfere in Polish affairs

, Kaczyński also ordered PiS to tone

Kaczyński hasn't order anything - there is simply no dialogue with Russia, we cannot influence Russia into anything - Poland supports international sanctions against Russia - Poland actively seeks to become independent from Russian natural gas dictate - i understand you hate PiS and will use any argument to denigrate them no matter how idiotic and counter-factual

Germany didn't change, Poland did!

sure Germany didn't change they bend over to Russians to build NordStream I paying no attenition how it would possibly affect Polish situation - PO naturally didn't complain because the are German sycophants - there are voices in Germany who raise concerns with the Nord Stream 2 but they are not influential enough - yes Poland has changed - you know why - because people grew fed up with your puppets - Germany hasn't changed in the slightest -- it forces their egoistic policies against Polish interests

News / Mass-media in Poland: which are left wing, right wing or centrist? [44]

ow about that - there are hundreds of similar articles from the October election

farmers are not a burden on the state finances before they actually reach the retirement age - if you tried to manipulate us to believe - and actually they support the system even if not on the same scale as ZUS payers -

in the 2015 election PiS won in virtually all environments including among those whith university education

are you seriously comparing the amount spend on the salaries of the managerial class in say KGHM to what they spend on dividends - you must be a prisoner of your own prejudice then

History / Give Poland back it's lost land ! [132]

no I'm not a muslim and I thouroughly despise Islam which is even more toxic to true spirituality than christianity - the teaching I follow can be found here askrealjesus.com and the affiliated websites

as for politics i support the current Polish government but not blindly so - though in the current Polish political scene there is nothing better

the current Polish government can't be classified in terms of the opposition leftists vs conservatives - as they are socially minded but still conservative (no state promotion of in-vitro, no gay marriages, and against free access to abortion) - I share these views with them - I support free market but believe state should have an eye on it at least not allowing laws to be passed giving existing companies near monopolies

I won't even mention your need for a private gas pipeline to Russia, circumventing your so called friend Poland.

the Gerries are unabashed when it comes to NordStreams - they just brush it off with a statement that is a private enterprise - they have very peculiar notion of what friendship or at least partnership means

well I'm not a Christian and to be honest the spiritual teaching I follow states that Christianity is a major obstacle for the Forces of Light to have a true impact on the state of things on this planet

History / Why is Poland weaker than Russia? [390]

I happen to live in the area of Poland where the social programmes of NSDAP are very tangibly observable (in the area of Opole) to this day in the form of dozens of houses built in the same pattern (every village here has at least a couple) - maybe core German provinces don't have them I don't know

you are wasting your time quarrelling with Polish outcasts and about an issue that doesn't matter anymore - Vilnius has no more Polish majority and is not contested by the Polish government - I guess you do so to obscure real issues Polish people face in Lithuania like the ability to use Polish versions of their names on official documents which creates problems while they interact with authorities in Poland -

Did Russian brutally enforced on Poles Dostoyevsky and Pushkin?..

Vlad - ever heard of the Polish Operation of NKVD in the later part of the 30's - Soviets haven't bothered with enforcing Russian poets on the targeted populace - they prefered shooting them in the heads and burying the bodies in mass graves - this was before the WWII ever started - about 100 000 Polish people mostly men fell victim - females and children on the other hand were sent to the wilderness of Siberia or Kazakhstan

older and more educated Poles also remember how Soviet Union sucked upon Polish People's Republic - it lasted well into the 80's

What are Polish liberals' stances

-Polish liberals (at least theirr elite) parrot Western stances on these - but Poland is way more conservative than the PiS - total opposition divide might suggest

just look what the total oppostion's banner show : "Stop PiSlam" is one of the more common - not quite PC isn't it -

as for immigration (let's forget the immigration of Ukrainians) - the stance of the leader of the total opposition changed three times in a scope of a couple of days - I can't be bothered with digging up the footage of these but it wouldn't be overhuman task

I don't know the public stances on gay marriage but gay adoption would drown anybody in the political field in Poland

Language / Polish and other slavic language differences [60]

There is no "ли" in Ukrainian.

li is present in Polish but is considered archaic or is used in fossilized constructions - maybe it is a similar case in Ukrainian

I hope that all Europe will unite some day and such countries as Ukraine, Moldova, Russia and Belarus will become EU members. T

it is a very hopeful future you suggest here - at the moment Russian elites seem to be the major obstacle though - although I think that Russians cherish their imperial status and their alienation from Europe

How do you know they were not slavified,

they were Slavicised indeed (more like Polonised) - but there was no administrative pressure responsible for it for the whole period of Lithuania being influenced by Poland - people simply adopted Polish language because of convenience and because of cultural appeal

Kowno area Poles including Lauda Poles where in contrast forced to adopt the Lithuanian language
from what I can gather Lithuanian nobility were adopting Polish surnames and were adopted into Polish noble clans for a long time and no trace of their previous surnames remained then - still some of these people (Lithuanian nobility) only changed their surnames into more or less Polish sounding forms - hence we have Radziwiłłs, Dowgirds, Januszajtis's,

History / Give Poland back it's lost land ! [132]

Lithuanians had always trouble understanding that Vilnius/Wilno and it's region had overwhelming Polish majority at the end of WW the first - they also have trouble admitting that some regions that the Polish state allowed to remain in Lithuania had Polish majority or a very sizeable minority (look up Lauda= Polonia Laudańska) andthat these were subject to heavy Lithuanizing pressure - just look up Lithuanian surnames - you will find that plenty of them are Polish in disguise - Brazauskas=Brzozowski, Prunskiene - Pruńska - just from my memory there are hundreds of surnames that were Lithuanised in this manner - just look up this site en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Lithuanian-language_surnames
