Life / Uptight Poles [262]

As a M.D after studies my salary would be around 6500 US dollar per YEAR!!!!

That's slightly off-topic ( as was nearly all of Your rant ), dear doctor, but You're whining without a cause there.

6500 USD = 6500 x 2.73 = 17745 PLN = 1478,75 PLN per month.

You must be talking about the bloody "staz" I believe You call it. It only lasts a year. After that it is specialization and After specialization You'll be able to easily make 5-6 times the monthly amout given above.

So cheer up and quit whining.

Work / Chartered accountant from India joining a company in Poland. Cost of living in Poznan? [29]

For which qualified jobs??? -

Well...

A respected Polish mid-tier lawyer in a salaried ( non-partner ) position within a bigger firm ( only applicable to legal firms from Warsaw, Wroclaw, Tri-City and Cracow, think Weil, Gotshal & Manges or Domanski, Zakrzewski, Palinka ) will very often make more than 15k zloty net/per month.

Same goes for a lawyer with his own practice outside of said areas, but still within a bigger city - like in Lodz or Szczecin ( though there's usually only a few of them per such city, the rest make less ).

During the real-estate boom I've seen ads for in-house lawyers admitted to the Polish bar with experience in real estate. Foreign developers were looking and were willing to pay adequate salaries ( the numbers I've seen were 60k pounds per annum ). Dunno how these jobs turned out when the market went belly up though.

Doctors - a lot of them make mint in private practice, there's an especially lucrative "new drug testing" market in Poland.

Architects - have personally paid people in excess of 250.000 zloty for what amounted to less than a year's worth of work.

One thing though - we are talking about established professionals educated locally, with, I must stress, very good local personal contacts and years of experience. So that's what the top people make ( and actually I wouldn't be shocked if partners in legal firms I mentioned made 1 mil dollars a year after bonuses ). But the rest... As was said - 5/6 k gross seems a lot more reasonable.

Also, please remember nobody in their right mind will pay an accountant who just got off a plane from India 15-20k zloty gross per month here, since they can easily find local people with the same qualifications for half the amount. Same goes for a lawyer from the prestigious Kandahar Law School with no knowledge of the local standards or a doctor from Bangladesh who doesn't speak Polish.

Life / Uptight Poles [262]

Oh, yeah, indeed she is.

Cut out the part about the semi-decent behind then, switch "sir" to "madam" and it is still all there.

I mean I'm sorry, but her telling You not to smoke publicly - wtf is that? Blatant display of lack of respect.

Life / Uptight Poles [262]

at least it's so with Polish men...without their mothers and wives they 'd spend their entire life in front of tv eating kielbasa with beer every day and they would change their socks once a month.

Somebody here thinks they are superior because of being born with a vagina :-)

Typical Slavic princess stuff.

Uptight Poles

I've read the topic and I don't get it.

"My Polish <friend> is an uptight, snotty tart that I keep around only because she has a semi-decent behind and I hope to bang it one day" would be a much more appropriate title :-)

I've spent tons of time in Poland, mostly business but also leisure, and by no means do I find all Polish people uptight. What You are doing is looking at what one arrogant girl who probably had no decent upbringing did and saying that her behaviour means all of her people behave like that.

And that's just no good, sir.

Also, I need to point out that during all my time in Poland ( and most other places for that matter ) I never had a person ( male/female ) tell me to stop smoking/drinking/gambling or whatever, it would be a clear sign of disrespect. Either sir You are choosing Your "friends" poorly or You lack what can be described as charisma or presence.

Love / What are my chances of finding a decent Polish lady? [24]

been to ukraine, kiev was great.interested to try somewhere new,and polish people seem friendly.

I see we've got a man of some experience on our hands. Welcome.

First, let me congratulate You about narrowing Your target down rather well. Because, let's face it, unless You're famous or wheel and deal in showbiz Your chances of getting it on with a British girl in her 20's ( especially a girl with an "amazing and wonderful body" ) don't look too great with You not being a spring chicken and all. Hence You're right, Poland, Ukraine and perhaps a few other states in Eastern Europe are definitely the right places to look for one.

Now, my initial piece of advice is - don't rule out looking in the U.K. completely.

Sure, it is not 2004/2005 anymore and Polish women no longer arrive by thousands every day, many of them looking for a local guy that will make their life much easier. But depending on where You live ( a bigger city, London ideally ) You still have a fairly good chance to become a sugar daddy to some Polish girl in her twenties or thirties who'll simply love You if You let her stay in Your place "for free" and cover the bills. I know a few chaps ( one of them in his late 40's ) in London who successfully used [gumtree.com] ( which stopped allowing personal ads a while ago ) to snatch a girl from Eastern Europe, they placed ads along the lines "Well-off British gentlemen with a house/apartment in ............ looking for a lovely Polish/Czech/Lithuanian girl for friendship, travel and perhaps more". I know, cheesy and very down to business, but it worked for my colleagues, though usually for a few years at best. Find the site, post an ad, don't even post Your photo, You'll most likely be positively surprised by the results.

Now, regarding looking for Polish women in Poland specifically - use a Polish dating site ( like sympatia .pl), don't bother posting in Polish, post in English, write that You think that "Polish women are the most beautiful in the world" and act like the proper English gentleman. The women You're looking for will consider You very special and better than the locals because You are a foreigner ( about 20%-30% of the Polish female population share this belief ), hence underline the fact that You're much different from Polish blokes.

Hope that helps, best of British luck,

Love / POLISH GIRLS... wake up and prove you are respectable.... [135]

And...? All I'm saying is that it'd be good to see them in thongs too occasionally... ;)

Madam, I assume You're a blonde...:

thong - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thong_%28clothing%29

thRong - answers.com/topic/throng

Anways, all I said was You're making an unfounded generalization about males from a country located on the other side of the bloody globe. And while I don't doubt Your expertise in the wet fish department, in case of Polish blokes You've probably met one, two tops and are simply in no position to generalize.

Kinda if I ( met about a dozen of Aussie ladies in my life ) said all Australian women are hookers and ****** because that's one of the things that ppl got deported to Australia for in the past.

(Btw... they give us passports you know...) ;) - so You're saying You made it to Poland and Mr Kowalski of Your choice did not make it past the 5 minute line?

Terribly sorry, but still not right to judge a whole nation of ppl like this.

Polish men have about as much erotic passion as a wet fish. - and You, hailing from bloody Sydney in freaking Australia of all places know all about Polish men, since they literally just rampage up and down the beaches in throngs over there?

Plz, these generalizations are getting crazy.

Love / Nigerian Girls and Polish Guys [43]

Khan, are You being racist again?

I am a Jew born in Poland and have a Polish passport, which depending on how one sees things might qualify me as a "Polish guy".

I've been with black chicks in the past. Not Nigerian, but British girls of Jamaican origin hailing from the lovely Brixton. I don't think that is so unusal or that it qualifies me ( or any other Polish guy involved with a black woman ) as a circus attraction.

As a matter of fact I've also even been with a Pakistani muslim ( but open-minded ) woman ( gotta love London ). How's that for You?

UK, Ireland / Do Poles and EU Citizens exploit the British welfare state [129]

Havok

Sure, there's a difference, but one can't blame the Brits if they're pissed off.

The way the system is now, anyone can just jump on a plane in Bielsko Biala or some other shithole, get off in Stansted, then run and collect bennies.

Insane.

News / Polish people mocked and humiliated in Season 7 of House MD [60]

1) Please don't teach me about the difference between a madame and a working girl. You're preaching to the choir :) But since You seem to have so much knowledge on the topic, please tell me, what's the difference in the moral sense?

2) How many girls have You heard of that started as a "madame" outright? Just walked into a brothel and said - "lookie here, pretty, unknown girlies I'll be takin' care of the money side of things from now on, you just keep on workin' them asses..." Yeah, thought so. And once a hooker - always a hooker.

3) "real person" - whose life has been extensively covered by the media, who has been the basis of numerous fictional characters, whose name generates 500.000 hits on google, who keeps on making it to the news in the states, etc.

But ok, let's assume You're right.

2 movies.

Please name a Polish prostitute that had two movies made about her.

Get my point?

News / Polish people mocked and humiliated in Season 7 of House MD [60]

you are out of your gord, where did you see a jewish hooker,

Madame Heidi Fleiss, does that ring any bells for you, old chap?

Portrayed numerous times in the media - certainly more often than any Polish prostitute - with another movie in the works, if I recall correctly.

Now for some reason I don't get on the phone to Miramax and threaten Weinstein with bodily harm every time I hear about that Fleiss skank on the telly. Neither do other Jewish people.

i met this female doc my age through an appointment and dont know if there was something there, and i have a chronic illness and no job but she looked into my eyes with a penlight

am i making more out of it cause im going through this, she is a resident i dont know if shes married, she was proffesional but it did come up how beautiful she was.

This is positively great. Your credentials for getting involved with a resident doctor ( or just getting laid with her ) are simply peerless ( as in "no job" ), she must be falling head over heels over you right now as I write, absolutely go for it, don't wait a second longer. After all, it's not like you were just another unemployed dude who couldn't prevent himself from telling her she's got a good ass :)

News / Polish people mocked and humiliated in Season 7 of House MD [60]

The female doctor, Cameron I think her name is, also happens to be Polish+employing Polish actors that's hardly humiliation.

Nah, the Polish have to find this humiliating... I mean each and every Polish woman portrayed on television in the U.S. should be as close to the real thing as it gets, that is: better educated than everyone around her, prettier than american women half her age and smarter than american women twice her age, extremely rich, bursting with success and able to get any man she wants...

In case of the House series the Polish might actually consider not being offended if the producers introduce this this female Polish mega-doctor educated in Walbrzych that routinely outhinks her Harvard-graduate colleagues, solves all the puzzles effortlessly for House but only after he begs to do it for about 20 minutes in each episode, plus happens to be a former supermodel and a multi-millionaire who only practices medicine as a hobby ( and to save lives, because she has such a golden heart )...

Newsflash people:

1) Polish women work as maids in the U.S. So do Mexican and Filipina women.

2) Polish women used to marry guys for green cards in the U.S. Supposedly this trend is coming to an end now with the Polish average income rising.

3) The richest Polish woman in United States got her money through marriage.

4) Mail-order brides came/come from Eastern Europe.

5) I don't get offended when I see Jewish gangsters, hookers, money lenders, etc. on TV. Neither do the British when Hollywood comes up with version 8.05 of the "New Limey Bastard". So why the hell are You so pissed off about 1 hooker/maid?

Love / Torments me my boyfriend had a relationship with a pole-how do I get over this [28]

my boyfriend ex was a pole and its on my mind all the time! I keep thinking of her, looking at her on facebook etc. I think if she was english, spanish or any other nationality I would properly be able to forget about her but the fact he dated an polish woman just upsets me. I see polish people as a threat to my country, there are taking over and I cannot believe he may of married this woman and had polish babies with her. To me it shows a total disrespect to the UK.

I don;t know why I am posting this here? maybe get over my polish hatred? I don't want keep thinking of her, I dont want get worried when we hear a polish accent on the street or on tv that my boyfriend will be thinking of his ex.

How do I get over this? I think the main problem is I think when he sees polish shops, hear acccents that he is thinking of her. I dont want have this hate

Sheesh, someone here has one heck of a problem.

Assuming this isn't a troll job:

1) Polish people aren't a "threat" to UK, Ireland or any other place. Until Your politicians opt out of the EU and re-instate visa laws Polish can freely visit, settle, work, etc. Get over it. Not to mention that UK invited a boatload of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, even Somalian people a while back and a lot of them aren't really that keen on assimilating if You catch my drift, so what's with singling out Polish all of the sudden?

2) polish babies - from what I've seen a lot of Polish women who come over to the UK and "have babies" don't really raise their babies to be particularly "Polish", stressing overall education, ability to speak the LOCAL language and ability to fit in. And in the United States many of the younger generation "Kowalski's" don't even consider themselves Polish. Hence I truly don't get that fixation with "polish babies".

3) To me it shows a total disrespect to the UK. - lol... Shagging a Polish chick equals disrespecting the UK? Did the Queen issue an edict that I'm not aware of? Seriously, loads of British lads are doing Polish chicks ( for various reasons, I mean quite often a lad who works part-time and inherited a bedsit in Thamesmead from his granny is the very definition of success for a Polish lady ) so again - dunno what's Your problem.

4) How do I get over this? - honestly I believe You should see a doctor.

BTW, I'm Jewish so plz don't throw any Poland-based insults at me.

UK, Ireland / Are you Poles proud of your country? Then why do you keep coming to Britain? [100]

1) Until Britain opts out of the EU ( good luck with that, mate ) the Polish have the right to settle in Britain.

You'll just have to live with that, I hope no veins pop in Your head from all that stress.

2) The concerns that You raise about the way some Polish are milking the UK welfare system are genuine. IMO it is also laughable that statistically speaking right now the easiest way to get a Polish woman pregnant is to put her on a Ryanair to Blightey.

Something should be done about the welfare leeches ( not only of the Polish kind ) and saying so does not mean one's the next Adolf Hitler or BNP supporter.

Love / Polish traditions and parents (I was dating this Polish guy..) [72]

Blue Eyed -

thank you for your comments they helped alot.

Madam, I'm glad I was able to help.

I do believe that the guy himself surely wasn't the main problem and that he would have matured rather quickly, had he met the right woman. Unfortunately for him, it seems it will be his momma who'll be making decisions in that matter ( and she of course considers being Polish a number 1 requirement ). I'm afraid he won't exactly be happy with her choice in the long run, but that is no longer any concern of Yours.

Actually I think it could have been worse, You could have tried a longer relationship with him and then every time something wouldn't work out his mum and dad would continue to blame You behind Your back while politely smiling while You were in the room. That wouldn't have ended too well and would have been a waste of Your time.

However, please do not make far reaching assumptions about all Polish people based on this, I've seen such "family" issues in Italian, Irish, Jewish and English families as well.

Lodz the Boat - yeah, sure, diss her some more because the guy's family are a bunch of *******.

LTB - way to go, diss her, it's all her fault.

BlueEyed - when I first replied I wrote about 2 options. Unfortunately, based on what You wrote, I believe that while the guy is a bit of an immature dumbass, his family is the main problem.

This is a really difficult obstacle to clear and You'd be much better off finding somebody from a family where a son's choice of life partner doesn't cause threats of divorce amongst the parents.

Travel / The British YOBs are back in Polish towns [68]

So we had a bit o' a talk about this, now I'm cruising through onet today and I find an article.

Basically some local journo found enough decency to look at all sides of a story. He even went "undercover" with some of the British lads.... Surprise, surprise, he heard one group clearly complaining about the Polish being aggressive, another gent saying that Cracow has to do something with all these stabbings and witnessed some British stags being insulted smack down in the middle of the street because they didn't want to go to a stripclub.

But I guess he was just really lucky and met the only three decent groups of stags in a sea of barbarism and obscenity that pours out of every Ryanair flight that takes off in the U.K.. Chances are that if he does that one more time he'll end up butt-raped and nailed to the Sukiennice by these monsters from Albion...

Southern and Midas, as well as their likes are used to women who are too ambitious and would stray loose. I agree that such women exist from Polish backgrounds

I don't think You fully understood what I meant by loose up there, old chap.

No use really, it is just that Midas is an unfortunate person

know it will not work for you, because perhaps you have already shaped your personality in that way. Quite simply unfortunate

Cut the personal ****. I don't go around the forum telling everyone who'd listen that You hump donkeys for chump change just because we have different opinions on some matters.

Simon Mol

I brought Mol into the fold after Southern mentioned "third worlders". Since he's off-topic here and since You seem to be so hung up on comparing and contrasting him with so many great polish girl/third world male couples I started a new thread, just for you, about Mr. Mol where we can exchange our opinions.

Here's a link for You, address the question I ask there plz:

Simon Mol - would he have been so "successful" in other countries?

will not go in to blame or speculate it into an oppressive culture of theirs (because I personally do not believe it, I think they are reasonably free and their behavior is often their own choice)

Yeah, sure, in Pakistan these chicks pour acid on their own faces out of their own volition...

but I would say that it is a mark of their "way of life" that they are more conservative.

See above.

Poles are not always so conservative specially in a foreign land because our family fabric is not as it used to be. We are turning more westwards,

Spreading for a guy who'll pay Your London rent or "falling in love" with a local who'll pay the bills and help to find the job two days after one get's off a Ryanair ( activities in which visible amounts of Polish women participate in ) isn't really too "Western", if You catch my drift.

Personally I don't know what You're so pissed off about. I'm not talking about all Polish women. I'm talking about a visible group that is doing quite a bit to show themselves in a bad light. Now, You being Polish ( and for some reason married to a Korean despite being so utterly smitten by Polish women ) instead of telling them to clean up their act You b.itch at me for telling it like it is.

Insane.

Love / Polish girls and the national sport: COMPLAINING HARD all the time [25]

Go on then, tell us what you told her. - great, now he'll tell us all about how to make money off the internet :-)

One very beautiful girl who is always complaining
that she has to work very hard for only
1700 PLN per month,
I showed her very easy way in which
she can work 3 times less and earn 10 times more.

Of course completely legal.

The reaction?

Was awful, she accused me of insulting her,
and told me to leave her alone.

If You told her what I think You told her she had every reason to be insulted, Polish or no Polish.
