just to get a green card

Well it may not be pleasant for poles to see this sort of thing on TV but it is true. Many polish women marry foreign men to get the opportunity to get away from poland or to just have a better life in Poland. Most people don't hear about it because ukrainian/russian women steal the spotlight.

I remember a movie by Clint Eastwood " Grand Torino " - a very positive ex. of Polish character . He is a Polish friend , that`s for sure .

cool, now my turn; Nicolas Cage is a Slovak undertaker.

If I were a producer I would make a film with 2 women one Russkaya and one Polka trying to pull the same man out his innocent germanic wife.

A soap opera of mega dimensions for lot of crying.

I assume he wouldn’t be stuck between her front teeth then…

In the new season there's a polish actress who will play as a eastern european housemaid, ***** and mail order wife of House MD just to get a green card

Her name is Karolina Wydra and her character is called Dominika

What do you think about it?

Again it's the same situation like it was in Gossip Girl where there was a polish maid

The female doctor, Cameron I think her name is, also happens to be Polish+employing Polish actors that's hardly humiliation.

Besides, there are no such things as Polish maids.

There certainly aren't in Warsaw: all but two of the maids I've ever employed or have been employed by my friends were Ukrainian; the two who weren't Ukrainian were from Belarus.

I have normal relations with Jewish people whom I regard normal and modest people. But small percentage of them ( especially those in Hollywood ) play nasty about Polish people .

As opposed to the Poles who lie about Jewish-related topics, i.e. Poles like you.

It's just that if someone of Polish descent, waves a Polish flag proudly and claims he loves being Polish but can't say a single word in Polish or says the wrong word (Busha lol) and has never been to Poland, kinda makes him/her look a little silly.

My favourite are the people who claim to be Polish but have actually sworn to attack Poland any time they are ordered to do so, those people look more than a little silly!

Nah, the Polish have to find this humiliating... I mean each and every Polish woman portrayed on television in the U.S. should be as close to the real thing as it gets, that is: better educated than everyone around her, prettier than american women half her age and smarter than american women twice her age, extremely rich, bursting with success and able to get any man she wants...

In case of the House series the Polish might actually consider not being offended if the producers introduce this this female Polish mega-doctor educated in Walbrzych that routinely outhinks her Harvard-graduate colleagues, solves all the puzzles effortlessly for House but only after he begs to do it for about 20 minutes in each episode, plus happens to be a former supermodel and a multi-millionaire who only practices medicine as a hobby ( and to save lives, because she has such a golden heart )...

Newsflash people:

1) Polish women work as maids in the U.S. So do Mexican and Filipina women.

2) Polish women used to marry guys for green cards in the U.S. Supposedly this trend is coming to an end now with the Polish average income rising.

3) The richest Polish woman in United States got her money through marriage.

4) Mail-order brides came/come from Eastern Europe.

5) I don't get offended when I see Jewish gangsters, hookers, money lenders, etc. on TV. Neither do the British when Hollywood comes up with version 8.05 of the "New Limey Bastard". So why the hell are You so pissed off about 1 hooker/maid?

Unless theyre played by Anthony lapaglia or some other Aussie with a crap British accent ;)

My "fav" example is the scene in that mel gibbson film The Patriot, where the evil Red coats herd all the american civilians in a church and burn them.....in the UK people laughed at this and chuckled over the "yanks making up history again" (the only recorded massaccres like that in the revolutionary wars were carried out by continental militias against Tory villages).....in short, its only play acting, get a life and have a giggle about it :)

House!

RoadHouse! ;)

you are out of your gord, where did you see a jewish hooker,

Madame Heidi Fleiss, does that ring any bells for you, old chap?

Portrayed numerous times in the media - certainly more often than any Polish prostitute - with another movie in the works, if I recall correctly.

Now for some reason I don't get on the phone to Miramax and threaten Weinstein with bodily harm every time I hear about that Fleiss skank on the telly. Neither do other Jewish people.

This is positively great. Your credentials for getting involved with a resident doctor ( or just getting laid with her ) are simply peerless ( as in "no job" ), she must be falling head over heels over you right now as I write, absolutely go for it, don't wait a second longer. After all, it's not like you were just another unemployed dude who couldn't prevent himself from telling her she's got a good ass :)

Heidi Fleiss was a madame and a madame is not a hooker. A madame is in charge of hookers. Moreover, Heidi Fleiss is a real person, and so your complaints would be different than those of people complaining about fictional characters and, far from numerous, there have been only one or two movies about Heidi Fleiss anyhow.

1) Please don't teach me about the difference between a madame and a working girl. You're preaching to the choir :) But since You seem to have so much knowledge on the topic, please tell me, what's the difference in the moral sense?

2) How many girls have You heard of that started as a "madame" outright? Just walked into a brothel and said - "lookie here, pretty, unknown girlies I'll be takin' care of the money side of things from now on, you just keep on workin' them asses..." Yeah, thought so. And once a hooker - always a hooker.

3) "real person" - whose life has been extensively covered by the media, who has been the basis of numerous fictional characters, whose name generates 500.000 hits on google, who keeps on making it to the news in the states, etc.

But ok, let's assume You're right.

2 movies.

Please name a Polish prostitute that had two movies made about her.

Get my point?

what's the difference in the moral sense?

Gee Midas you've named yourself after a greedy King and you don't see the moral difference? The difference is that, in a culture that worships money, the Madame is clearly superior because she makes more than her employees.

Please name a Polish prostitute that had two movies made about her.

Heidi Fleiss is famous because she had celebrities as clients. Her religion is completely unrelated to her notariety. No Polish Gentile madames are as famous as her, hence the lack of any movies, but once again this thread is about a fictional prostitute not a real one.

For a woman living in America who is proud of her polish heritage this is very offensive to me. :( Just kidding, I wouldn't have ever been born if Polish people hadn't licked the ass of Americans to come here.
