Real Estate / WOODEN HUNTERS TOWERS ON MY LAND in POLAND.....is it legal....? [59]

What do you mean by this joke?

I probably meant it as a joke. :):):) What else could I mean? :):):)

You think it wouldn't work as advised above to contact RDLP or local hunters assc. and ask them to remove their ambona?

There is high probability they will shoot you. Guns are too popular in US. :):):)

hardy harr harr.

Exactly. Thank you for this remark. There are too many Dirty Harrys all over US.

Real Estate / WOODEN HUNTERS TOWERS ON MY LAND in POLAND.....is it legal....? [59]

The case is simple - if it is your private land and you can prove it, and you don`t want that stuff there, you should go to the nearest Koło £owieckie and talk to its boss and set the date for the removal. They have to take it down if you don`t agree.

Or, another way: :):):)

Wheel hunting is required to withdraw from the inquiry / request to the owner or tenant of land with permission to build a pulpit like. Please do not forget the wheel ONLY hunting is not hunting circuit leaseholder owns !!! So these rules are valid PZ£owieckiego . From personal experience I know what I'm sorry to say I am also a member of the Polish Hunting Association that often blinds are built on the grounds of " peasant " without any contact with the owner. And worst often happens with trees around the pulpit are cut .

Conversely, if the owner of the land is state, national forests are " Bor" has the right and should prosecute the perpetrator .

Travel / Attractions in Wrocław: a Must-See List [117]

That's more than "a few pearls here and there".

Compared to the city`s size, it is still a few. :):):)

But it's mostly true for Wroclaw.

I don`t agree. Krakow has more pearls than Wrocław. :):):)

Travel / Attractions in Wrocław: a Must-See List [117]

Krakow and Wrocław share a few negative characteristics: they are big, dirty, chaotic, polluted and ugly cities, despite a few pearls here and there.

Love / Not used to dating a Polish man [28]

Was this developed from his years in Poland during communists' rule?

Communism finished in 1989. It is long enough to stop blaming it for people`s vices.

Po polsku / Polska jest dyktaturą? [129]

– No i tu się mylisz, Grucha. Wiesz co to jest reinkarnacja? Słyszałeś w swoim życiu taki długi wyraz!?

:):):)

i jak zapewne zdążyłeś się przekonać, potrafię je (Was) bezbłędnie rozpoznać.

Jesteś po prostu genialna! :):):)

Wstyd. Jesteś taki płaski.

Travel / Attractions in Wrocław: a Must-See List [117]

You really caught the worst few days...

Yes, but it was the same throughout Poland. That is why I prefered visiting Wrocław to going the the seaside. :):):):)

I hope you found some nice pubs to hide ;)

I am not a pub goer on trips. I try not to drink alcohol in alien places.

Actually, I am not a pub goer at all. :):):)

Po polsku / Polska jest dyktaturą? [129]

My, amerykański Polacy, serdecznie witamy polskich Polaków do "naszego" fora. Szczególnie Ms. Wredotka. Obiecamy extra miłe i owocne rozmowy. :)

No cóż, wredotce trochę nie wyszła ironia. Zdarza się. Każdy z nas miewa lepsze i gorsze dni. Wybacz jej. :):):)

Po polsku / Polska jest dyktaturą? [129]

Pass.

News / Sex is patriotic: Poland's birth rate rises [34]

Has Crow been writing your scripts?

No, Raven wrote my scripts.

But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only,
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -

Off-Topic / Countries and your associations in 5 words/descriptions. [56]

Negative associations from a historical point of view:

The French - cowards and Nazi collaborators.
The British - inventors of concentration camps.
Germans - inventors of death camps with gas chambers.
Americans - slave owners.
Russians - slaves of tsars and communist appartachiks.
Ukrainians - butchers from UPA and OUN.
Austrians - best Hitler`s allies.
Hungarians - estranged barbarians in Europe.
Poles: unruly anarchists, unable to run their country.

Po polsku / Polska jest dyktaturą? [129]

History / Why is the Battle of Grunwald celebrated more than the Battle of Lubiszewo? [29]

the Battle of Lubiszewo was really a much more impressive Polish victory.

Strange, I have never heard of this battle. It isn`t taught in Polish history classes. Thanks for info.

Which is one of the most impressive Polish battles fo all time along with Klushino.

Which is much more popular and known in Poland.

Travel / Attractions in Wrocław: a Must-See List [117]

Can't wait to see the pics...

But when you see my gorgeous pics, you won`t want to see those places in real... :(:(:(:(

So what were your highlights?

The places mentioned in this thread plus a few museums and Gothic churches.

PS. I think I should start a new thread about my 2011 vacation to show all those photos. :):):)

delphiandomine:
Aquapark - 99zl for the family.
Kids are 12/15. I am hoping to indoctrinate them with something a little more cultural / historic. I can splash them with a hose when I get home! ;-)

Don`t treat the Aqua Park so lightly - kids will have fun. :):):)

Everybody interested in the history of Wrocław should visit this site - a lot of unique pictures and descriptions.

Language / Meaning of git majonez [7]

I don't know what actually literally 'git' means or meant

Yes, it is prison slang. Tough criminals have called themselves git people.

It is Polish slang for great, excellent. A little ironic, but without offensive intentions.

News / Poznań celebrates summer with 11,000 lanterns! [5]

Reports following this event estimated 500 people with singed hair, 335 house fires, 350 forest fires, 200 downed aircraft, 1 close encounter with martians and NATO put on high alert after bratwurst boy thought WW3 had started.

Don`t forget about downed bats, which, after all, are protected in Poland.

Don't get silly, people.

Travel / Attractions in Wrocław: a Must-See List [117]

Uuf, we have just come back from a 5 day trip to Wrocław. We managed to complete about 88% of our original plans - the weather has been really nasty.

I took 2400 photos, most will be photobucketed sooner or later, I am going to start processing them today.

The short comment: Certainly, I wouldn`t trade my home town for Wrocław if I decided to move. Despite a few pearls here and there, it is as horrible as Krakow. :):):):)

It is good to be home at last where my favourite home-made whisky has been wating for me.

PS. We took an accidental tourist from Wrocław - a fly. Free ride! I hope he doesn`t demand being taken back in a week or so after doing all the sighseeing of Krakow`s rubbish bins and doggy doos on the pavements. Maybe next year.

History / Chance of Lwów once again became coming part of Poland [344]

I do not understand why people go on and on about this here.

It is an iron topic for going on and on. It reappears a few times a year in different threads. :):):):) Some people have little obsessions, you should accept it. :):):)

UK, Ireland / Polish burglars 'tied up pensioner and stripped her of jewellery before leaving her to die [28]

median:
"Legal papers reveal the divorced father-of-two was barred from the Army because a psychologist deemed he was an untreatable psychopath."

Surprised he didnt end up in the Parachute Regiment...............

Look at him: Freddy Krueger is a sweet baby in comparison:

d

It seems the British police flunked the job:

Dlugosz was arrested 20 months later when murder detectives employed sophisticated forensic techniques to identify DNA left by his gloved hand on three chisels. They found his real name was Piotr Bogucki and that he had fooled local officers who arrested him over two burglaries in the month before Miss Kelmenson was killed.

Those officers failed to send a copy of his fingerprints to Poland for officers to cross-check on their systems.
As a result they did not realise the tattooed 6ft villain was wanted by the Polish authorities to complete a sentence for tying up staff during violent raids on schools in 2000.

Inquiries by the Daily Mail in Poland have revealed Dlugosz spent the majority of his adult life serving jail sentences for violent crimes and burglaries.

Po polsku / Polska jest dyktaturą? [129]

Life / Homosexuality in Polish Culture [231]

Today, on the main evening news, they broadcast the footage from New York where the state authorities gave the green light to gay marriages. The report and commentary was neutral - both sides were represented and happy gay couples, rejoicing in streets after the verdict, were shown.

Moje ulubione grafitti. Mijam go codziennie idąc do pracy.

Wszystkim to wisi że to tak wisi. :):):)

Dlatego moja propozycja - nie przejmujmy się Rydzykiem. Niech nam też wisi.
