Although I experienced seeing two obviously feminine men with very feminine cloths talking very feminine so I assumed they were gay (as my father). My father of course answered in Norwegian (He is Polish but knows Norwegian and we were in Poland)

Russia had problems with Turkey they needed land and a deal with Prussia/Austria (idk how much with Prussia, didn't come a real real real power until later) also the last constitution was a threat to the stability in Russia (what if the Russian people started to like Polish ideas he?)
Prussia was still quite small (compared to nowadays Germany for instance) so it needed population and lands and cash $$$
While Austria stood at the side, they weren't overall happy to annex/invade/occupy Poland as it was mainly catholic in office places (although there was a veriaty of Jews and such so not sure)
But as later on atleast they were more into German blood and so on and their know for their anti-slavic feelings. But most of all they didn't let Russia grab too much, and let them have something for themselves :)
I I would say that everyone of the countries had logical motives BUT if I were Tsar of Russia I would ally myself with the Polish people and use them as a shield. THat was a fatal mistake (that they didn't do it I mean)

We had a experience in the family with a Russian marry this Polish girl working at an embassy or something. Clearly he only married her to get into that place since he got busted and divorced her at the spot.
I really had hoped it was just stereotype, but with such experience I would been an outcast if I even looked at an Russian women! :/
(I might be saved if she has Norwegian background and has lived in Norway all her life tho) ^^

I would say German thinking about helmets is more meant to form the helmet for best use, while Most Slavic helmets are just round, although the Soviet one looked quite like the German one (the one in 1939)

Let's say Poland and Lithuania walk out of NATO and Poland invades Lithuania!
(Russia would be immobilized because of NATO while Germany at the other hand has such a terrible experience from WW2 that even on expeditionary missions they have to have forces next to them from a foreign country)
