Language / Best book for a language noobie? Learning Polish. [22]

is she English RR?
If so, and she is under 60, she might have a very vague grasp of grammar. Unless she went to an expensive school the extent of her grammar knowledge could be 'a verb is a doing word'..:)

She might not even have grasped the concept of 'case'. (if I am wrong, forgive me)
Therefore blinding her with grammar terms might be counter productive, as she will run away screaming.

Work / Paramedic salary in Poland [69]

not everyone is poor and bitter in poland

mate, I am not even in Poland, no need to be nasty.
TEFL in Europe is basically dead, (outside of pre-sessional courses for English speaking universities. Which is nice work if you can get it)

so quick to write others off.

not at all, but people considering a 'career' in TEFL need to be forewarned, and those who are posting here with realistic advice have bitter experience..:)

Is this guy going to be able to make a decent living for him and his kid by teaching English?

lets be honest, no.
newly qualified TEFL teachers are ten a penny. Unless they have something more to offer, like a solid legal or engineering background, some years of experience, a Masters in ELT, etc etc.

And some of these language schools take the mick they really do. They want all that,. the qualifications, the degree, the experience, yet offer very little in return.

For example, 3000 zl a month..could you raise a family on that? I think not.

Law / Last will in Poland - (can a stranger inherit everything?) [40]

you really need a lawyer.
But if the will is to be executed in Poland, then I would have thought that under Napoleonic type law, children have to inherit.
this is different from the UK and USA, where as you say, you are entitled to leave your wealth to whoever you like.

Work / Highest Paying Jobs in Poland?! [7]

well i guess it would depend on your skills and qualifications. I daresay the highest paid job might be, say, neuro surgeon, but you dont mention if you are qualified for this.

he insists his English matura score is enough.

not sure about that, each uni is different. I am TOEFL would help, if he doesnt want to study at Luton Ring Road University...(Brit joke. obviously the reputation of individual universities varies wildly)

Which school does he like?

He found a school he really likes for 9k pounds a year.

yes I think that is the standard price these days, assuming your cousin is an EU citizen.
When I went to uni here in the UK, not only was it free, but the govt paid you to go! Mind you only the fairly privileged got the privilege, if you see what I mean. That was British socialism...:)
