Travel / Cheaper Flights to Poland [50]

SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES

SAS are excellent - we use them regularly at work - always about 30% cheaper than Lufthansa but the same quality of service.

Life / Is Poland split into two religions: catholicism and non-believers? [103]

correct me if I am wrong, but there is the one and only right doctrine of what the pope says. All other opinions are heresy/blasphemy. That's the RC Church approach. Not so progressive and evolving or open to debate.

The Church was involved in the investigation of the Shroud of Turin, they were also involved in the investigation of the authenticity of the dead sea scrolls - There are many schollars in the RC Church - dont think for one moment all priests are uneducated idiots!

When I go to a footie match, I watch it and enjoy it. I see where my money goes.

Do you see where that money goes, Am? On marble floors and Alfa Romeos.

Each to their own.

I wouldn't pay a dime on that either!

Your choice.

History / The Untold Battle of Britain [205]

My point is that Poland was sold up the river by the Allies.

Yawn...keep repeating it, it doesnt make it true...I noticed how you failed to answer my question:

Look at Britain post WWII and ask yourself if they could have taken on the Russians?

? Answers on a post card please!

in Catholicism it's "either you're with us or against" - there is no place for individual thinking and questioning.

Thats not true, in fact its a damn lie, the RC church has indeed questioned many things and Im sure there are plenty of casual (read = go at xmas and easter) church goers in Poland, I know a couple.

Olaf, that's the same as Islam and that's the worrying aspect

You cant even compare the two! Its a bloody insult!

Donations? LOL. What an utter disgrace!

People pay more a year for a season ticket to go and watch some over paid idots run round a pitch..whats wrong with someone giving a small donation every Sunday, most Catholics will go to church about 3 times a week, not bad value for money (people dont give £30/£40 per week more like £2 - £5 - plus price of candles) if you ask me.

And similarly if you don't go to church every Sunday you commit sins (the additional Church 5 commandaments

?

History / The Untold Battle of Britain [205]

The Yalta Betrayal

Yawn...change the record, this one is very boring..

Look at Britain post WWII and ask yourself if they could have taken on the Russians?

I don't know why but Ireland recognised the Polish Government in Exile for many years after the war!

The goverment was based in London for many years so I'd say they were recognised in the UK too..In fact they were based in London up to 1990..What was your point exactly?

Talking out your bum hole buddy, bloody thousands of Poles in my neck of the woods, and have been for 70-80 even 100 years now.

Im from Manchester, we had the largest settlement of Poles pre-war and even more post war.

Polish Circle Social Club is an established organisation that provides a friendly welcome to all guests and clients throughout the local area. The Kolo Polskie also known as the Polish Circle Social Club, which is situated in Manchester close to the city centre, It was founded in 1937 and in 1938 it was established as a Social Club. The friendly organisation now has many years experience in the Members Club sector.

Yeah we're that unfriendly in Manchester they decided to settle here and open up a social club :D

Life / Talking over people in conversations; is it a Polish trait? [41]

Wouldn't you agree it might be best for him to speak to the mother first, its always difficult when one is not the paternal parent, it might be taken out of context. If the mother demonstrated polite manners when holding a conversation her daughter might follow suit, just an idea.

Life / Talking over people in conversations; is it a Polish trait? [41]

I notice that my partner and her daughter often seem to talk over each other all of the time without pausing for breath; is this normal!

I have to say I have noticed this when on the bus and two people (Polish) are talking at each other at the same time (I say "at" because its not what I consider a "normal" conversation), it also might explain why they're so loud too :D Each to their own though!

Travel / Can I enter first to Poland having a Czech visa? [13]

Schengen visa

Then its "tourist" visa so yes you can.

By the way, China and Pakistan locates in totally different areas.

They're still two different countries as are Poland and Czech republic...maybe I should have said China and India - both nextdoor to each other..No?

There _is_ such thing as national long stay visa.

This is why I asked if it was a Schegen visa which is a short stay tourist visa, the OP stated they had a "Czech visa, if that had been the case then the visa is specifically for that country.

Can I enter first to Poland having a Czech visa?

Once its Schengen visa

Schengen visa

You should have been clear in your first post and you would have received the correct information.

UK, Ireland / What cigarettes are popular in England? i ask because of EXIT music festival [15]

Lucky Strike are also popular (usually get them in vending machines in nice bars in the UK) - but to be honest, if someone is a smoker and their usual brand isnt on offer they'll smoke the local fags, so my advice would put a markup price on your locals brands rather than selling more expensive ones like Malboro - it will be a lot more profitable...

People living on council estates are consumers too. I would assume the best survey would be to ask the leading manufacturers, which brands they produce the most due to demand in the UK?

Just shows who the majority of consumers are...

Love / Do Polish men find African American women attractive? [25]

I was in Krakow back in 2006 and the only black (not even black - she was mixed raced) person I came across was a woman with her husband who was on my flight from Manchester (both locals from Manchester - England) I also saw couple of asian guys in a bar and that was it....Just enjoy your holiday and dont focus on your skin colour, I dont expect English people make a fuss when they're going to Uganda for their holidays..why should you?

Love / Are there Polish women who date black guys? [281]

There are many puritan types that will reject anything foreign but blacks are not seen in a good light by many. This is largely in conservative parts, though.

They get a bad name for a reason, yet another stabbing in London this week - they're trying to blame the fact that there are very few blacks on the police force, they cant just admit they are violent animals..I dont see any Chinese police officers, but strangely enough I also dont see hoards of marauding Chinese teeenagers stabbing each other and gang rapping English girls!

News / Who are you voting for in the 2010 Poland's presidential elections and why? [82]

According to a Dutch comedian: "whenever I want to visit a clairvoyant and he answers my knock on his door with a 'who's there?' I always turn around and leave immediately."

When I was 19 and and studying I worked on a chat line part time - a "mystic" one :D I once told a man (yeah, believe it or not loads of men used to ring, usually asian and wanting to know if their arranged marriage would work!) he would only find true love with another man - cruel I know, but I thought it was funny :D If people are stupid enough to believe then they deserve to be told a load of bullshyt!

Life / Cosmetic surgery in Poland... [40]

I tried to search and didn't have much luck

First of all cheap isnt usually the best - plenty of British women have gone abroad for surgery and regretted it..Save up the extra and get it done in the States would be my advice - Ive heard the after care is quite shocking in the countries where its cheaper. Im not saying Poland specifically here.

Love / I'm a black African man and can't cope with my Polish mother in law [34]

in my culture this behaviour shows a lack of respect for me as father and husband

Which culture is that? In Europe its pretty much the norm for mothers to be involved some more than others - if you take it as a sign of disrespect then you are over-reacting.

UK, Ireland / What do you hate about England and English people? [142]

I love the Welsh accent.

You are in a minority then (nothing against the Welsh btw)

The looks------- If your a male looking at the woman, I would have to agree

Really - I could say a lot of English men are minging and have to resort to dating naive Eastern European girls because they cant get anything half decent of their own nationality ;0) But I wont, because that would be just plain rude!

As to the rest of the Miguels comments...Yawn, I really cant take offence when a brown skinned person insults the English...Its actually quite amusing.

History / The Untold Battle of Britain [205]

I can't see where the moaning can come in.

To make good TV, it wouldnt do to say that Poles were welcome and made good lives for themselves - Im sure there were some who made them feel unwelcome but times were hard and Im sure people were not feeling as charitable as they may have preferred.

Maybe they should have spoken the family members of those that were here from the 1930s

Nope only the end...that was enough - Poles settled in the UK and forged some nice communities, they must have rounded up the miserable moaning ones for good TV.

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people importing a new wave of ancient racism into the UK? [402]

Britain and France, in particular, were greedy when it came to Africa so let them pick up the tab now.

That made me laugh, we've been picking up the tab for decades - how much a year do you think we send to these countries by way of aid? No? Well its £7.75 billion. Plus Seanus, its not my generations problem, Some upper class twits grand parents sins are not mine. These countries are still shyt holes even with this amount of money..Ever heard the saying - thowing good money after bad?

Polands best bet is to cap immigration before it even starts! Investment yes, hoards of none EU students from India and Africa - NO! They cant aford the studies and they have no intentions of going home after they finish if they can aford them! Offer nothing to them and they will stay away!

Love / Love without chemistry? (Asian in love with a Polish woman) [195]

And now tell me why do we have divorces...

Because men are cheating lying b*stards who need castrating? :D

And what exactly is wrong with SATISFACTION alone?

Nothing, pure and simple..

How about sex?

We all do it (apart from men that can't of course)

How about "physical attractiveness" and "physical chemistry

they part of the many important elements that make a relationship work.

Do you mean I can only buy her heart with these, not money?

Money is just another element...that alone wont make someone "love" you or be truely attracted to you..She'll most probably like the look of your wallet though..
