I still don't see a point for a sensationalised panorama programme about driving in Poland -

Nor I, I disagree with sensationalist finger pointing documentaries as I said "kettle calling the pot black". but!! if, "tabloid England" are going to make them anyway ,why not make one that is less "pie in the sky", and one that may actually say lives.

Stadiums of Hate

A lot of anger about Poles in England from the little englanders. I think BBC were cashing in on this tabloid mentality with their "stadium of hate".

It's funny the logic of the illogical. I met an Irish friend(neighbor,so not friend by choice) the other day, and he is unashamedly racist and homophobic;he had seen the infamous documentary and he was outraged at how the Poles were such a "nation of racist". lol The moral high-ground of the kettle calling the pot black.

I agree this documentary will be forgotten all ready,but the roads, the roads, the drivers eh??

All this talk about Polish ultras and hooligans, but nothing about the madness of Polish drivers, the sh1t roads,inadequate lights and road signs etc

Should BBC not be warning their law abiding drivers about Polish drivers. Maybe, a Panorama documentary called the "the imaginary third lane".The chances of people getting killed on the roads are far greater than that of getting beatin to death by racist thugs.

And Poland is ****** is it? really? tell that to the companies who are moving here. Everything in Poland economic numbers is positive comapaired to the rest of the EU-27.

that's like saying"show me a rich man that is starving of hunger"

I'd even say the collapse of the Euro would benefit Poland in the long term as Germany would have to offshore production to low cost area if it got he DM back, if it setup the New Euro, Poland would obviously be a founder member if it choose - a win-win.

Lot of wild speculation there,, who knows. If the **** hits the fan ....................................
Some people think Poland will fall into the hands of Putin, if the euro collapses,
I'm not sure of the future, but I'm sure the Germans should be told to f0ck off, especially from an Irish perspective.

Countries like UK and Ireland are now getting poorer faster that Poland.

lol, this line of logic is false.
Minimum wage is 4 times higher in Ireland,the dole(with rent allowance) is 12000 euro a year,in Poland the average industrial wage is 7500euro.. you cant compare whales with oranges.

Well !! over-identifying with a Soviet style interpretation of the so called "west" , may lead to a brick wall. Whose the west?? what about Chinese capitalism?? I'm sick of making this point.

The west is used far to loosely here in Poland, and an Irishman I could easily label Poland: the west. You were the west centuries before the Scots and the Irish so..........

I am a white guy born in Sussex England and have lived here in Poland with my wife and daughter for the last 13 years, bloody presumptuous idiot. lol

Some of us choose to live in blocks

I disagree, nobody if given the choice would choose to live in such a sh1thole. I Know the situation and the prevalence of these monstrosities, but they are inhumane.

Polish flats

I know people get use to living in such condition, and why wouldn't they, submission is the price of sanity, but NO ONE would choose to live in a Panelák Tower Block.

Tower Blocks cause major social problems,that is a proven fact, and that's the reason they have been knocked down in the west. The fact that they are fixing them up and insulating them in Poland etc is very sad.

Millions of people round the world live in blocks without being hooligans. Most people who live in blocks here in Poland are perfectly normal.

True, but they are inhumane conditions to live in, and if two families live in a tiny 50 meter apartment in a disgusting grey block , there will be socio-economic problems.

He is right about London and about Poland. The Neo-Liberal agenda has now been taken on board by the average dispossessed Londoner; they saw the Banks and their lackeys preaching about individualism and Profit,anyone can be rich, "just do it" mentality;and now the chickens have come home to roost.

In Poland the people have, as WB says, just basically grown accustomed to being a door math. Devout Catholics and strong right wing may drive people into rising up against Soviet totalitarianism, but the same isms may act to reinforce obedience in an inverted totalitarian society.

In my kitchen right at this very moment is a Polish person related to my wife who we are helping set up in the UK to escape Polish poverty.

This would be my view and experience as well. There are lots of people driving cars for the price that some people have taken out 50 year mortgages.

The question then is, why are so many people obviously lying that the economy is booming; people on here, the Polish government, and every time I go home to Ireland I am always bombarded by sneering remarks from Irish people "I hear the feckin Polish are loaded now, after robbing all our cash" sort of thing. When I tell them the actual situation for the average Poles \as in them having practically no disposable income compared to western Europe they are shocked and sort of relieved. I meet the same people a year later and they spin the same yarn"Poland is booming and we're not bla bla bla, now I just tell them f0ck off
