In my opinion post communism Poland faced a difficult situation because it was artificially made up so most of its production went to USSR which seized to exist.Russians started importing western products instead of polish and the polish ones could not compete against the western.So unemployment rose.Opposite to this CR had already some brand names like Skoda and it just needed to revitalize the perfect road and railway transportaion system of the Austrohungarian times which connected the Danube countries.The old commercial ways between Germany,Austria and CR started again.

Hungary on the other hand survived always by taxes of its subordinates like the ottoman kingdom.So they could not live up to high standards without controlling Slovakia,Transylvania and blackmailing Austria like they did in Austrohungarian times.

I agree with this.I was yesterday in Warsaw and saw some of the provincial eastern Poland some regions look even worse than Belarus.I don't know why is that.CR is definitely better in all areas and the poverty of Hungary struck me when I visited Budapest one year ago however I attribute this to corruption and turkish mentality.

It depends on what inspires people.For example the scandinavian model would hardly inspire Americans.On the other hand the german model is applicable only in Germany and there are historical,cultural,genetic reasons for this.

The liberal model clearly failed in Russia and was succeeded by a far more succesful mild authoritarian model under Putin which is closer to russian mentality.As an Ukrainian told me once if you don't beat the Russian he will not work.
