ellis island only has records between certain dates.

i think castle garden might have something.

if folk left from Poland then u should try hamburg records. main departure point was germany not Poland.

besides this, new york was not the only port of entry. some might have entered through canada.

However, check the name spelling and all results at ellis island a few months either side of what your best estimate is.

i did find some eu site with terminology and it said voivodeship was ok. then i was directed to legal eu terminology and couldn't find anything.

but there are a couple of hundred eu documents (in english) listing voivodeship. from what i read they were all Polish documents though.

even if i find a none Polish source i guess i still have to prove it's valid.

it seems you took my route to work. the bridge would look a little different as it was rebuilt a few years ago.

the argument seems to be about a Polish word written in english. if it's already in english it must be valid.

depends on the age of the film, which company worked on it, quality of translation. the lektor/narrator is also allowed to adjust the text sometimes.

i know because i've done it.

i usually listen to films in english and am able to ignore the lektor. however, it is getting more difficult as the timing of the lektor can be adjusted by computer to completely cover the original voice..

i usually explain to students here that the english matura exam would be easy enough for native english teenagers.

i guess it works both ways.

Chrząszcz will be taking an exam based on a particular reading age... maybe that of a 13 or 14yr old Pole.

(whereas science subjects would require similar knowledge.)
