Anyways, technically if you are served alcohol on LOT - then it would be LOT breaking the Ontario Drinking Law - not you.

Besides, once in Poland you will have the opportunity to drink yourself silly 24/7 since they alcohol is available like in Quebec;)

Seriously what's the latest election prognosis? They are going to lose, right?

they have to, otherwise this country will become unbearable. There is already a spilt between PIS and the rest- whatever their association is. The family members and friends stopped talking to each other because of that and I am not making this up. I think that Poland is already a country (the PIS, Rudzyk/Radio Maryja) within a country.

if I weren't the president and would be present at the scene I would laugh even more :P - Kaczyński misbehaved but it was Tusk who was making and idiot of himself - tryign to show off with such 'modest' English

yah, you keep saying that over and over again, yet I still think that Kaczynski didn't know how to behave. If he had something against Tusk, the international meeting is NOT a place to deal with such disagreements.

Do you understand that such thing should be discussed in private? Again, if you don't see anything wrong with the way the Duck showed his stupid face, then I really question your judgement.

After seeing this video I cannot believe the idiot was representing a country. Any country for that matter.

He doesn't look like a sane person to me.

I actually admire Tusk for keeping his cool instead of punching the stupid moron in the face.

Did anybody find this as funny as I did?

I watched it and I think that John had some interesting opinions about Poland and Poles. His Polish is really good though.

Kuba could be a little more serious, but I think John really stole the show from him. lol

I don't think they were bashing the church. John is a not believer and said that the present situation (you either with us or against us) is becoming a bit frustrating for him. He is a very honest person.

Since when an observation made by one person is an opinion of all the foreigners? Since when I said I was right. I must have touched a sensitive spot in your Polishness. Your posts just proves that you are a little uptight too.

I am not a foreigner in Poland, but I have been away long enough to spot the cultural differences. I think that you twisted what I said or did not read what I have written.

Readjust your filters and improve on reading skills.

btw if you had seen the man in an interview with Tomasz Lis once you wouldn't call him insane - he was eloquent, intelligent, self-assured and calm enough to dominate Lis

if that's the case, then he has fooled a lot of people.

Weather Poles take him seriously or not is not the issue. I think he should be taken seriously as a treat to democracy in Poland and siding with CC to stay in power.Anything to win people's votes. I think he is a very crafty player.

Maybe the law and taxes will be normal for my grandchilds... for sure it will be someday and Poland will be the great again... :P I'm sure about that, because we were great many times in history :P

Was this a one-off instance or have there been others?

this particular person seems to be uptight about many things. I am way much more relaxed, especially when I am at the street festival. I love public gatherings and she seems to be uptight about them, but she was the one who suggested it. I feel at home in most places and I think that might be the issue here. I really don't know and I am not interested in finding out. I like to relax whenever I can:). End of the rant:)

I would like to add that we were OUTSIDE and the men sitting with us at the table asked us if they can smoke. She said: YES. So I assumed that I can smoke too. Simple:).

Thanks for all the comments. I still think that her reaction was not justified. Luck of social skills perhaps.

nothing, I find it rude. It seems to me that putting somebody else's life style down make some people feel better about themselves. Well, for a short time anyways. They better look in the mirror.

no, they don't. They are simply relaxed because this is how they behave in their on country.

I have been here for 7 months and I am beginning to notice that many Poles are so uptight. I was doing shopping and spotted some foreigners. They were loud, relaxed and happy.

I went out with a friend of mine last night to a street festival, she was unhappy about my smoking, told me not to smoke. I told her to relax. She got upset and left, because I would not change my habits for her.

Also the men sitting at the table told her to relax too.

In my opinion it is not her business to tell me not to smoke, which I told her and said that she either accepts me the way I am, or stop hanging out with me. She knows that I smoke.

I find some Polish women so controlling. I guess it is upbringing.

It is not even the smoking, it is the lack of tolerance for people who are different. I think that the happy period has ended for me and I am beginning to notice the lack of social skills of some Poles.

Anyways, back to the street festival, this time by myself:)
